    He should do a segue into ELO's 10538 Overture, or maybe a duet with Jeff Lynne. But that might make it too obvious where he nicked the riff from.

      @@TheMusicalElitist The intro and the riff is a direct nick from 10538 Overture but the rest of the song is his, doesn't detract from it being a great tune. Listen for yourself if you don't agree.

      @@jimmasters8204 Who may have lifted it from any number of Donovan songs, John Lennon's influence for the "Dear Prudence musically was the "Carter family picking" style used by Donovan in a good bit of his music, and who also taught it to Lennon.
      I think the take away here is that music is brought forward by newer artists. ELO states that the song "Classical Gas" was part of the influence for "Overture".....the title, by the way, is partially lifted from The Who's opening track on the album Tommy.......
      The musical circle of life until sampling became a thing......
