I really wanted to get this one. I hate how it's a Walmart exclusive. I'm scared I'm never gonna get a Moss man. The Walmarts out here by me don't ever get anything but the Buzz off wave, and Roton. Great video as always my friend!!

But I guess companies need that support from certain retailers to help the costs of producing these figures. Duplico and Mossman are showing up in certain locations or online sometimes. I’ve seen people here and in the Facebook groups commenting that Duplico looks like wrestler Cody Rhodes. Haven’t been a wrestling fan since the early 90s, so I have no clue who he is, but he definitely does look like a wrestler or gladiator. If I had to guess part of his appeal (outside of his rarity) is because he was one of the four unproduced vintage RotS figures? He just seems like such an odd character with no actual way to reproduce the “duplicating” gimmick short of just buying multiple figures. I can sort of see why he was never produced to begin with. Great review anyway, Man Child! The mix and match with He-Man actually looked a bit better, in my opinion. Reminded me of mini-comic Prince Adam with the blue vest.
Yeah I had a few comments about Cody Rhodes and some other wrestling guys that Duplico resembles. Also the Rock with Blonde hair was the other Suggestions. I think they are all close. But I too haven't watched wrestling in a while. He's an odd figure that came out like a Chase Figure or just using more tooled parts to throw something together. The gun also looks like it's from Transformers. I also got a few comments on that. He is kind of cool looking in hand and will work good for some customs or parts swapping with his accessories. Thanks for taking a look at this video of Duplico and sharing your thoughts as always 👍

I think the Origins going to Creations is the best way to finish up the vintage inspired figures because they are gonna be very expensive to tool and manufacture for Mattel. That's why they haven't done certain figures yet like Two Bad, Modulok, Blast Attack and Dragstor areca lot involved. Retail doesn't really want this stuff or it's always on clearance. In a perfect world I wish all these figures cound just be manufactured and on pegs everywhere. So om fine with MC selling them. But I hope they have enough for everyone.
the gun from Duplico looks very familiar, looks like SHOCKWAVE from Transformers G1, my son loves Shockwave G1 only, not the new style,....I love soundwave and blaster,...........marius(punk rules).
@mariusbabii so many other people said the same thing about that gun. I think they used the same design or Mold for that gun from the Transformers G1 Shockwave. Thanks for checking out this review 👍

