- Video 1755 is of an Evva DPI with a non-key. I managed to get it picked open and decided to hack it open to see what secrets it contained.

I love your honesty about not sensing the spool pins, etc. No fluff, no ego BS. Just good lock picking fun and analysis. Thanks!
EVVA is an Austrian Company, with headquarter in Wien (Vienna)
You flap your lips as much as you like, Bill. Always something to learn from you. The best.
"He cut us open!"
"It's number three's fault! I told you to let him open us real easy!"
I'm a Locksmith Here in the UK and we supply EVVA locks.
The sidebar serves the purpose of... if the lock is picked and the plug turned the top pins will be trapped into the sidebar.
Engaging the sidebar won't effect picking but will lock the plug if a full then is tried once picked...
Hope that makes sense.
If the picker knows about the sidebar, couldn't they just apply pressure to lift the pins back up?
Only pin 3 will fall in the sidebar groove, pushing that little square part that Bill missed @ 8:31. You'll need to find the little detent to push back the pin in its chamber and unlock the core
Thanks for sharing this info -- Interesting + other comments on this as well
Slightly off-topic, but why do you think that European / UK locks are so much more robust than their counterparts in North America? Is picking a bigger problem, or are people (and their insurance companies) more cautious?
@@BruceRobertson It's all about PRICE. US consumers are unwilling to pay for a quality product (and as a result it's almost impossible to find anything quality made, especially those "Big Box" stores); i.e., "Poorly Made In China"
Nice work Bill! That keyway alone would be enough to drive me crazy!
Great job Bill, big spools for sure.
Loving the slight bend in your picks Bill,Gives me hope for some of mine lol
My favorite part of this lock is the steel drivers. Surprise sentinels in chambers #1 & #2.
Nice picking even if it was made easier with the master pins. The game plan on #3 was a great idea and I'm sure I'll be including this into my strategy sometime. I call the Evva locks, evil locks because they're way to hard for me to open lol.
Anyway another great video. It's always a pleasure to see you at work
That keyway is enough to make you just want to throw it in the naughty bucket
I did like that one, very sneaky sending you the key like that, well done all around ;-)
as a pin is set too deep, it becomes very difficult to find because there is very little feedback. Interesting castle, rather difficult. I've already sat one (1 hour) on it. Bravo, very well explained & done.
"Guys, we have finally made nuclear fusion reactors running, solving the worlds energy problem once for all!" - "Shut TF up! We wanna know if Bill opens this EVVA!"
I'm new to lock picking and ordered a Chinese set that comes tomorrow that will probably suck but after seeing your videos I ended up ordering the sparrow kick start kit. I love your videos and love how you do giveaways.
Those spools could work as pillars in ancient Greece o_o
Now that's a lock worth buying. Very nice security measures.
As always: Nice intro, nice video!
Those spools were huuuuge. Well longer than I've seen b4.
That’s what she said.
Nice pick Bill!!
As always ...great video
Great audio presumably due to the blue plastic holder. Fun video!
Great job Mr.Bill your the man
Are you dehydrated Bill? Those long lasting dents in your fingers from holding items is a sign
WOW!!!
Huge spools in the bible. Surprised there's Room for them.
I like it when you say 'things' ; } - I just don't like it when it takes me so long to 'get it'.
~ but like any lock . . . Practice . . or Destroy! THANKS!
Would you recommend putting Evva EPS slider version on front door?
Morning Bill! I just got a DPI myself and it has a horrible ping pong problem where I set PIN two get a false set, set the spool on four dropped pin two lose the false set, set PIN two drop pin four so on and so forth. Its driving me nuts lol.
I was watching you take that clip off. Man u were close to locking it again.
Chopping the bitting off the key, How Rude 🤣🤣🤣
I saw better EVVA locks, anyway I think they are not made to resist picking as much as to resist drilling and brute force attacks for longer than some other locks. Would like to see some lock comparison when it comes to opening them with force.
That lock would drive me crazy.
