Oh my GOD those exchange rates are upping the prices so much!!! I had no idea Canadians paid that high to get products from U.S.... damn girl u dedicated :') loved this video
The exchange rates don’t actually “change” the price of the swimsuit. You’re still paying the same amount but it’s just that the Canadian dollar is worth less than the American dollar so it seems like you’re paying more for the swimsuit in Canadian
Lol I work for the government and have to explain customs here! Duties and taxes are applied on orders imported into our country by the Canada Border Services Agency, the company you buy from has no control. These fees are based on the total value of your order and type of item you are importing. Different items, are charged different percentages. Also, we have set exchange agreements with US and Mexico so if you buy a US product that is physically made and sold from the US no duties are applied. Also, with the amount of orders processed at our borders every day, you often aren’t charged duties because they simply can’t check every single order so often we basically get lucky :)
I'm from Germany and that's definitely not true for my country. Companies can have deals with the countries they ship to so there won't be any costs for the customer, at least none that come as a surprise. Obviously it might make the items themselves more expensive but I think that's absolutely fine, but playing russian roulette everytime you order not knowing if you will be hit with customs or not is just ridiculous. So the companies definitely CAN change this for the customer.
@@pupsiwurm7390 It depends on how you look at it! The company websites always clearly state that international customers may incur duties and taxes on their purchase and to refer to your countries import regulations. You are correct that some companies do offer a pre-pay duties and taxes option as you checkout from the store. Personally, I never opt to do that though because, as I mentioned, not all packages will be automatically obligated to pay and so I rather take a chance.
Ok on second thoughts it's kinda pathetic the d cups gotta leave the chat, cause they're not even that big or uncommon (provided people are wearing the right size)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think the retail company sets the customs. That's our Canadiam government, yo, punishing us for not buying something within Canada.
Unfortunately companies have nothing to do with custom charges. I’m a fellow Canadian and half the time I pay customs on my shoe dazzle order and the other half I don’t. I feel like if it gets tagged in customs for inspection then you get charged with customs charges. It’s why I try to shop out of the uk more cheaper and quicker shipping for everything.
gena geeraert im not Canadian, but could you explain why the cheaper package had higher tax? I’m from Denmark and if a package at that price gets caught in costs it’s a set price of 20-40$ import fee + VAT fee that is 25% of the price before shipping and if it’s over about 200$ you pay a tax fee of 12% on top of that. So that would take it up to over 100$ in custom fees on top of the already high price of the bikinis
All of our provinces have different taxes so I’m in bc I may pay more in tax than Ontario. Plus it also depends on where the item is made. If it is actually made in the states we pay higher duties and taxes. Also I have never had an American company pay my customs. They all make it completely clear that your on your own for custom fees. They may handle the fees for you through border free but your still paying them.
gena geeraert I forget what company it was but when I bought something, the company covered the duty costs for my package. I’m in Ontario so like you said it may be different but I absolutely hate duty fees and I’m pretty sure they pick and choose what needs to be payed for because when I bought my Michael Kors wallet (which is pretty expensive) I didn’t have to pay anything but when I bought $50 sunglasses I had to pay $45 on top of it in fees.
@@sarahmarini4442 Wow that's almost as much as you paid! That would make me so angry because you just pay for something you didn't ask for! I can not believe it. I'm from Europe and we never have customs and almost never pay more than €10 for shipping!

@@LalandeAndCo The exchange rate is actually less than buying from the US for Canadians to order from Australia. I am from Australia and am much more likely to buy stuff from Canada than the US, because the exchange rate is a lot better.
I don't think you quite understand what customs fees are for. Customs fees are typically out of the sellers hands and usually they charge on packages pretty randomly. You're luckier if you pay for the cheapest shipping to not get dinged by customs.
Customs is actually on the value but they check big boxes more often. The company does not have any impact on customs (in Europe you should pay customs for all over 20 EUR packages but you don’t because there’s too many, so they let the small go free).
