Just purchased a 2004 88B Fatboy in White Pearl. She has been lowered and fully chromed. Previous owner spent untold $1,000’s. My first Harley. Just love it 🙏🇦🇺😎
Great history, it's such a pleasure getting this kind of feedback from someone who actually bought and owns the bike he is talking about, let alone owning four of them in recent years
I've got the 2005 Black Pearl Fatboy & only once in the 18 yrs I've had her I've had the front solid wheel lift in a cross wind at 180klms that I wasn't prepared for!!!! Love the Fatboys over all my Harley's I've owned!!! 👍👍✌
Great video... and fascinating history. After many years as a Heritage Classic owner, I wanted something with presence... something to wrestle with - something that tells you that you are on something serious... and mean. I picked up the new Fatboy 114 last week... Wow!
Good video. I'm in southern Indiana, I've found a 1995 Fatboy for $6,500 and 11,000 miles and another 1995 Fatboy for $6,000 with 18,000 miles. I've had 3 big twin shovelheads but as you stated, Terminator 2 hooked you and some others on the Fatboy.
Thanks for your video. I just bought the 120 anniversary fat boy. Had no idea how awesome it would ride. Then learning it’s history makes me love it even more. I’ll take the word on the street history of fat boy lol 😂.
@@canadiansa1nt309 all but one of my 5 Harley’s have special paint as I love having coolest colors. This anniversary paint is an eye catcher. What I like about the newer fat boys is the change in the wheels as the solid wheel look and feel in wind made me shy away from it. It’s the most different of my bikes and can’t wait to really test it once the roads are not so full of gravel, sand and etc of winter roads in SWCO.
I just got my first Harley, a 2024 Fatboy! Like you I fell in love with that bike after seeing Terminator 2. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the history, very informative!
Great video, brother . I have a 1990 Fatboy. However, the guy I bought it off of tore it down painted the frame black and tins are now periwinkle blue, original motor original frame all original tins "Periwinkle blue tins" he also shaved it, that means you will see no welds on the frame or the bike anywhere Old-Timers used to do that back in the day the motor numbers in the frame numbers all match the clean title I body with the idea of restoring it to original condition. However, my wife passed away from a blood clot at 53 years old , so that took the spring out of my step.
OOPS, the bike you shoe is the 2005-06 CVO Fatboy 103 inch. The 15th anniversary version was black with black oil tank 96 inch motor and gold logo. I have both.
Likewise about seeing the flik and knowing that it would be mine someday. That turned-out to be 5 months ago...a 22' Vivid Black. The most awesome rig I've EVER owned.
thanks man ,,i love the 1990 gray ghost i 1990 my best friend Dave ,and me ,would go to the harley shop . and look at the bike, but i did not have that kind of money , so thats Life,,
@canadiansa1nt309 Been riding it in the high 40 degree temps here in Ohio. You can feel it. Am hoping someone will chime in with an idea as to what will help. I saw what looked like a leather apron someone had on their bike. I don't know what it's called or where to get one if I wanted to. Most of the riding I'll be doing will be in town at speeds generally at around 35 mph.
I have a 1990 Fatboy it has the Yellow detail. I understand that it IS the prototype bike that was sent to the motor show that You talk about in your video. E
Hello. I want to buy a Fat Boy with Evo but it`s easier to find Heritage. And I have thoughts to convert Heritage to Fat Boy. Is there any difference from HD Heritage Softail Classic 1340 except handlebar, fenders, wheels and turn signals?
The tank badging would be different and the heritage comes with saddlebags and maybe a windshield. I don’t think there would be too much different other than that and the things you’ve said. It would most likely be cheaper to wait and find the Fatboy rather than converting the Heritage, though.
I am the owner of an all original 1997 Fatboy. Smooth ride and the 80 CI evo engine has more than enough power. Keeping it for life Its on my channel BTW
@@canadiansa1nt309Yes, people need to keep the evos and invest whatever money it takes to make them run good, becuase the only other option is going to leave people with major waste of money with twin cams to M8s and nightmare electrical issues and expense engine repairs. Harley never needed to go above the shovel head and the evo And the fatboy evo is a harley one can deck it out to be same as the electra if they want or leave them bare bones
02 carburated fat boy here. Just did 211 cams definitely hauls the mail. Sounds and looks like a proper hd. Yep, you are correct. 1999 was the last year for the Evo contrary to what was stated in the video (1999) and was DEFINITELY NOT a "Twinkie". The Mo-Co also produced some CVO FXR's which also had the Evolution motor well into calander year of 2000. Those bikes are fetching some good money nowadays. Great job on the Fatboy history otherwise.
I know a bit about Harley history but I learnt a few things today. Even signed up for a FatBoy today. Thanks from Down Under. 🇦🇺
No problem. You’ll like the Fatboy 👍
I'm from Australia & got a 88ci Black Pearl Fatboy. Still got her. Got the standard 2005, 15th anniversary Fatboy
Oh nice. I wish I still had my pearl white 2002.

The classics will never go out of style.

I’ve had four Fatboys with four different displacements and three different engine designs. I’m confident I know a thing or two about them, haha!
Proud owner of a 2003 Pearl White Fatboy. Love her dearly! I've never had issues with the solid wheels, and I am a girl! :)

i have the 2010 fatboy lo bought it new still have it still a nice bike
I agree. The Fatboy Lo was a good bike. I had a 2013 in candy orange.
Just bought a 2016. Hoping the heat is tolerable next summer. No mid frame heat deflectors available for it at the dealership. Ugh!
Close to the end of the twin cams. It’ll definitely throw some heat but I’m sure it’ll be alright.

Really? That’s surprising. I had a ‘95 Fatboy. If you don’t mind my asking, what about it do you like better?
Harley Davidson long ago debunked the bomb theory. It's a wide bike. Thats why it's called a fatboy
The paint scheme was that of the bombs. It was a message about Japanese motorcycles and tariffs.
I believe it. But try to get Harley to acknowledge that now.