Thanks for stopping in! Yes, for the most part, I only care about the Sunman and Pig-Head figure added to the Origins line. But this guy is a heavy chase figure and can fit in well as long as you can pick one up for cheap!
I ordered my Duplico and then it got cancelled two days later. Walmart really annoys me. And given they have never handled the Origins line very well, I've all but given up getting one of these because honestly collecting Origins has gotten very very frustrating this year. So many pre-ordered and then even more with this crazy short window to get it is ridiculous.
Wallmart is all well known for canceling preorders with toys. It's happened to me before as well. I got lucky to actually get this figure in my cart, and it actually shipped! Many collectors love the Origins line. Unfortunately, it's becoming more difficult and always changing on where and when to require figures that are becoming more limited because of cost Productions and a limited number of collectors are chasing the line or certain figures. Not to mention scalpers buying them up for ebay.
@@Themanchlid Oh I LOVE the origins line. I never owned a He-Man figure before this line because I came from the era of Big Jim, Captain Action, and Mego. But when they took these designs and added descent articulation, that grabbed me. I did learn something though. When they put out a crap load of pre-orders earlier this year, my collecting fever began to wane. Why? Because after that happen (AND they were adding more like this), it began to feel like work rather collecting. So my urge has diminished some because they've made the experience so laborious. I don't know if I'm collecting or getting mugged.
@Playitstraight44 Many of us got all fired up with purchases and preorders when the Masterverse and Origins hit the markets. It has been a really wild ride, so to speak, chasing or trying to get so many figures. Some have been at retail sitting on pegs and clearance! Others can only be found online through Preorders, Mattel creations, BBTS, and Wallmart or Ebay, to name a few. It's very frustrating, and unfortunately, the new normal or the nature of the beast adult toy collecting today. But it's really bad with the MOTU line.
@@Themanchlid My apologies for the rant. Thanks for listening and responding! I have that Eternia playset coming early next year, which I suspect will be near the end of this series. So I'm just trying to get the vast majority of figures in place so it will be ready to populate once constructed. I'm having to carve out a corner in my collector room and build a table to house that and both castles. Its a job, but I think the end result will be worth it.
@Playitstraight44 Not a problem! I hear frustration from collectors throughout the day! I'm also one of them. I totally get it! There's many reasons why the Motu Origins line is difficult to get today. It has a lot to do with limited production numbers and high cost to manufacture these figures compared to the 80s. Retail doesn't really want to stock this brand anymore because of poor sales. The collectors are buying this line. It needs the interest of kids to do well at retail and for them to order more. So the best option is to put it online or Mattel creations in limited numbers. But then people can buy three, and many of those figures go on eBay for high costs. I also have Eternia coming next year! I also have no idea where I'm going to put it and even how I want to review mine without turning it into a two hour review. I'll figure something out when I get it. The Eternia will not be the end of the Origins line. Mattel said they are gonna finish all the Vintage figures up. There's about 14 left. Extendar, Syclone, Two Bad, and Modulok, to name a few that are in the works. They also said that as long as people keep buying up the figures and supporting the line. They will keep making all the other vintage stuff and new things. But of course, it's not fun for many to collect. All the other figures and vehicles will only be Mattel Creations now. The Origins filmation figures coming next year will be at retail.
Thanks for stopping in to check out the review! Yeah, he is even here in the US. He is difficult to find. I had a rare opportunity and jumped on it. Maybe these could find a way to you guys down the road somehow!👍
Hello Manchild! The distribution of this figure simple is a racist decision from Mattel! Each Sun-Man figure you get (even when you don't want them) shoveled in each wave. But this figure was only on a specific wave 12 set (there where 2 wave 12 sets variations: One had Hypno and One had Duplico). Newer happened to any Sun-Man before....strangely when a "white figure".... (now its a wallmart exclusive? Even more so) Sorry to be so direct! Nice Review like always.
I'm not sure why or what the overall decisions were in intruducing this figure into the Sunman line. I guess they also felt the need to enforce more diversity with a white character in that series as there where none. He just happens to be a rare chase variant. Has a gun the looked like Transformers and also the the apperance of the Rock or Cody from the WWE that some people suggested in the comments. I only picked it up to be part of the chase hype but as long as he was 20 bucks are under as I told myself. In hand I think he is kind of interesting and fits in to the Origins well. Thanks for dropping by!👍
@@Themanchlid It don't looks like that "it's just happened to be rare". It looks like that it was wanted to be rare - because all others (black, indian, latino) was overproduced and distributed well! But here you must be lucky to get also a white sun-man character. Change my mind. I'm not even from the USA, but i also understand this "message". Mattel (Relationship: Love and Hate). Its a nice figure, no question about that. 👍
@@iliasfog8857 Yes that's also a possibility. I think I also mentioned in the review that throwing this figure out at random by Mattel as a un spoken chase variant is like a promoting stunt to drive the brand and to create hype. This is not a new concept in toy collecting. The Mattel team must have sat down and put ideas together to push this figure out. It cost them tens of thousand of dollars in development to put figures out in the market even know they are sharing parts and have little accessories or new tooled parts. The rest of the Origins vintage inspired figures to come will be a minimum of 100000 dollars in tooling and design alone to manufacturer those such as Modulok, Two Bad and Extendar to name a few. So Duplico is a easy cash grab, Promote the brand as a Chase Figure. Adds diversity to Sunman and looks like a wrestling character which many people draw to here in the USA.
@@Themanchlid Yes, give plenty of things what people don't really want and hit the sweetspot with something what people want. Marketing Strategy (today) + loosing money with agenda - gaining money back with nostalgia. A "Stunt" is also a possibility, like you said. This figure would have (also in Europe) a better potential than the rest of the sunman cast. I don't find my Sun-Man Figures, last time i saw them they were standing on a windowsill in the sunlight. 🥵
@@user-jp3vl5jx1j No, racism work for both/all sides! They are not entirely black! After Barbie Movie and some raceswaps (King Grayskull)... its a hard step to not understand whats going on today!
I think he can both. MOTU always had a wrestling look to me depending on the figures. But I agree he is really leaning more to a wrestling character! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts ✌️
He definitely looks like a Wrestling character! Maybe that was part of Mattel s idea when creating the look of this Figure going back to the WWE Line of Figures that many people liked and can mix with the Origins or Sunman figures. Thanks for stopping in to check out the review 👍

