YES! From the UK and absolutely agree with solo trips to Disney. You get to be a little selfish without feeling guilty. Want to have an ice cream for lunch instead of a "proper" lunch? Go ahead. Want to skip a ride or go on a ride no-one else likes as much, no-one is there to stop you.

A solo trip, or eve just a solo day in Disney really helps take the pressure off! You only have one person to please, and on future trips with others, you might not feel as much need to check off all your must-do attractions.

I can’t wait to book a solo trip to Disney World! You are so right, AJ, about being able to do, stay, eat, etc., whenever, however and wherever you want. I don’t really have much of a choice anyway to go alone. Mostly because of schedules, but mostly because they don’t want to spend the money.
I, on the other hand, LOVE to travel, and I haven’t traveled since COVID started. I go to Disneyland often, because I live near it. When I go to Disney World, I want to stay at a luxury hotel. I want to eat things I don’t find in a regular fast food restaurant.i’m all about the experience. When I go to a Disney Park, I become downright giddy. I love the image, I love the atmosphere and the cast members and the guests, all wearing their Disney ears and other merch. I never thought I would ever buy a Loungefly Backpack. Now, in less than a year, I bought flippin SIX. 😄 My Disney Parks spirit has reawaken for the first time in 20 years, and I love being able to enjoy it. Thank you so much, AJ, for your honesty and your research and insight to Disney World and Disneyland Resort.

I agree with the tip about not trying to fit in all 4 parks in one visit. Maybe for a first timer. But we have found now each time we go we focus on different parks. Last week since it was Festival of the Arts we did two days at EPCOT and just one day at Animal Kingdom. Totally bypassed the other two parks this time.

waking up early is a game changer if you care about avoiding long queues. Especially if you have early theme park entry, that half hour is so useful. Last summer, my sister and I only got up early three days out of our two week holiday but it meant we went straight through queues that are famously really long (and sometimes not worth it). On our first day, we went straight to magic kingdom, wriggled to the front of the crowd for rope drop and we just walked through seven dwarves mine train. When we did it again a few days later in the middle of the day, the queue was SO long and I probably won't do that ride again unless i'm there for rope drop for it.

Yes, waking up early if the "best" part about a WDW trip, especially with an hour time difference (WDW is in the "future" from my home). I "love" waking up earlier than I do on a workday. As for skipping parks, we have gone to WDW twice and have made a list regarding which parks are now half day parks maybe we could add a non-WDW location next time.

Agree completely about doing 1 park per day! That said, we never get to the parks until 11am at the earliest. We don't get Genie+ and still have a great time. But we go often enough that skipping a ride one time when the wait is too long isn't the end of the world.

Last March, two days into our 4 day trip, I got food poisoning from a pulled pork sandwich from Port Orleans French Quarter. My husband asked the front desk for a thermometer, they didn't have one, and frankly seemed bothered to be asked. The gift shop didn't even have one! He had to take an Uber to CVS, and thankfully was able to buy Gatorade and other supplies for someone with food poisoning. Lesson? Pack a thermometer and avoid the pulled pork.

My 8 year old daughter can't wait to see "Tough to be a Bug!" She has never been to Disney before, and has a special cicada shirt made for the occasion. She collects cicada exoskeletons, and preserved cicadas from around the world. She has ALWAYS been like this! For her 7th birthday, she wanted a live tarantula to come to her birthday for her to hold. In preschool, she brought a dead cicada and an exoskeleton to show & tell (she named him Ribbit). For piano, she wrote a song about bugs. This is going to be a must-do for her!

But I saved up and bought all the things. I wish I would have bought a certain Loungefly. But I remembered your tip about checking shop Disney.
