Ladies and Gentlemen of NIN fandom, don't judge a drummer based on a 52 second drum solo from a gig he played with an entirely different band: see him perform, THEN speak your mind.
well prik - I think he's laid any doubts to rest. He's got the skills, energy and more. BTW, to the fool who called the "foot pedaling amateurish", that's all one foot bloke.
If you understood what the kid just did in this video, you wouldn't be asking such a question. But yes, he can do "Letting You", he can do just about anything Josh has done and possibly more. He's much younger than Josh, and probably will grow to be technically better than Josh by Josh's age. That doesn't mean he'll be better in every sense, or better musically speaking, but I'm just saying... The kid is not accidental, he knows what he's doing.
kevin-he is the most musical rock drummer out there today. He detests doing drum solos and says it in his Drum Channel 3 part interview. In this very bad clip, the Prophets walked off the stage and said go for it. It was completely spontaneous. FYI
If you knew anything about drumming, you'd understand what he's doing on the snare in the early part of the vid. That is not easy shit to do. Go learn and then comment. Better yet, wait to see him live, and then comment.
i totally agree with you, i just don't fully understand reznor actual choices, vrenna was great and dillon as well, they had something else, great drum secuences in the downward spiral or the fragile for example, well will have to wait and see, i'm not looking forward to it though
i have to give it to guy he's good , very good but man , I love Josh :( , i just hope he'll be as kickass , I think he'll be okay , anyway trent is a pretty '' picky '' person teehee
I would agree with that. As for the solo in this vid; not that impressive, but then neither is the quality of the vid. I know for a fact though that he did not use a double pedal for that solo.
You're basing that on technicality, in which case, if you knew any better, Jerome is better at many things versus Josh, AND VICE VERSA. So, close the lips.
yeah i'll have to disagree. dillon was probably the best drummer nin had. his jazz background made for better more interesting fills. he just had better control over what he was playing i thought.
Good video, i could hardly even see him from where i was standing. They were amazing. x =)
I remember Ian saying that we got this for encouraging Ilan. great night
ha this was awesome.
Probably the best gig i've been to.
Ian Watkins was the drummer in the band "public disturbance" and he left to sing in the AL mighty band lostprophets, good on him. :D
great night loved it!
As a NIN fan, I actually feel reassured having seen this! Its all going to be fine lol.
God Damn it... so good.
that is one kickass drumset.

EXACTLY what i was thinking :D
I reckon he's equally good, if not better than him now. He's got everything nailed.
so underrated
that is hilarius!
Monster.
amazing night ^_^
true that!
Holy mother of god. . .
hes gonna rock the fuck out of
perfect drug
live for us
Nice, NIN's new drummer.

OMG! It's Animal from the Muppet Show! :)

Trents gonna grow a fro for sure!
Flash! Flash! Flash! and Haunts.

Wow... too bad you can't enjoy the last three albums. Your loss. Thanks-have-a-great-life-goodbye!

Win.
Um, yep.
And you can tell this from a shitty 30 second vid taken by a cell phone. Wow! That's impressive.

@DragonforceOff
HE GOTTA PLAY NIN NOT LOSTPHROPHETS
Lostprophets? NOFX??
NIN??!!??
And for the moment, funnier. Though I'm not sure about better.
si se da un tiro con travis barker
either get vrenna back or give dillon a call. i could give 2 shits about freese or this dude.
holy fuck. is he human?
...he's got brown hair dude
damn. limp bizkit. thats kind of harsh. lol
You're basing that on technicality, in which case, if you knew any better, Jerome is better at many things versus Josh, AND VICE VERSA. So, close the lips.
Not impressed, so the guy can use a double drum pedal, big whoop. I dunno if he can handle nin, hell nin has been around as long as he has been alive
I'm sure he'll do the trick, but I'm not excited about him joining the band.
he's good...but he's no Josh Freese!
He's good, but I bet he can't beat "The Perfect Drug" on Rock Band!
This comment is amazing considering he joined NIN and then nailed perfect drug a few years ago! The dude is a beast
NIN is really starting to suck in the hair department now. Scary stuff.
I dont like him..... Josh is ten times better
This guy plays drums like he styles his hair. GAY.
yeah i'll have to disagree. dillon was probably the best drummer nin had. his jazz background made for better more interesting fills. he just had better control over what he was playing i thought.