Why is everyone going nuts over this figure? It seems pretty boring to me, just like the entire Sun Man line. Another boring human. Where's the monsters, like Pig Head?
I wasn't that excited either for him. I told myself if I see him for 20 bucks or so. I will pick him up which I did. In hand he looks cool and can go with the Heroic warriors good in the Origins. But i would also prefer the Monster figures like Pig-Head, Modulok and Spikor to name a few!
That's what I said at first too. I told myself if I can get him for 20 bucks then I pick him up. So I did. He looks cool in person and can mix well with the Origins. But he's nothing to over hype about!
it's a bit ironic that the only chase figure that's scalped to the teeth 💸 💰 🤑 is almost the only white guy in an otherwise Afro-black-centric toyline... almost telling~
Yeah I don't know if that's the reason or bias to the line and other Characters. I think many people picked up the main Sunman and Pig-Head figures like myself. I'm just trying to stick the the vintage inspired Origins Characters because that's what I grew up with. Some Sunman Characters fit well in the line but others feel out of place to me. Duplico is a mix. There's something about the vest, That Transformers gun and his over the Top Wrestling Character apperance that stands out for some reason.
A shame this is not available for international buyers. This is one figure I would love to have, but, yep, no good.
Hes got shock wave. From transformers
Yes, the gun looks like Transformers!
i wish They gave them a different loin cloth or. give. him HeMan cloth
He's A Sunman figure. So they went with that parts swapping concept
Must be Cody Rhodes wrestling fans might’ve ask for that
I would think so
Interesting fig a d review but I'll pass on him
Yeah, he's different! Thanks for stopping in, bro!👌
This guy looks like a wrestling figure, not MOTU.
I think he can both. MOTU always had a wrestling look to me depending on the figures. But I agree he is really leaning more to a wrestling character! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts ✌️
It's randy rhodes
Him too!
not A fan of the diamond emblem belts at least Fantastic 4 has team Uniforms but Why al SunMan figur have the same belt
They all have the same belt like Motu figures all have the same belt. It was cost savings to share tooling parts
Chodey Rhoda’s
👍
I’m tired of McFarlane figures you can’t do cousins with, unless you have a bunch of them
Mcfarlane figures are more difficult to customize
😜 Latino Heat
👍😁
Why not make him a 6 inch figure
Like the Classics or Masterverse line?
LOOKS like a wrestler... no idea why people freak out over this one ?? ugh
He definitely looks like a Wrestling character! Maybe that was part of Mattel s idea when creating the look of this Figure going back to the WWE Line of Figures that many people liked and can mix with the Origins or Sunman figures. Thanks for stopping in to check out the review 👍
Funny he looks like a pail black figure
He dose have unique Skin coloe or wash!
Kind of an albino. Like Tombstone in Spider-Man.
@@travisboyle285 Yeah he definitely has an albino apperance with the skin and Hair. Very close to Tombstone 👍
He looks really weird. Especially his face. The blue color looks great though.
He reminds me of a promotional wrestling character! The colors are definitely nice👍
@@Themanchlid I collect he-man figures as well. I collect the 1980's vintage figures. I have over 30 different he-man vintage figures so far. I only have hordak in the origins collection. But I will collect those as well.
This has gotta be the most over-hyped figure in all of Origins. I do not understand the appeal at all.
That's what I said at first too. I told myself if I can get him for 20 bucks then I pick him up. So I did. He looks cool in person and can mix well with the Origins. But he's nothing to over hype about!
23.90😂don't 4get tax
There's always tax! 😁
22 $ a figur
19.99 for me
it's a bit ironic that the only chase figure that's scalped to the teeth 💸 💰 🤑 is almost the only white guy in an otherwise Afro-black-centric toyline... almost telling~
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 👍

A first-rate review of Duplico and his cool accessory! 🪚