I googled it. Canadians are allowed to import stuff worth up to $150 without incurring customs tax. In Australia it's $1000 thank god! It's about the value of the parcel not the weight. I have heard that some retailers mark the parcel as a gift so their customers won't get the tax. Though maybe less do that these days coz it is technically fraudulent
I love watching your videos because as a fellow Canadian I think many US based youtubers don’t account for crazy shipping/exchange fees us international countries face. You’re great!! 💖
As a fellow Canadian, customs often turn me away from purchasing from brands for a second time. I honestly think if brands were more willing to cover some of the customs, they would make more profit overall. Or at least, be upfront about how much extra costs there will be (like what VS does). Personally, I've had bad experiences with elf cosmetics, lulu's, misguided and kylie cosmetics because of how much customs were.
I love watching your videos and it makes me so happy that your channel blew up instead of a lesser deserving person you really do deserve it and I hope you carry on with the amazing content
Please do another designer swimsuit haul!! Here are some Hawaii Brands that every local girl wears LOL: - acacia swimwear - benoa - posh pua - lali + layla - mikoh
HEY MIA! i have a cool video idea i think. i’ve noticed on wish that some of the product photos on clothing or swimsuits is copied from other websites and the seller on wish just uses their own product with the photo from the website. i think it would be cool if you took the wish picture of one of the products you are buying and reverse google image searching it and find the website that it was originally from and but it from there. then the whole video would be about if it’s the same product from the wish add and the original website or if it was completely different. i love you and i hope this can be one of the videos on your channel! 💛 emma
You should totally try HOAKA SWIMWEAR it’s a Canadian brand from Elisabeth Rioux, the bikinis are worth the price and not even that expensive , and they’re soooo pretty and comfortable, they’re offering free shipping in Canada and also express shipping 😊 you really should try them ! 😊💖
I usually buy 1 swimsuit from Benoa a year. They actually last really long like a few years. I definitely recommend Benoa and Acacia although those are both brands that do not have padding. They are very popular amongst the locals here in Hawaii.
Angela Obscura that’s what I thought. I doubt that customs are different in countries. My country has a minimum price that gets no customs, and if they decide to check your package and it’s more that the minimum price, you get charged. Brands have nothing to do with customs...
No company's have the ability to pay the customs for you in advance, victoria's secret has this kind of system when they ship outside of the US, and some stores like hbx pay you the import tax back if you get charged. So there could be improvement.

You look so great in all these swim suits BUT THAT LAST ONE THO
GIRL!!!
Customs is about the weight and size. It's charged by the mail service, not the clothing compang.
Naomi Hammond I think her point was that they put it in such a big bag which is why it racked up so much customs.
Though maybe less do that these days coz it is technically fraudulent
it goes by value, not weight. If they marked it as a gift (which they should have, it's common sense) she wouldn't have to pay anything.
@@mermaidelf54 It wasn't a gift, so that would be illegal. She was importing goods.
I love how you covered cheap and expensive bikinis throughout a couple of videos.
Your makeup looks 10/10 in this video. That lip choice is amazing
You should try Hoaka Swimwear! The fabric is neoprene like Triangl but it’s a Canadian brand! 😊
I love watching your videos because as a fellow Canadian I think many US based youtubers don’t account for crazy shipping/exchange fees us international countries face. You’re great!! 💖
It's January but I'm already looking for swimsuits and watching swimsuit hauls 😂😁
garad _kinga I bought two swimsuits the other day! I tried to find some last summer and I couldn't not find some anywhere so buying them while I can!
@@KatieRoy120 and they might be cheaper now
garad _kinga yeah they were super cheap. £8 each
Where I live it’s always hot like it’s actually 76 degrees outside right now so 😭
poliknoy I live in Scotland so it's definitely not always hot haha
As a fellow Canadian, customs often turn me away from purchasing from brands for a second time. I honestly think if brands were more willing to cover some of the customs, they would make more profit overall. Or at least, be upfront about how much extra costs there will be (like what VS does). Personally, I've had bad experiences with elf cosmetics, lulu's, misguided and kylie cosmetics because of how much customs were.
So glad your youtube is getting more noticed! You deserve it!
S M Can you take a dump on me?
Try Good American jeans, Khloe Kardashian’s brand!!! They are super duper expensive tho
Omg your hair looks SO GOOD brightened up like that! It works so well with your skin and eyes! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
You looked the best in the Triangl Flower Print !
It softened your look and brought out your best features !
