[Verse 2: Wale]
All I get is money talking hundred, hundred, hundred
My city say I run it 'cause I never ever fumble
Every time I sing it make the pretty women love me
I can be a poet, be your homie, be your plumber
Sunset summer, all black pullin'
I got more gas than a H3 hummer
I'm baked up really, gorilla or a grizzly
Landing Lasgidi, on the way to Surulere
Let's get it, let's get it
This shit 'bout repetition
My outfit would hit for a Conor McGregor ticket
Wale Folarin really the hardest to rep the city
100 Yoruba demons you dreaming of messing with me
Let's
[Pre-Chorus: Kwesta]
Uzongithol' ekasi lam ke ke ke ke

Zirhinile socova kwasan ke ke ke ke

S'jimile awu phela nezam s'bekezele
S'bekezele, s'bekezele
[Chorus: Kwesta]
Awu mpintshi Spirit
Ungaphel' umoya saan, ntwana yam
Spirit
Aw ngisho wena, aw ngisho wena, ntwana yam

I love that Kwesta isn't an African artist trying to be American. I mean having Wale in a taxi and giving him the Kasi experience!!!! Absolute G!!!!!
Freakin hel
Ismail Mokoena I 100% agree with you
Wale is African
Everyone in South Africa is dealing with the hardships post-apartheid differently. The adults lean on traditions and religion while the youth take away the pain with drinking and partying and numbing the pain and struggle. But in this video they mirror their actions showing that we all do have a common ground and can come together to move forward. We are connected through spirit
The power....
Well Said...
Anele Malinga I would just like to remind you that the ANC have been in power for 24 years. The effects of apartheid should have been completely gone now for several years yet our country is still faced with corruption.
We as a nation need to stop blaming apartheid and start criticising who we vote for.
You talk as if apartheid government was in power for just 24 years or less. Our problems started in 1652 and give us the space to deal with our problems our own way. Black people in RSA have had to learn to cope since then and to change something that seems like it's culture/tradition can not be wished away by people who have no inherent understanding of our pain. I have never been raped so I can never say I understand how it feels and start telling rape victims to get over it... same whatsapp group
"The effects of apartheid should have been completely gone now". Please go say that to a holocaust survivor. How dare you even insinuate that a group of people, that you clearly don't belong to, should just not feel how they feel. Nowhere did I mention the effects of apartheid on the countries technical functionalities (even though there are plenty of examples of that too). This song simply speaks on scarred mentality and how that affects the people who have been affected by the past (they can be African, white, Indian, coloured etc. but this song focuses on African people) and effectively how and where they raise their children. I hope you learn and grow as a person instead of finding any chance to tell people to get over it while you sit on your high horse behind a computer screen.
I moved to Denmark last year. Been feeling so homesick over the festive season. Been playing this on repeat. This song is special man.
Spirit.
I feel like international artists should be so honored to do songs with our South African artists
Dude ... exactly 💯
💯💯💯
Artist's respect each other like that, they respect art not territory
I am a white South African and I love this song. Its GREAT. Respect to all my brothers out there.

Bantu languages are beautiful
Black people we are so damn BEAUTIFUL!!! 🤎🤎🤎Never let the world convince you otherwise. Such unapologetic imagery of African people simply just being is powerful, we need more of this. Black people being black and not trying to be palatable!!!✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
That's so true Palesa I wonder why our fellow people always seek validation from the other groups
Let everyone be. No one is seeking validation

It's pitiful that South African music is slept on honestly. We have some of the best and it doesn't get the exposure. Only a select few songs and artists.

MrSk8dr must return there soon...
KWESTA's video for his song Spirit has to be one the best representation of the socio-economic and Political landscape in South Africa.
The best thing on the video are the edits which are pretty simple but all the scenes are connected and there is coherence through the different sequences. The video incorporates everything that has to do with SA, violence, tradition, culture, religion, alcohol abuse, rap culture, kwaito, prostitution and xenophobia. He also pays homage to another fallen hero/soccer star from his location/town...that was amazing.
Besides that, the video is also a great way of executing product placement without making it obvious to the viewer...that's something we can learn from in Namibia. You enjoy the video so much you actually forget product placements and advertising for Heineken, Adidas, Score energy drink, Mr Price Red inc, VW and Lamborghini.
Shona Ngava Fitness .
What part of the vid represented xenophobia?
Wow, I didn't even notice the product placements cause the video is really nice.
Bro, this is so real. I'm from RSA, Wale must have learnt Zulu. He sang it perfectly, he could be a South African. Great song, it hits different 🎉
