that rubbish,can you do any maths? a two stroke has two power strokes .and a four stroke the half.its eco freaks killed the two strokes,so what?because they burn also oil.the kid is good ok.but the other riders also.eco freaks kind of banned the 2 stroker,and put technology into makeing high tech 4 strokes,that could match,the two strokes,had they still allowed the two strokers with the same high tech,they would still beat 4 strokes.2 strokers have been left behind.another point is,it is a totally different use of the throttle,2 strokes have less power,below,or above the power band,where as 4 strokes have a much more linear power spread.so yes the kid is good cause he knows how to ride a two stroke.you have just seen it!with half the cc.the kid knew he would kill them,he was riding,a faster,lighter,machine.and he knows what to do with it!track bikes in the eighties 500,750,had more than 200hp,the four stroke is doing a catch up game.if the same tech had been put into 2 strokes,a 750 cc racer would have 400hp,and be way too fast,like 300 mph,people gonna die i guess.its the safety /eco freak dudes,killed the two strokes.

Great ride!!! Liked how he kept it running after washing out that turn. Glad I went back to 2 strokes with advice from Max and got a 2021 150 sx. Pound for pound, it is the best bike going.

i dragrace an H2 750 Kawasaki Triple love beating BIG 4strokes with it .Have been a 9.05@144.... TWO STROKES FOREVER . This kid is an awesome rider congrats to him for killing it on the track.
I think that a crisp 125 on the pipe is about one of the sweetest sounds on The planet.

Man, just watching this kid shred made me gritty. I grew up racing 2 strokes and transitioned to 4 as I got older. I never really felt part of the bike like I did on a 2s The sound of a 2 stroke on the pipe is music to my ears. I never adjusted to the 4 stroke sound, hence why my 450f sits in my garage. Feeling nostalgic, Thanks KID!!!

Ah, Hawkestone Park, what a track. The uphill is a lot steeper than it looks on the gopro and the downhill part is brutal, those drop offs are gnarly and catch out riders all the time, when its wet, that whole hill section is a hell ride and this lad made it look easy. Props to him and I hope he has a contract in the future.

Soon people will find out, what motocross riders from the 80's and 90's already knew: 2 strokes are lighter, faster, more nimble and easier to maintain, and the 4 strokes are more expensive in everyway... I guess we now know why dealers want to sell 4 strokers.

Yes but lighter means worse in a race, because it's much harder to control as it has a whole lot less mass than a 4 stroker, people in such sports make changes for a reason pal. I too love 2 strokes but you gotta understand this
@@ghitzulll8398 yo pal, lighter is better, otherwise the factory teams would not being using titanium this and that, and carbon fiber this and that, aluminum here and there, shaving grams here and there. In fact, a big chunk of their R&D is dedicated PRECISELY to making the bikes lighter. So why not just hang lead weights on bikes LOL!!
@@deckard5pegasus673 yes, i get it, that's why i think before writing a comment, 4 strokes have more spinning parts inside the engine, that's why they also are heavier, but while a 2 stroke motor makes power out of high RPM's , 4 strokes make more power out of torque because of the higher compression, so 4 strokes are made for muscle and power, while 2 strokes are purely made for speed and racing, that is also why a 125 can get in front of all of those 4 strokers.

A 125 was my first "real" MX bike many, many moons ago. Loved it. So lightweight you could get away with murder on the thing..
It later went as a partial trade on a KX500..

When a two stroke has a good rider that is the natural result you can get. Two stroke is a superior technology, light, simple.

The oil must’ve been sssooo black😂 I just raced yesterday with a full stack at the gate. The CR stomped everyone at the whole shot (I raced against 250 and 450s) I got first too. I’m gonna get a GoPro and I’ll try to upload it🤘🏻

2 stroke rules every time. The 4 stroke moto cross sleepers have made this sport less interesting for sure. I watched Dave Thorpe tear it up here many times in the 80s I was riding at 5 and still riding at nearly 50 from drum brakes air cooled twin shock to whatever next. This chap on the 125 is totally flat out whoever you are you just made many people smile and chuckle in mad respect. Fair play to you.💪💪👍
You could tell the guy on the bike with the green rear fender (leader most of the time till a mid-race crash) was riding just as hard as he could. Both his feet were off the pegs at times. I was head banging to the beat of that two-stroke.
A rider this aggressive deserves the lightweight and punchy delivery of a two stroke. Plus, I personally prefer the sound of a two stroke, for competition machines particularly. A two stroke really urges the rider on.

