Imagine: you were young watching this movie, you had absolutely no idea how epic this movie actually is. It is for sure different than any other movie for children. And now that you’ve grown up, you realize how much luck you had that you watched this movie:)
My dad worked in another country and was not home very often, but once he gave me the DVD of the Polar Express and I watched it so much that the DVD was all scratched up! (I think it was little kiddo me who was not careful at all with the DVD). This movie is so beautiful, the trains, the music and now of course nostalgia.
I remember there was a time when I was a younger kid and in school they brought the entire school to the gym sat us down gave out hot chocolate and we watched this movie. Still one of my favorite memories of school ever.
"On Christmas Eve, many years ago, I lay quietly in my bed. I did not rustle the sheets. I breathed slowly and silently. I was listening for a sound - a sound a friend had told me I'd never hear: the ringing bells of Santa's sleigh."
I used to watch this movie every Christmas… man I remember it all, my dad teaching my how to plow snow with the ATV… Me and my brother playing in the snow, and building snow forts… Family that would come over and have one big feast before we went to bed… I remember going to New Orleans for Christmas one time, and they had a tradition where on top of all the levees they would build huge firewood towers and light them on Christmas night, the reason why is so that Santa wouldn’t forget about Louisiana… And some Christmas’s we would go to my grandparents home, they lived smack dab in the middle of the woods too… I remember grandpa and his ATV and Christmas Sled, he’d take us on rides down the snowy dirt roads, the woods we would go through were so beautiful in the winter time…. Then a logging company came through and cut the trees down right to the property line, cutting off the back trails used for hunting… I went there last year and did my best to clear them out, but i got stopped… And grandpa passed away a year ago from lung cancer, I was crushed, but when I went back to my grandparents home, grandma said that when it’s winter and family is there, I can drive family on the same dirt roads he did, and now I pull the sled, my little nephews and nieces ride the sled now… god I love those little ones, they act just like I did with grandpa, one of them is autistic, and he LOVES sled rides, I ride him around as often as I can in the winter… I remember grandma making us some of the best food in the world… I remember my older brother who would teach me how do batshit crazy things, like how to drift the ATV on the small parking lot next to our home, it would always freeze over in the cold seasons… My little brother and me, man we were inseparable… Christmas will always hold a special place in my heart. So those were my Christmas times, what about y’all?
I can’t listen to this in public. Heck, not even around my family. I have such a deeply rooted, personal connection with this film, that this cover can’t not bring me to tears. I kid you not, I’ve listened to it countless times and I have NEVER completed it without breaking down into a mess of tears. It makes me so sad when people hate on this movie, because of their opinions on its animation or plot line. To me, this movie was the very definition of Christmas spirit. I consider it an absolute masterpiece, to the point that I genuinely get a little offended when people dig on it. This is one of the most masterfully produced pieces of media in animation history and holds a very special place in my heart.
i don't think that, but they can't do it, because this movie was based on a book with the same title, by Chris Van Allsburg, author of jumanji and zathura
The Polar Express 2: Always Believe (or marketed just as The Polar Express 2 in some regions) is a 2019 computer animated family movie, which is a sequel to the 2004 film The Polar Express From Google
Everyone's talking about the truly epic score (I agree with this as well!) but no one's talking about how the poster correctly shows the Polar Express wrapping around the mountain WITHOUT curving like a snake, which was a goof in the movie!
Not so sure if that was a goof, honestly. I’m pretty sure that was intentional. The drive wheels on the locomotive would’ve never made that incredibly sharp curve and high incline right before leaving the mountain onto that large bridge. Plus, the length of the engine, tender and those passenger cars, if they stayed rigidly straight like real life, would make the train look too uncomfortably bunched together on those super sharp turns on the mountain. Lastly, it’s a magic train, too. Just stuff to think about when it comes to “realism” in an animated movie.
@@TheBallWithTheShield Oh, yes, of course. This poster looks phenomenal, but it’s a still image. When the train was moving in the movie, it wouldn’t have look so good is all I’m saying.
I carry a bell in my purse so every time I open it it jingles. Happy thoughts immediately, so uplifting just to hear a jingle bell ring. I still believe!!!!!
It is odd to me how im almost aging with with this film , in a few days this film will be 18 years old , through 18 years of my life this soundtrack has moved me and to hear it now like this moved me even more
Every time someone talks shit about this movie. I ask them "In what other movie does a train drift?" They dont respond "exactly" I then say. Proving my point
I have such a special bond and connection with this movie, it gives me such a nostalgic feeling I can’t explain. It will forever have a very special place in my heart. I will watch this every Christmas til the day I die and make my future kids watch it as well. The songs just make me feel so sad and empathetic but also joyful at the same time, I wish I could watch it for the first time again!!
Bro this made me so happy even 4 years later thank you. This also made me realise Alan Silvestri composed two movie soundtracks about flying trains lmao
One of my favorite movies and soundtracks of all time. Everytime I listen to the soundtrack it brings back the magic of christmas for me, not very many other songs can do that.
This movie, how to train your dragon, and pirates of the Caribbean are top three I know of in terms of legendary music and just legendary status in general. My top three movies/series of all time
