Julian Bliss is such an inspiration for me! I play the clarinet myself and am told I play pretty well, but Julian will always be someone i'll look up to and aspire to play like (:
i play this piece and i agree with you, except that hes really really good and hes playing in front of thousands of people--adding notes shows your creative talent.
Goddamn!!! That sound and the dynamics, so refined and mastered!! How the HELL?!?! I would just love to hear him play Carl Maria Von Weber's Concerto in F minor. I know I woooould! Probably play it like he was ghostwriter to it.
Only Neidich does this piece better and I think that is because Neidich has some age. The difference I see is in the use of dynamics and tempo at various points. But I very much enjoy this young man.
i love his playing, but i think the clarinet is an instrument you must hear live. it sounds weird on a recording, unless its very high quality. I absolutely love the sound of a clarinet live.
@caiogflopes Facial expressions are hard to make while playing the clarinet. If you had ever tried smiling while playing the clarinet you would realize that.
@clhscabandgeek32 Humph!!! Yeah, and I'm sure Wolfgang wouldn't have thrown a fit - not a bit - for what this remarkably cool clarinet-playing Kid in excellent professional taste embellished for all, including the Great Classical composer, to relish and cherish. I ain't heard much wrong, IF any, to compromise it's continuity, beauty and integrity. So the criticism is perfectly pointless, as I'm sure Wolfy would wholeheartedly agree. He himself took liberties with countless of others' opuses.
@caiogflopes Well SHIT!!! Then for now on you simply aught not to look, and let your ears do all the seeing!!! This Guy's an Awsome Ace who puts all expression in the right place and you had to get distracted by his face!!! Don't be such a blockheaded basket case!!!
Bravo. Hopefully, as I continue to practice I can achieve this level of brilliance. Thank your Mr. Bliss for an excellent performance.

Wonderful job. And has anyone else commented that this is actually a basset clarinet?

@ksm3327 I believe Mozart finished the piece and died in December of that same year.

Compare with Andrew Marriner, who is more mature and much better captures the spirit, wit and humor of Mozart. Still, much credit to Julian.
naaaa!!! el mejor es MArtin Fröst
naaa!! the best is Martin Fróst
his expressionless face makes the music desappear...
