This point, standing up not just for himself, not just for his family, not just for his planet, but for all Saiyans across two Universes, is where the Prince became the King for me. He might never be the hero of the story, but Vegeta is one of the most well developed characters in fiction.

You can worship Goku's eternal sloppy seconds all you like, but guess what? He hasn't really changed much at all. Less than Tien did actually. Look at how that last sentence is phrased. "One of the most well developed characters in fiction." That in of itself is pure, unadulterated, bullshit. Change my mind.
Started as an arrogant prince of a dead warrior race hell bent on fighting. The following arc he is still arrogant but puts his pride to the side to work with his former enemies to defeat a bigger evil (his former master). Cell saga he trains to become sttong enough to defend his new home, while still arrogant and prideful to a fault he has unknowingly grown fond of his new planet as he was more than capable of bailing and going back into space and even showed love for his son he didnt realise he was capable of. Buu saga he has become something of a family man and realising he has lost some of his warrior's pride he allows babidi to control his mind just enough to get that evil side back in order to fulfil his desire to fight and defeat goku, but upon realising his actions may destroy the earth he chooses to ignore his mind control and defeat buu. Realising he wasnt powerful enough to beat buu normally he chooses to sacrifice himself knowing he would go to hell because of the evil deeds he had performed in order to save his wife and son, upon being brought back to fight buu he shows remorse that his actions didnt make a difference and his family were more than likely dead, when he uses shenron to being back all the people killed by buu he specifically asks for all the GOOD people to be brought back not knowing he would be brought back as well, showing that his sacrifice and change of heart and genuine love for his family and new world had changed him. He was even able to throw away his pride to give goku the chance to end buu for good. He isnt the most well written character, but he is definitely the most well written in dragon ball

the most commonly accepted name of the form is Ultra Blue.... because Vegeta was trying to adapt the ultra instinct form he saw Goku using, but he ended up making it is own thing

It would’ve really shown some serious character growth if Goku was swapped out for Vegeta in Super’s final bout. The Prince would have to work with 17 and more importantly Frieza to save universe 7. Could you imagine? Goku would’ve actually been eliminated after MUI ran out just to give the trio a fighting chance in the last act. That would’ve been incredible.

Goku is entertaining when he's the underdog. it's a simple as that. neither one outshines the other, it's just about how to use their characters best.
@@thisaic2057 I couldn't disagree with you more on that point. Vegeta was never as riveting to watch as when he was completely outmatched. His last stand against Jiren was absolutely amazing because his seriousness makes his losses that much more impactful. As for Guko, the moments when he's crushing his opponents are when Goku is at his most entertaining whether that's messing around with Broly or dodging Jiren's every move.
This theme sent shivers down my spine and brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat, why you might ask? Because I grew up with 'The Prince Of All Saiyans' and seeing him evolve and fight for someone other than himself and what he was gonna lose. Sure Gokus stronger and the MC but he'll never have the love we fans have for Vegeta.
TBH there are more Goku fans worldwide than Vegeta lmao. Vegeta is only really more liked in North America

This is why vegeta is my favorite out of all dragon ball characters, he fights for a reason, his pride, he fights to protect the planet for a reason, to protect his family and friends, bulma, trunks, and bulla, he fights for what's right, he fights for everyone and everything, not just himself, he even went out on his own way to teach cabba to turn Super Saiyan and he didnt even know him, he, is a TRUE warrior, the best warrior there is out of the entire dragon ball franchise, this is why he is the prince of all saiyans, and you better believe it.
Yeah, Goku is the most selfish character in all Dragon Ball. He's only motivation to be strong is to demonstrate to others that he actually can beat anyone, he never had strougled in a fight for his family. Vegeta is more human than him xd
Vegeta was always an interesting character, his entire character arc shaped who he became. From a warrior who wanted nothing more but to be the strongest in the universe, filled with the thoughts that he was the prince, and wouldn't think of protecting anyone, to crashing through his limits by keeping a promise.
He doesn't fight for fun anymore, he fights to protect those he cares about. Trunks, Bulma, Bulla, and even Cabba, have shaped who he is now, a man who will not let his pride get in the way of what his character arc has led him to be.
Vegeta is a GOAT, a god, my favourite character in all anime history. Close second is saitama.

