Thanks for uploading this! I like the parts in chapter 1 where you cautiously hold up a crucifix to everything. I like to imagine him wandering around the old abandoned farmhouse, attempting to exorcise a potted plant.

The camera sequence at 2:05:56 was surprisingly pretty tense. It had gotten to the point in the game where the initial spooks of the mechanics and atmosphere was something you were now used to, so giving up the one thing that had gave you comfort and security and switching up the mechanics was genius
That was done in the movie Saw in 2004. I'm willing to bet it was done before that at some point, too. Still a good use of it.

I was clenching every muscle in my body during that sequence.
6:53 - I never noticed that Amy was in the basement in restraints but also upstairs in the attic just chilling out in a chair.
John actually couldn’t properly recount the night due to a collection of trying to forget it, too afraid to confront it, and his mind and possibly “God” he met in the Chapter 3 flashbacks making him forget certain parts of that night, with the most underlying thing being him unable to remember if the exorcism occurred in the basement or attic.

That doesn't give you an ending, it gives you another note, John respawns in the Martin house and the game continues as normal.

Does anyone else think the 2nd game is entirely a dream?
It _is_ all a dream with the exception of Father Garcia and Michael.
To explain this part:Chapter 2 is a nightmare John experiences mere days or weeks after Chapter 1. It’s a retelling of not only how Miriam came to be, but also possibly a backstory on both Lisa and John, as during the injection scene in Chapter 3, you see 2 children that look like John and Lisa standing in windows of Snake Meadow Hill Church with Miriam out front, respectively. It’s also likely that the “twins” were both John and Lisa and that something happened to them. I personally don’t know what happened to Lisa, but it’s likely whatever happened to the two left John with his knee injury.

(Pretty big Faith spoilers in my comment, so if you care about it, or haven’t beaten the whole game, don’t read on.)
It’s part of the ritual the cult does. To be a vessel for the unspeakable, you must have your face cut off with a ritual knife, then have a newborn baby be shoved into your open face (I don’t know why, it’s just the procedure I guess). Since Amy was supposed to be the chosen vessel, her face was removed.
As to wether she did it herself, no, the cult cut her face off against her will. Tiffany (the hotel secret boss fight), a woman who wanted to be the vessel presumably after she got jealous about Amy being the chosen one, tells John before her fight that she was “The first one to do the ritual willingly”, which means Amy couldn’t have wanted to do it.
It’s also implied in the game that Amy feels remorseful and bad about it, with how she covers her head in Chapter 1, how she asks John if “her face is pretty” before her boss fight, and that she is overall less aggressive in present time then in the flashback, when she still had her face.
Sorry for the long explanation, this game has a lot of lore that you have to do some digging for, haha. I hope this wasn’t too overwhelming of a response.
Just realized that the video doesn’t show Tiffany/The Hotel Secret Boss Fight since the video doesn’t go for the good ending of Chapter 3. Just take my word on it, or search it up on RUclips if you want, I promise I’m not lying to you.

What actually happened was, when Amy escaped the psychiatric ward, the cult located her, brought her to the Martin house and performed the face cutting Second Death on her against her will. That explains the satanic symbols all around, suggesting a ritual took place. Also, her covering her face and asking that question is nothing more than the possessing demon taunting the player.

That’s why they used the clinic, as not only did they possess nearly endless amounts of sacrifices, they also obtained “Virgins” to sacrifice, as they are the most pure and therefore the most potent. Not to mention they were handed back a human infant through
Miriam. Motherhood is an underlying theme here, so there’s also that.