*Mia making my jaw drop for 19, minutes straight*
love ya
I love watching your videos and it makes me so happy that your channel blew up instead of a lesser deserving person you really do deserve it and I hope you carry on with the amazing content
Yayy I had requested this video Mia ...thank u for making it 😍😍❤️❤️😘😘
They were great but I agree sooo expensive for just a swimsuit. Nice video!
Please do another designer swimsuit haul!!
Here are some Hawaii Brands that every local girl wears LOL:
- acacia swimwear
- benoa
- posh pua
- lali + layla
- mikoh
Mia you should do a collab with amber scholl 😍
louise rhodes omg 😯 that would be iconic
@@marynamarzeena8018 there would be so much sass
The triangle bikinis looked the best in you and those bags really make it work the price plus the best material
I thought the black one by Frankie's was very flattering to her figure too.
Can we just sit here, and appreciate how pretty Mia is?😌❤️
HEY MIA! i have a cool video idea i think. i’ve noticed on wish that some of the product photos on clothing or swimsuits is copied from other websites and the seller on wish just uses their own product with the photo from the website. i think it would be cool if you took the wish picture of one of the products you are buying and reverse google image searching it and find the website that it was originally from and but it from there. then the whole video would be about if it’s the same product from the wish add and the original website or if it was completely different. i love you and i hope this can be one of the videos on your channel!
💛 emma
hey my names Emma, too!! that would be such a good idea. Really interesting, love that lol. 🙌💕
you should do a video where you order all of the things you really wanted as a kid/teen lol
NO. IT'S NOT WORTH IT.
I'm sure I don't need to watch this entire thing to know
Seagulls
Aliexpress has cute neoprene bikinis for like 10 bucks, it would be nice to compare them to the triangl ones!
Can we just mention how STUNNING Mia looks in this video, not like she does not look beautiful in any other video but she really popped off! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I'm a relatively new subscriber but I binge watched all these haul videos and LOVE THEM!!
Aileen Gomez her hauls are the best!
I was so sad today. Thank you for posting. Your videos always seem to cheer me up :) love you Mia ❤️
Margarida Domingues her videos are the best! Hope you’re feeling better
I love your eyelashes in this video more than any of your other ones!!!
and your makeup is perfect!!!
Hey Mia, customs aren't decided by the company its by your country. Its most likely because they sent it FedEx however.
SO NICE to see a fellow canadian :)) and btw, those models have nothing on you youre absolutely stunning !!! subbed :)
For some reason this showed up in my recommended videos section... did not disappoint. You are literally perfect, like the exact girl I see in dreams.
"it covers quite a bit"
Both butt cheeks hanging out 😂
😂😂BTW I also make emotional wedding video in my channel plz give me some comment Big thanks 😘Amber
She loooks beautiful in every freaking video........... HOW?? ❤️❤️
Btw love your nails👌🏻👌🏻💅
I would've died spending that much! You're such a sweetheart you literally spent THAT much for your subscribers ♥
Hoaka is also a “high end” neoprene bathing suit brand but they’re a little cheaper than triangl and they have TONS of sizes.
That pink shell swimsuit oh my god I want it
I usually buy 1 swimsuit from Benoa a year. They actually last really long like a few years. I definitely recommend Benoa and Acacia although those are both brands that do not have padding. They are very popular amongst the locals here in Hawaii.
Yaaayyy Mia !! LOVE YOU SO MUCH.. All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦
@@hannahf2582 omg a fellow South African on Mia's channel 💖
You should do the 'i turnt into a celeb for a week' thing
amie woodford yesss! I’d love that
As soon as she said "this reminds me of a race..." an ad with a race car from a Walmart AD came on XD Love ya Mia xo
You’re getting me in the mood to REALLY want to buy swimsuits mid-winter 😭😭😭
Don't know about in Canada but customs has nothing to do with the company who sent it here... so it's not really something you can complain about.
Did not expect to stay and watch but glad i did. you are adorbs! thanks!
Am I the only one that wants to see her workout routine?
omg can drop that asap :)!!
WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS MIA. Summer's around the corner!
@To Release is To Resolve ...is that supposed to be funny?
Mia Maples OMG YES PLS
To Release is To Resolve bitch wtf