I love how all the notes are mostly separated on different sides of the screen but as the song gets progressively more complex the two merge. It’s kinda like Goku and Vegeta’s relationship. Both vying for the top spot in the beginning but eventually having to work together in order to deal with bigger and more complex threats.

When he went lssj, he overpowered Gogeta's super saiyan form, but got overpowered by Gogeta's super saiyan blue form. If their super saiyan forms are even, and broly's lssj is overpowered by gogeta's blue form, then super saiyan blue is stronger.
And blue evolution is a stronger super saiyan blue, thus being the strongest saiyan form

Vegeta deserves a real plus on his power-ups, I mean when he trains or pass through a Zenkai, he is not only increasing his level as Goku or any other Saiyajin, but he is waking up the royal lineage on his cells, I'm happy for Goku using the Ultra Instinct and also the fact that they have the intention to give Vegeta a new power level, but honestly they should have done better than just a new hair color.

Brings tears to my eyes when I think about the fact that vegeta has never once been the person to defeat the big bad. Never has he had a big moment of triumph that paid off all his work and his effort and determination to keep going further than his limits will allow him to. Just once I want Vegeta to get an ssj2 gohan esque payoff for all his character development.

My boy had developed a new transformation in the middle of a fight(which is a first for Vegeta), took down a literal God of Distruction and then had still enough power to try it with Jiren, if only he wasn't eliminated and was in the final trio it'd have been perfect. But yeah, I wish he'll had that big W one day, maybe as soon as the Moro arc who knows.

I went to earth when i heard about the dragon balls, and after fighting kakarot, something within me slowly started to form. From wanting to surpass him, to slowly becoming his rival. Both him and i have our own families, and we both train and fight each other. To protecting the universe, and to see how far we can go beyond our limits. We went to train with an angel to obtain the power of a god, and defended the planet we live on. We both care for our families. Our sons, our wives.... We will risk our lives to protect them, even if we have to fuse with either potara earrings, or that ridiculous dance from the metamorians. We have our own methods of breaking our limits....but he can keep this ultra instinct while i surpass him on my own terms, and my own training separate to his. I have kept my promises from my own son's, to a saiyan from another universe. Pride can be many things, but the pride of my race and my family is what keeps me going. I WILL FIGHT TO THE END, AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO REMOVE THE FLAME THAT GIVES ME THE WILL TO FIGHT!!! I am an earthling....AND A PROUD SAIYAN PRINCE!!!

This sounds like the Anthem of a kingdom, a fallen one to be exact, one that's being revived and destroying the completion.
Vegeta, naturally has more potential than Goku, being a Saiyan elite and Goku being a low class warrior. The thing is that Goku knew how to tap into his hidden power, he had several masters to guide him through hardships and learned the best martial arts combat and ways. With him having a pure heart, he had an unfair advantage against vegeta. Vegeta was a cruel person at the beginning, he never trained until he saw how strong Goku got, relying only on zenkais. Vegeta has always been a better character than Goku, he went from a piece of shit that everyone hated at first to the best well developed character, as father, as husband and as a person.
Honestly i hated vegeta at first but then i grew to love him as a character they way he keeps pushing himself he inspired me in a way i want vegeta to be the hero he rightly deserves it

His character arc is some of the best writing ever. Not just manga/anime, but in all of television/film/media. Vegeta is how you do anti-hero become hero.
Dude, Goku is not really a character but the force the rest of the cast wait to show up and win. Really the main characters are Vegeta, Gohan and Krillian because more of the show is about them.

It is good that for once that he got past Goku by getting the newer form first. Something he could truly be proud of.

He never got past Goku. The scene with this transformation has Vegeta paired with a SSJ Blue Kaioken Goku as they take on Jiren. Cinematically it shows that those two power ups were about equal. But Goku had already used Ultra Instinct before then and pressured Jiren far more with that than his and Vegeta’s tag team did. So, while cool looking, this transformation is just Vegeta catching up to a level that Goku already surpassed.

I like how Vegeta's theme sounds more heroic than Goku's. Ultimately while Vegeta was originally uncaring he learned to fight for other people, he puts his family above all else, pushing himself past his limits to make sure they are safe. He doesn't live solely for the fight like Goku, he makes sure that he protects what he built. A far cry from the planet conquering, hot blooded Saiyan that he was when we first met him. Vegeta is a truly special character, it was amazing watching him grow through Dragon Ball. To be perfectly honest I actually originally didn't like him, but his character arc made me see how amazing he is.
