You are actually the only one RUclipsr who use the entire fish, no waste at all, the other idiots just take the fillets, but you take all the meat as should be, I remember my grandma in Venezuela, we grow up in the Caribbean and we eat fish all the time and she use all the fish, soup with the head and bones, and on the grill the rest. Regards from Barcelona Spain
Haven't said "WOW.......WOW........WOW!" that many times in a very long time! And all Aaron can say is, "Grateful!" That was the perfect comment! You deserved a nice fish, my friend, And Lisa too! Amazing African Pompano! You all support each other perfectly! DIBS ON BOTTOM, CHOWDER and RIBS!! Now, let's get started with a published version of "The Book!"
So proud of you for giving her a shot at it. A true man! Tell Will we said thanks for the help. We are definitely going to try that one it! Much love to you all!
What a memorable dive, awesome majestic fish. Great teamwork, totally professional. I remember when you and Jeffrey and company went to the dry tortogas. Candidate for video of the year!!!
10:07 I got chills and goosebumps. Amazing to see such a organic touchless connection between divers/friends. Amazing work, with a matching amazing fish.
Thats so awesome. I did my first CCC video last week and now I have a new appreciation for the work you put in every week to do it. Props to you my man.
A particularly good video. Your joy for the life you're building really shines here I'm sure I'm not the first to say this but the Todd family would definitely buy an Aaron/Will cookbook.
Aaron my man. That is an absolute stud grouper. Well deserved for a guy under water as much as you. Congratulations to your friend for the beast AP as well. Great video. Off to see what Madeline is selling now. Gotta love Mondays!
I've made Cod chowder a few times and once a whelk chowder ! I have never added any kind of flour and it's always ended up good and thick. I have always used the plainest New England style recipes I could find. No corn and absolutely no tomatoes.
Buy some dragonfly nymphs or eggs and put them in a pond or a few half wine barrels so fish can't get them and when they start flying watch your fly problem drop significantly. I had a fish tank outside so I could watch the carnage underwater during their nymph phase of life. Get some Praying Mantis eggs as well. Bugs won't have anywhere to hide and watching both species hunt is entertaining.
I've even seen people hang fake dragonflies around or wear them on wires on a hat. That would be goofy for the keys I think, but in Australia and some other places, the flies are relentless and prolific and I wouldn't be above it if it worked.
@@calvinh208Aloha. I visited Torqauy, Victoria many years ago on a surf trip. The trees were alive with flies, just a perpetual buzz. And not the house fly ones.
Your adventurous spirit and amazing skills in spear fishing and cooking are truly inspiring! The way you embrace the thrill of the hunt and create delicious meals is incredible. And I Am Floating Village Life
excellent harvest. As you rightly pointed out 3rd largest grouper in 15 years. Living in Kentucky if it was a buck it be high up on the boone and crocket scale. You ARE NO doubt the least fisherman who harvests to much. I have watched your channel for several years now and I get what you mean about the haters in this world.
You should look into having a duo podcast with 'The Fish Locker" guy (350k+ subscriber's), from Cornwall UK. He comes to Florida occasionally but all I see him catch are mostly Sharks and an occasional Barracuda . In the UK he's usually getting Ling Cod or lobsters/crabs
It's awesome how much you honor the fish you catch! Keep up the great work! We love the videos too, cheers!!! And I recommend you look into a deba knife for butchery, it is quite useful!
Hey with all the rain that’s been pouring down the last few days do you think you could head back and check out those fresh water holes/springs you showed us a few weeks ago when you were swimming around the mangrove areas. Curious to see if they’d be “flowing” now. Cheers!!
I remember growing up eating grouper cheeks off the days catch from my granddads charters. They were considered scrap back then along with the collars. They were the hanger steak of fish.
That was a massive Grouper.....I don't know how many times I've seen the Cheeks and Throats discarded.....Great to see the whole fish utilized after the harvest!!😎👀🤿
Water men your fish chowder looks delicious good job but if I was able to try some of that fish chowder I mit of gave it a 5 star meal hint hints I am hungry 😊 you all enjoy the fish chowder have a good night
What a great dive and congratulations on such a beautiful trophy fish! Appreciate your philosophy on harvesting and using everything a fish has to offer. Key West Waterman or Dibs on Bottom cookbook perhaps?
Another awesome video. I eat a lot of grouper, it's one of my favorite fish, but have never made a chowder from it. That's fixing to change. I have an old family recipe that has not been outside of our family for generations. I would love for you to try it.
Just had fried grouper cheeks at Hogfish Grill on Stock Island. Good stuff! Trying to figure out how to move our family down to the Keys. You are living a beautiful life
I do a very similar recipe for mini season and make a lobster bisque. The flurry is a perfectly sound way of thickening it but if you wanted to save yourself some time whisking, you can throw your butter dredged in flour once your trinity is softened a bit. It will get clumpy from the butter and flour then you just pour in stock and cream and cook your veggies until tender from there. Looks unbelievable though
Aloha Aaron. Two awesome fish with friends and a beautiful day to boot. Impressed by the people you choose to surround yourself with. Liza had a potential opportunity for a record, but put her ego aside and declined. Chowder looked awesome, even without the bacon. Question? Do you notice since having met Will, that you utilize more of the fish than you used too? Or were you always like that?
Great video Aaron! That was a beautiful grouper you got. As an Atlantic Canadian, your chowder is not the way I make mine, but it’s very close in that it should be heavy on broth & light on cream. You should taste the seafood, not cream. Great job. Thanks for sharing!!!

I like your videos, don’t like being referred to as Boys and Girls on your entry to the video. Sounds like Captain Kangaroo.

Aloha. When I was a kid growing up in Ohio, my dad would pay us ten cents apiece for praying mantis eggs. He’d string them up in the garden.
