@@onesneak7668They do not come with pepper balls. You have to take a special course to buy or use the pepper balls. I bought a SD kit and purchased some ball bearings and some practice orange plastic balls. It's ok for what it is. This man is correct that the BYRNA brand stuff is super expensive. You can find the same quality stuff from other sites.

I think you did a great job and I learned a lot about the Byrna product. You actually were able to fire all rounds from the three magazines because you over fired the 11 round (you fired 12 times) and the five rounder (you fired 6 times). If you hadn't over-fired those 2 magazines you would have emptied the 7 rounder too! Really appreciate your educational video as I am looking to get into this type of protection and after researching I feel Byrna will be my weapon of choice.

Rather its a byrna, pellet, bb, or HDR50, one thing is for sure. Having something is better than nothing and when you can carry any airpistol that's hitting at least 400 Fps .177 or 350 FPS .43 .50 cal along with pepper spray/bear spray and a knife, you good bro. That combination is a game changer. As far as going to war, I'll take it to their ass with any of my AEA's. Just because you have a firearm on you don't mean you can't be hit. A weapon is a weapon

    MAJOR UPDATE
The byrna LE is still loud AF.. I'll deem it as a cop caller.. I ALSO ran into a CO2 ejection problem that broke the puncture needle.. let's see how byrna reacts and if they willl fix it no cost.. otherwise its a fun adult toy.. if you are considering concealing keep in mind its a full size so youll want to be a taller person
What i like about the byrna is its something you can shoot for fun as well.. the grimburg gavel pistol is literally like asking for the cops to show ho which is good because your in trouble and need help but you cant shoot it willingly.. the salt supply s2 outshoots byrna easily however got that knob pointing out your shirt

I believe there are less expensive options that are better alternatives now from umarex that shoot rubber balls, steel balls, and pepper balls for 169.00. Look at the TR50 11 Joule model. Shoots a powerful 485 fps and uses standard 12 Oz C02 and doesn't jam. It also won't leak out the air because you tap it when you need to use it.

So does the 12 gram co2 work in the SD without that silly extension/that you dont like ? because i think Byrna says in order to operate the SD you need that piece which clearly your video is suggesting you dont need it,some conflicting info out there but thats not unusual.

Very informative video, thanks for posting. I am considering purchasing a Byrna and although I agree the boost adds bulk and doesnt look great, in my country the 12g cannisters are half the price of the 8g ones and give off more shots. So for the same price, a pack of 10 8g cannisters will give approximately 200 shots, while 2 packs of 12g cannisters will fire 600 shots. Just going to work out far cheaper in the long run if I want to use it for target practice. But for concealed carry, I tend to agree, the SD plain and simple is best.

You just cannot buy pepper balls in California. Head to Reno, or Las Vegas and get some there. As for carrying them, they are not considered lethal weapons like switchblades and brass knuckles, but I would not want to be stopped with it because it could cost you in court. It is hard for me to imagine that using them for self defense would be a problem. I would not pull the Byrna unless my life was being threatened. If that were the case, then I could use anything at my disposal, and that includes pepper spray and pepper balls. Those were developed for self defense against human threats. Use bear spray, and you could find yourself with a problem in court. Call the Byrna store in SoCal and talk to them about licensing for pepper balls in California.

Ive seen le brynas start at 450 for first few shots then drops to mid lower 300s, the ep like starts at lowe 300s and before it runs out like mid to upper 200s, ive seen test on these all different, i guess crossnan, umarex co2 etc, seem to be different on how much pressure that are filled in them!

I think you have to buy le gun that comes with booster for more power, the actual le gun it self have a different valve that gives your first shots around 400fps before dropping consistent to upper 200fps, with the older ep and sd a booster will only give more shots but not more power, but ep and sd just don't start out with enough fps for me, I rather have a modded hdp 50 or just stick with my mub 50, the le is to expensive for only 3 to 4 powerful shots before dropping to ep sd speeds!

I know some of the calibers are smaller, but wondering if the stuff like byrna would be outperformed by a standard paintball gun amped up and loaded with the same .68 rounds that would fit in both.
Reason I bring it up is I have one of the T4E double barrels and it seems like a normal paintball gun would be capable of hitting a Lot harder🤔

I just found out about Byrna and other launchers. I thought the same thing and started looking up paintball pistols. From what I have heard on a few different videos, it sounds like these types of launches fire much faster and could cause paintballs to explode in the barrel. So, I'd assume the paintball guns fire softer and probably couldn't get the desired result from a rubber ball.

@@southern_pride0 Appreciate your reply, but these launchers are not decades old for one, so we simply do not know yet. Yes you are correct, when we talk about mag springs used for fire arms. But these are launchers, we actually have no clue what queality spring they use for them. It's not stated on the website and we don't have the luxury of decades of user data. (yet)
I can imagine that the better brands like Byrna utilizes the same quality springs like a fire arm but this T4E compact . . . the spring feels almost like an oversized ballpoint spring.
Then there is another issue, the projectiles/balls. Depending on the material, they will get dented on two spots making them harder to load while the seal between te projectile and the barrel is ccompromised.
Although I agree with what you say, I think we can't simply apply decades of knowledge of fire arms to these relatively "young" launchers.

@@jbhk7977 dude, it’s a fucking metal spring. when it’s in a static position, nothing happens. when it’s in an active position, it’s slowly degraded over time. it’s literally one of the most simplest things to understand

@@southern_pride0 Like you said, it's the most simplest things to understand, so why don't you understand? The word metal is a collective name for many different
metal alloys. Not every metal spring is the same . . ."DUDE". Common is the 17-7 stainless steel spring for mags, but there are many other types of springs. A good example are car springs. Old Man Emu is prone to sag while Rough Country does not. They look the same, they have the same purpose and both are made out of "metal" dude . . . so don't be a smart ass because you talk nonsense.
