By the end of next year, I will be this leo you described. You have changed my life with this reading. Thank you, with all my heart. You have shown me what I've been looking for. Now I know have a clear vision of what I'm aiming for instead of walking forward blind. Never has a reading been so impactful.
Just saw them live a couple days ago. I have seen them like 3-4 times already and every single time they play this, I`m having trouble keeping the tears at bay in the pit. Amazing band, either live or on record
That whiskey burns going down Old man pour me another round Cause it's my last night in town And I ain't thinking of slowing down No, I am fixing, I'm fixing to drown Till I see the sun or I can't see Cause I got the blues and the blues got me I'm gonna make my momma proud Her boy on the front lines And just like my daddy's done I ain't afraid to die I ain't afraid to die I ain't no fortunate one But I'm proud of what I've done Hardships, I've seen some I ain't a coward, I don't turn and run I don't turn and run So I stumble home, pack up my old memories Pictures of ma, my daddy's flask she gave me Keep it near your heart, she would always say It's all he left, and so that's where it'll stay Her leatherbound, book of psalms and prayers She would always read with patience and care A short walk to the cemetery to pay respects before I leave 1901 to 1943 I run my fingers through her name and the effigy
"the whiskey burns going down, old man pour me another round. cause its my last night in town, and i ain't thinking of slowing down, no i am fixing, im fixing to drown." goddamn, the lyrics of this song
I saw these guys at warped tour yesterday cuz no one else was playing and ffew bands like The Black Dahlia Murder, The Amity Affliction and Silverstein said they were the best band on the tour and without knowing what to expect i saw these guys and they blew my mind
the lyrics can reflect your inner nature so much, especially if you've gone through fatal, negative experiences. all suffering has it's ending. amazing song and band.
This whole EP is about the homeless black man that the "younger brother" character from Travels meets in Prophet in Plain Clothes. I think that is so damn awesome they made a whole EP.
It is about a man going to war, I know. This album (EP) is Lost Ground not Travels. The man that this EP's story is of the man in the song Prophet in Plain Clothes on the album Travels.
Wherever you are Tyler, I hope love finds you, and you understand that I loved you like no one else will. And you loved me in a way I will never let anyone love me. We were to wrong and right for each other like forbidden fruits. I another world we’re together, happy, and healthy. But this isn’t our world, so with that, I say goodbye forever. And I let you go. Forever your baby love, and forever your mistake, mel.
Its not about his father or grandfather or whatever. "it's seen as this period of great American prosperity but there was still a lot of racism, sexism and homophobia. We write about these prejudices and things like war and murder and how they affected real people. All these things definitely contradict those Norman Rockwell-rosy images of that period."
ok, I'm an oldtimer who used to listen 80's melodic hardcore like Dag Nasty and stuff and came across this band and I must admit they're great, like an evolution of that sound. I think that musically Defeater are really fantastic, but I don't like these screaming vocals, I just can't stand them... Can you suggest some band like this one with normal singing vocals? Thanks & cheers
M. O'Brien I checked them: Title Fight and Into It.Over It are very good but they're not punk or hardcore, they're indie rock, or at least what I use to call indie-rock back in the days. Maybe definitions have changed, I don't know, but I think slow music cannot be punk or hc. Anyway thanks for the hints. Twitching Tongues are grunge-core or grunge-metal... remind me a little bit the Melvins, nothing to do with punk/hc though.
i feel like 'Shed' by Title Fight is something of a hardcore punk record. Into It. Over It are not a hardcore band but the music's similar to Defeater (ish) and they don't scream. Try Ignite, maybe that's more your style.
@Nizzemanden im confused...Are they a Christian band then? Thats all I was really trying to ask with that question...because I actually do care if they claim to be christain band or not...Personally I don't like the label christain on a band because i feel its more of a attention getter for all the religious kids to fallow them.
i know how you feel..i mean not with this band i love these guys, but i used to despise comeback kid for yell talking. over time you hear it enough and you go huh you know this isn't so bad!

this is the kinda song you hear for the first time and you have to take a step back at the greatness. it invokes so many feelings
I get emotional and quiet when listening to their songs, and this isn't a bad thing.
I wish more bands could do this.
Dieter Verrycken listen to redeemer still raining.
That whiskey burns going down
Old man pour me another round
Cause it's my last night in town
And I ain't thinking of slowing down
No, I am fixing, I'm fixing to drown
Till I see the sun or I can't see
Cause I got the blues and the blues got me
I'm gonna make my momma proud
Her boy on the front lines
And just like my daddy's done
I ain't afraid to die
I ain't afraid to die
I ain't no fortunate one
But I'm proud of what I've done
Hardships, I've seen some
I ain't a coward, I don't turn and run
I don't turn and run
So I stumble home, pack up my old memories
Pictures of ma, my daddy's flask she gave me
Keep it near your heart, she would always say
It's all he left, and so that's where it'll stay
Her leatherbound, book of psalms and prayers
She would always read with patience and care
A short walk to the cemetery to pay respects before I leave
1901 to 1943
I run my fingers through her name and the effigy
I've been listening to this song on repeat for over an hour, simply trying to relive their set at Ghostfest 2012. Magic, absolute magic.
"the whiskey burns going down, old man pour me another round. cause its my last night in town, and i ain't thinking of slowing down, no i am fixing, im fixing to drown." goddamn, the lyrics of this song

I would think it would be super nice if people uploaded the lyrics to it directly. 🖤
They write the most brutally depressing songs.
Takes some getting used to :p
usually seeing a band like this live will change your whole perspective of them!
Becky, those sixty second I had your full attention were honestly some of the best goddamn seconds of my life.
If I could only pick two records to showcase the beauty and artisanship in heavy music I'd choose Defeater's "Lost Ground" and Lantlos' "Neon."
Fuck yes both are great bands !
Great bands but I'd personally choose WORTHWHILE to be in there somewhere
Thanks For Posting that I just Listened to Lantlos for the First time....so good
goosebumps, every time
I was in the crowd with you man haha
so good.
This whole EP is about the homeless black man that the "younger brother" character from Travels meets in Prophet in Plain Clothes. I think that is so damn awesome they made a whole EP.
From the album "lost ground". Posted the artwork from "travels"
Gnarly bass on this track.
That whiskey burns, going DOWN!
This song goes so hard
That whiskey burns going down!
This album is about a man going into the war. I think you're thinking of the ablum Lost Ground because this album is called Travels
It is about a man going to war, I know. This album (EP) is Lost Ground not Travels. The man that this EP's story is of the man in the song Prophet in Plain Clothes on the album Travels.
He joined back in 2010. Maybe it was just a phase and now there's one less of them walking the streets. We can only hope.
Sick drums
I wish I liked this band.
Juggalos love hardcore too! (In case it wasn't evident by the dude that uploaded this song).
So who is on the cover of this?
Kyle Lechner That's what I wanna know, too. I always thought it was Derek
+Kyle Lechner - I'll ask Derek for you next time I see him in Portsmouth. He works at the Bull Moose there.
Well, did you ask? The mother of the story probably, but what is her name?
I see some comments saying that his father died in 1943, It was his mother. "I run my fingers through her name and the effigy"
Don't forget BAAO. (being as an ocean)
new but nice
this goes fucking hard bro
1901 to 1943
I run my fingers through her name and the effigy...
