I caught my fish that was in the low 60's 35 years ago when I was 25. Even without smartphones that memory will be etched in your mind forever. Congratulations and I also released my fish way back then. Tight lines and most of all have a great time!

That brought back a great memory of catching my first 52-in fish which was off the 4th avenue jetty in Asbury Park on a rainy quite similar conditions just before new moon early fall low pressure... greatest feeling I think I've ever had fishing I thought the thing was 70 pounds, glad to see the energy still goes on with new fisherman to the game I've had four fish over 50 in they all have their own great memory!!!!!! 'Frankie the fish" Rock on Smooch and Release!!!!
Very nice, a memory for life. Glad you put her back. Just one bit of caution, never handle by the gills. I know she was big, heavy and awkward but keep that in mind. That’s not throwing ice water, good job.
That’s the big lesson I learned here. Nothing ever prepared me to catch a fish that big, so I really didn’t know how to handle it (especially because i could barely lift her) but i’m happy to have the experience and understanding for next time 🙂

Saw the pic on a FB fishing group and a thread about it on Stripers online. Great video and good job handling the fish. You set the bar pretty high with this one ! Get some of those awesome photos framed and retire the 5" mag darter you caught her on! Memorable night would be the understatement of the century. Congrats on the cow! Fish is definitely north of 50#.

A 50 incher after only a year and half of fishing is AMAZING! You guys should buy the lotto.
Watching this my heart was pounding waiting for a flashlight to give me better vision on this honorable event of Erica catching her PB Stripped Bass. You guys are the Prince & Princess of surfcasting for strippers. You endurance & knowledge paid off with a reward like no other.
I live in Virginia & we have a spring season & a fall season that lasts until Dec. 31 of every year so believe me I have been out on a boat, all bundled up in my ski suit bib overalls trying for one more thrill of fighting a stripped bass. For them to fight & pull drag so hard, you'd never think of how sensitive they are and get VERY stressed out once caught. Proud of both of You for the great job of handling her back into the water.
I got a citation for a 20lb - 38" striper caught out of the Chesapeake Bay but any fish is fun to catch anytime.
I honestly got emotional so I had to watch it again. Great job well done.

Great catch. It's a shame how people want to put a dark cloud over your success. I've met and spoken with you guys a couple of times and it obvious that you have a passion for fishing and would never do anything to jeopardize that resource. I caught a fish like that in November on the south shore of Long Island 20 feet from the beach. I landed him and then the bent hook fell out of his mouth. I have the same pole with a pen battle II 3000 caught it on an A17 diamond Jig with a cream color tail. I always crush the barbs on the hooks when I’m fishing for bass
