In Europe we say. You can change religion , you can change from politics you can change from wife. But you never change from club or colors... its our religion... we are married to the team.
Yep, I live in NL and I have never ever watched a single person ever to switch teams. If you do that, you are just no longer repected and we would make you feel that (with jokes) till you die. That club is your club and you support it till death.
Bro it is a religion. Our teams have been here nearly as long as the United States has been a country. We love our teams unconditionally. Its not just a game.

What you have to realize is that the entire footballing world has these fans bases.
ONLY the Canada and the US have the most boring fans ever.
The South and Central Americans are just as exciting too.

Also, at least in Germany there are mandatory yearly building inspections of the stadium including the use of FLIR cameras to spot micro cracks caused by material fatique.

The fires are usually navy signal flares. They hide them in hollow trunks of the banners they carry (at least thats how we did it )
@7:30 This is a multilevel display for which you need to know a few things to grasp the whole idea idea.
1. UEFA is the paneuropean association of the separate country leagues.
2. They organize the international tournaments for clubs the Champions League and Europa League, for national teams the curently ongoing Euro.
3. These international tournaments are highly lucrative. Participants take home a lot of money.
4. That money has to come from somewhere. It's good for UEFA to be able to cut costs or colect fines, so as much money as possible is left for them and the cup winners.
5. Such displays including fireworks are banned and teams get a fine if their fans do it. That happens alot with central/eastern european teams as they never progress far enough most of the time and fans like to make the most of the event in the few games they have.
6. In this particular case - the fans of Legia Warsaw mock UEFA by presenting them as a greedy pig, dressed in euro signs shirt. Also stiring a draw pot, which is a common thing for these tournaments, but in the case all the balls in the pot are Legia so it's rigged and they are the ones who will get a fine anyway, regardless what they do.
7. The reason behind this exact display of Legia is that UEFA disqualified Legia in a previous season, after they destroyed Celtic 6:1 in t matches, yet UEFA found a ineligable player was on the pitch and let Celtic through.
You should react to South America barra's. It's basically the equivalent to ultras in Europe, just in South America and at times more wild depending on the fanbase. Especially out of Argentina (I'm of South American background but American by birth, Colombian and Ecuadorian by blood).
The fire is bengale fireworks... or firesignals for ships in need. No pyro no party smokes and flares are a must.
even the smallest clubs have at liest 1000 to 2000 of that level fans. like a even cities with only 50.000 to 100.000 residents. like that almost every city in europe has this kind of culture no matter how small.

The difference with America is that our cities sometimes have thousands of years of history the love of the club is above all the love of the city
Here is the difference: In Europe the clubs are part and pride of the community. They will never be sold and transferred to another town, like the Raiders or Rams in the USA. That makes american teams like soulless for profit entities only. Everything is for sale in America.

@@filippenic6599 To say the truth? No, but certainly not like that in public when there are kids in a stadium because parents in the U.S. bring their kids all the time, and I mean young kids! I don't know about Europe, but I can tell that this is not really the case. There are more adults than kids, that's why they can do that ... I guess.

As u can see the players standing around the middle circle, than u know that theres some type of memorial going on. In this scene, it's a memorial for the people who were killed by the Nazis, when Hitler-Germany attacked Poland.
Such choreos are brought on to special games which have a speciffic background or big games, like derbys and stuff like this.
We worship our teams, in a church / Ground, sing hymns/songs of praise but generally to 11 gods not just 1 so ye to us in Europe and South America Football is a religion

fans in the EU are +1 player in the host team. no matter what sports discipline
As you can see this is the culture all over Europe. From Lisbon to Moskoy, Athens to Stockholm. But it is not restricted to football, the same can be seen in a few other sports like Basketball. I think in part what American fans like to do is being special and ding "funny" stuff like funny dances wetc we do not actually appreciate a whole lot over here in Europe. In europe it is far more raw and passionate. We do not like people trying to get the attention of camera's a whole lot, it is more a social thing and so I think intuitively we are more a huge social pack together and as you can see the endresult is far more intense and fun to watch.
In USA and Canada you have a FANS
In Europe, Asia and some part of S/C America you have an ULTRAS

The 2 clips of Legia Warsaw, the displays are called Tifos(pronounced cheefos)the 2nd was against UEFA who had fined the club for the support lighting flare, that's why there was so many.

There is a thing or two Americans do simply not get. First, You do not choose a club, the club chooses You. And if a club chose You, it is a lifetime relationship. And You always go for Your national team no matter what. Because most of the times you will ssuffer and You know that and You dont care. Americans are simply not interested cos they could loose. They call their national championships world series and stuff. We smile and know world champion is France.

its not just a religion for a lot of fans its so much more than that in certain parts of Europe. Some clubs have a rivalry since civilwar times and the hatred still runs deep some even joined the army just to fight the diffrent areas because of their rivalry towards that region. Some are defined by class struggles in a long forgotten era but same there, the colors run deep. And some are rightwing and some are communist clubs so there is so much more than just the diffrent teams. And a big part of the huge diffrence in the atmosphere in and around the arenas in Europe vs the US is that the hardcore fans travel with their teams regardless of were they are going to play. Usually its homefield advantage but away supporters can show up in massive numbers. And that the prices are more affordable in Europe vs US.

That's why a lot of top players don't want to transfer to your sport, because they have family in Europe, not your "fans" who come to the stadium to eat a burger. A European player would never tolerate that.
Regardless of the fact that club songs are sung in Europe, it's not always what is heard in US stadiums.
