The only player I know who could go into full-on shred mode in the middle of a rather emotional song without destroying the feel of it, without it feeling out of place. He was an absolute master. If you watch his right hand you'll see that he constantly adjusts the guitar's tone and volume knobs while playing in order to make sure that every passage, every lick sounds the way he intends it to sound, that the sound fits exactly what he wants to convey. Most players adjust these things maybe once or twice during a song, some maybe once or twice per show or not at all. He had absolute control of every aspect. Before shows he would walk around and put markers on the floor where he would e.g. get the most feedback i.e. where the amps would make the strings vibrate the most. While playing he'd then move to certain markers to aid in his playing and get the exact effect he wanted, the exact amount of feedback needed for that passage. It's amazing how easy and effortless he makes it look and how much work went into it to make it look this way.
Phenomenal! As a guitarist myself, who played hours and hours, on my instrument, I can tell you that: this guy is a monster! Everything is unbelievable, the guitar skills, thech'ics, the phrases, but more important, the emotion is puting into it! The guitar, is, literally, crying, singing, talking! No need to sing on that song! Absolutely phenomenal! PS: YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL BABY! 😂KISSES FROM FRANCE!
Thank you so much for reacting to Gary. I watched it today, 10 years to the day that the world sadly lost such a great talent. Kindest regards to you and stay safe. Thank you once again!
One of the greatest players to have ever lived. Fun fact-that guitar he is playing is nicknamed "Greeny"...it has a defect-the neck pickup was put in backwards-which gives it its unique sound. It's worth over a million dollars. It's currently owned by Kirk Hammett of Metallica.
The guitar he is playing here is called 'Greeny' It has a VERY special history. It was first owned by Peter Green (from the original Fleetwood Mac line up). On it he wrote and recorded songs such as 'Man of the World' and 'Albatross'. He then gave it to Gary when Gary was still a young man with an obviously wonderful talent. Gary had it for about 20 years. After Gary's death it was bought by Kirk Hammett of Metallica for a reported $1,000,000. Kirk plays it on stage for one or two songs. It has also been loaned at various points to many other great guitarists to be played on their albums. By the way your reactions were beautiful and from the heart. Thank you.
@Its MyrnaG. Great reaction. Gary was one of the best. I think that many people believe that number was originally from Gary but it was originally from Roy Buchanan another awesome player.
Duane Allman has to be at least in consideration for best ever. He died tragically at 24 in a motorcycle accident. He played a lot as a session player. He was great in that frame work. He's widely considered to be The Godfather of the modern electric slide guitar.
Hello once again from England 😁 As you know I was very pleased to see your reaction to Gary Moore. And thank you once again. I was wondering if you could react to another video of him? This time he is performing Still Got The Blues For You. You can see him singing as well as playing some brilliant guitar. I was fortunate enough to be at this concert, it was fantastic! Anyway, below is the link. I really look forward to seeing what you think. ruclips.net/video/_m7NVFhbx1I/видео.html Kindest regards to you. Take care and stay safe.