A good pick and lock. Bill the Butcher defeated it and spilled it's guts in no time at all.😁👍🍺🇦🇺
actually, its Austrian lock, thats why a lot of them have written EVVA A (austria)
Someone please tell me how to get some of those Euro profile holders. I've never been able to figure out what description to search for.

great pick!! How can I get one of those locklab pinning trays?
3d printed one from a viewer I'd guess..
Crap you don't take challenge locks :( I just modified a American Lock 5200 U.S. it was my first ever mod I was calling greenhorn challenge its packaged and was about to be sent today haha
That was a very high cut biting.
Ye I know it is a blank dummies. Joking 🤣
Hi all, looking for some advice. I have a safe that takes a half euro cylinder and the one it came with just didn't look any good to me, no branding etc.
I don't have to worry about snapping or the like because the tolerances around the lock are extremely tight with the body and mech.
I'm looking at the ABUS E60 for a new one, (decent price) looks like it has good drill resistance, picking etc. What does anyone think? Thanks.
Anything with a euro cylinder really could not be called a safe since they are drilled out in a few minutes. A safe should take at least 15-30 minutes to get in to. Anyways regarding the cylinder, E60 only has 6 pins. You can get an Abloy Novel euro cylinder for £47.
We have very similar keys at work, wonder if you can hack it
You haven’t got a clip tool finally 😱 well Leathermans lol 😂
No more challenge locks?
What happened, did I miss a video?
Craftsman!!
I feel like there's gotta be a better way of holding cores together rather than those stupid circlips. There's like a 50% chance of hurting yourself with those. Those schlage screw-on things are better but still finicky.
Ok Bill, I’m sure you’ve had it up to here, hearing about any audio problems you may be having, but please hear me out. That little distortion from your voice is gone, but in this video I’m hear either an echo/reverb added to the sound or your mic is out of phase and your compressor/limiter is breathing too hard. Not trying to kick a dead horse, it’s just, I’m hearing this effect through the speaker on my iPhone and it is, in my opinion, taking away from what you are doing. We’re all try to make the perfect video (I know I am) so I only hope you take my criticism with a grain of salt. Btw; you picked the shit outta that lock!! Keep it up l!!
You're probably just being overly critical. I don't hear anything. He also said in another video that it's just the way his voice is
Where do you get those cliks on a camera. I'm a biginner and haven't got a crisp click even in my hand?
Evil Genious I think it's a combination of the 3D printed holder which amplifies the clicks and Bill's very expensive audio set up.
BB... if you can think of a Brit-Can you rolled-with... I’m back on FB (starting over) after being booted.... can’t track you or Pat down on there...Have a favor to ask...
Hey Kev! Bosnianbill1 at gmail
Actually, EVVA is Austrian company, not German 🙂
In fact this lock *could* be made in Germany.
EVVA has production facilities in Krefeld and Leipzig.
Wow all of the drivers are a mile long each.
Why no challenge locks?
Deathly Shadow People were trying the same modification again and again causing the plug to be trapped, this was when Bill was giving away Locklab padlocks when whipped by a CL.
Same play my EVVA DPI was giving me. What an annoying little lock
Bill: Calls DPI a very good lock.
All the people with ICSs, MCSs or 4KSs: What?
Btw Bill, why haven't you considered getting the "specialized tools for opening double-sided euro-profiles"? You basically need just a segmented follower.
If anyone can open my 4KS I would consider them a Lockpicking God.
@@jamesstrain7062 I think that 4KS is defeated a small handful of times on youtube.
There weren’t any master wafers in the bible when you open it up, so you would still have gotten it at the same amount of tries without them, right?
Yes you had more chances but you didn’t need them ;)
all those wafers there... couldn't it be rakeable?
why do you clamp the lock upside down?
He didn't. That's the way locks are oriented in the US. You can find them oriented that way outside of the US as well. It doesn't really matter and there's no right and no wrong way only advantages and disadvantages when it comes to picking. One advantage would be that the key pin part of set pins drops down which allows you to feel a difference between set and overset pins
@@saschaschneider6355 dankeschön! 👍
Dpi ?!?!
Bill people watch your videos to hear you talk! Don't be so negative
But challenge locks are so good to see.