I especially liked how the 125 guy gave it the gas, but then coasted over a double-brilluant! Who would have thought.
I was surprised that the 125 bogged going up the steeper hills: I guess I did all my 125 riding on relatively flat ground. Was on a KX 250 on legit motocross tracks.
I live the helmet cam also: I felt like I was on the bike and was stressing the braking into the berms.
I did not hear much shifting considering this track had some decent straight-aways.
Beautifully done! Just glad he picked the bike up and got going again, after that unlucky drop. Nice to see a two-stroke up the front again. Great rider to take on a full field of four-strokes AND Hawkstone Park, too. Sweet!

love it, most people think 2 stroke means oil mixed with fuel but it doesn't, most marine diesels are 2 stroke, 4 stroke engines will NEVER be able to compete with an equivalent 2 stroke, its just physics...2 strokes are far more efficient and reliable than an equivalent 4 banger...

Raced 2 strokes back in the day. Over 40 now as much as i love 2 strokes the 4 stroke for a more seasoned rider is a much easier ride. 2 stroke you really gotta work for it.
It’s crazy to see how far four stroke technology has come and how fast these 250f’s are now, and the good ol’ 125 is still keeping up. They should be racing 250two with 250four

There were a few 250 2 strokes racing in the Pro MX2 class at this race. No 250 2 strokes allowed in this class though as the results are split between 250's and 125

Hawkestone Park is the toughest moto cross circuit in the world and I have seen many world champions ride there.Two strokes were always lighter,quicker and easy to ride where a two fifty can outrun any four stroke .Also trials bikes of old using two strokes could plonk and "Bunny hop" far better than clumpsy four strokes.Its was this "green" nonsense that prevented more development of superior two strokes.By the way that kid is a brilliant rider!

Notice he is running the outside line to use the HP to accelerate for jumps to make sure he hits the landing. right. 2 stroke is all horsepower and no torque. So you gotta get a run on the jumps just in case you cant get that 125 into the power band on the short run.

I still have my 1998 2 stroke YZ 125 with a big bore kit or resleeved with big piston plenty of power for me and YZ 250 SUSPENSION to give it some stiffness and stability bought the bike brand new love its been while since I rode my bike its videos like these make me want to ride and that 125 was rippn.

Yep !! YZ 250 is the funnest motorcycle I have ever ridden !! I've raced street and dirt bikes, but a 250cc 2 stroke in the woods, and racing creek sand bars is as FUN as it gets !! EVAH !!

Very talented rider Iv been racing 125s since I was 14 years old he's definitely got it , still shows that its 95% rider input the bike is just a slave to the master lol miss the 2 stroke sound !!
Any reason why a two stroke is harder to ride, aren’t they both manual at the end of the day? I’ve only ever driven a 4 Stoke and never considered a 2 stroke hearing that u have to mix stuff for gas.
2stroke 250s should race with 4stroke 250s and so on. That would be fair. 4strokes will never match in power the 2 strokes. Period!
At our track, they use to run 125 2 strokes with 250f and 250 2 strokes with 450s. It boiled down to who could really ride and who cant. And everyone was happy. Never had a protest over bike displacement

when will people realize that the 2stroke powerplant is not actually a hindrance at all even after all these years of developmental neglect. and are actually the pinnacle of dirtbike technology. this temporary experiment into 4strokes an unfortunate misstep in dirtbike development.
Ridden 80, 125, 250, 300 and 500 2 strokes and the 125 was the most fun and in some way the most challenging to ride best times. One mistake you're done. 125 is a great class.
