You never know when you might need a good lawyer. And a saw blade is like a banjo or dobro or any other finicky instrument. I've seen a door open and everything in the whole room go out of tune. Nice logs and nice sawing too! When you were checking the camera you cou;ld hear ye olde bus motor singing it's song! Good video Mark and T.H.E. Happy happy and I'm growning some chin whiskers back to try and hide some of the ugly. And the girls like it. They say I don't look so HARSH. Oh well. Happy girls!! GBWYall! (Us'ns) here on the swamp
Who cares who else watches!!! I DO, and I love watching your videos! (Yes, I know you care that people are watching). You are much more entertaining than a Bucco game would be right now...
Mister Mark if you had a water hose spraying water on that blade would it have cut better just curious I know you said you needed to have a re hammered I was just wondering if water would have helped it for a temporary measure love your videos you and Eddie be safe stay warm and have a very merry Christmas and Happy New years Sam
Mark If your saw is heating up it sometime could be you got your guides set a little to tight. Have you recently tightened the guides? Also is the saw hot in the eye or out closer to the rim. You might need to adjust your lead. Wish I was there to see what it is doing in person, might be able to help you out. Anyway the lead looks good to me, but not sure. The nut tension on the flange of the blade is also very critical. To tight or loose can cause a saw to over heat as well. If that is the new saw, I would not think it would need to be hammered yet. You should be able to get many hours out of a new saw before it needs to be hammered. Anyway, I’m not a expert, but I have had these same issues on my mill. You might want to ensure your track is straight and level, and check your Babbitt bearings too. Sometime after you grease them the saw will run a little funny. Good luck fellas, and I enjoy watching. Sam
Got my popcorn ready for this awesome video Mark, You & Eddie make a great team building that saw dust bin. I like it,,, I love it,,,, I want more of it, I will share it to get more people to subscribe. And I am from the heart of Iowa!
Another great video today Mark. Thanks to you and T.H.E Eddie Horvath. I have a couple of questions. Why don't you take a bigger first cut? You're going to have to get past a certain point anyway. Seems like it would be easier on the blade with fewer cuts. Also, I would love to see how you turn those slabs into dimensional lumber. One more, are you selling the lumber in your local area?
Hello Mark and Eddie; I went to the place to get a flag and the guy asked what size? So what size? There are, 3 X 5, 4 X 6, or 5 X 8. You pick one, I don't know. Also do I send it to that CA. address? Thank You and Stay Safe,
First of your videos I have watched and although very interesting the commentary while heavy machinery is going in the background spoils the effect as speech is very hard to understand. Or maybe it's just me. The same applies to letsdig 18 videos and I stopped watching his as the sequence of the videos are too hard to follow. Never mind. Will try a few more just in case it is me.
Is there a 3rd person working the edger while you and TGEH are cutting? If so, some camera shots of that would be nice. Provided that doesn’t require the expense of another camera and tripod. As a P.S.U. grad., (‘74/Broadcast Journalism), I feel obliged to lodge a formal protest against the exclusion of my alma mater from your great pantheon of flags! As a Western Pennsylvania located mill, you can reasonably justify inclusion of PA school flags only. That’s likely to subject you to Pitt, Temple, Slippery Rock and maybe Penn in addition to Penn State.
That’s how teamwork gets the job done. Everyone having a great time doing it also. Nice job sawing out that spruce. I’ve been trying to find a way to cut it that nice on a bandsaw for 30 years! Knots are like rocks. Nice operation. Be safe.
Hello Mark and Eddie; Always looking forward to your videos. Can hardly wait for the next one. Keep them coming. I noticed the bus motor looking cleaner than before. Good Job. You're talking of replacing the 56" blade and putting the 52" back on. Question. How big of a blade can you go? Can that old '238' push a 60 inch blade? Also How about multiple cameras? Of course one on Eddie would be great, but for a novelty how about one in the saw pit? Or it might be better if you had one that could focused in line with the blade from way back to give you view next cut from in your box? I suppose the cost would nix that idea. How much will that green wood curl? I think I saw that first roof board curling up while Eddie and you were putting on the siding. It might be just he camera angle. Thank you and stay safe.
thanks Don , a 56" saw is largest saw that we need the 671 could run it but it is more maintenance . we only have one camera & very hard to edit more video.
Another great video. Bus Motor Construction does nice work. That sawdust shed looks great! It's was nice to see the Ohio flag when you panned the camera toward the right! David sent you some nice masks! THE Eddie Horvath looks like an old west bandit! Very nice sawing even with a wobbly blade. Time to put the smaller saw on and get the 56" hammered into shape. Have a great week!
Mark and Eddie looking good guys, we just had two truck loads of logs given to us, the mill will not take any logs over 23", so this tract which was cut down had trees up to 32'' so we got a lot of big logs, most are 14ft long and a few longer. On the band saw mill we use water to cool the blade, can you do that on that type of mill? Have a good one always enjoy watching, and the FLAGS
