I think you should get a small utility trailer and tow it with Babe the blue truck. She gets great gas mileage and with a trailer you would have great capacity for scrap!

    • @ashleighelizabeth5916
      @ashleighelizabeth5916 2 года назад +2

That great gas mileage isn't going to be so great towing a trailer, and a 4 banger isn't ideal for towing capacity either.

You know it cost about 8$&up for good screens .they sell really good because renters have to replace them if they mess the ones in their windows up
Sometimes it. Might be worth stacking them back.thatd be a pretty good lump sum.

Hi Paul. My hubby had his rotator cuff repaired in November. It was a success but you do HAVE to do the exercises religiously and also NOT lift anything ( no scrapping) until surgeon gives you the go ahead. Good luck with it. Hubby is so pleased with the results from op.

  • @luvambrosia

Hi Paul, First time I am adding my two cents here. I heard you are getting the surgery for your shoulder in Aug. I have had the same issue a few years ago. I could not lift my arm above my head. I decided to try acupuncture first. I did that for two months, three times a week. I was back to "Normal" able to do my reg. routine. You will not be disappointed and cost a lot less than surgery.

Paul could use the blue truck when not working. A trailer is harder to get in and out of the scrap yard and increase his fuel consumption considerably more than a lift gate. It will also be harder to manoeuvre in residential areas, especially when backing up.

Retired tractor/trailer driver here. Your vehicle loaded weight often fluctuates high to low. Try the trucker way...commercial trucks balance on CAT and shipper scales, and release service (foot) brakes. For your vehicle, roll onto the scale, brake to stop, place your transmission in neutral, release brake pedal. It seems as if your idle onto scale weight is heavier than full stop weight. Just a suggestion.

if the trailer costs the same as the liftgate, I'd go with the trailer for added space. However, you will need to register it and there's a little added cost there, but I think it'd be worth it. You will more than double your capacity for the same cost. And a trailer doesn't have hydraulics that will need maintenance. :) Great videos, Paul!

Trailer is a good idea. Dump trailers don't have ramps, but you can get like a 6' x 12' open utility trailer with a ramp for $1,000, you could put custom plywood sides on it as tall as you'd like, their lighter better on gas, and you'll double your capacity by loading the trailer and the back of your truck.

While holding the turn signal lever, turn the ignition to the "on" or "run" position and then off. Repeat these steps twice, while holding the stalk. Afterwards, with the key in the "off" position, release the lever. The Silverado's doors should lock and unlock. The automatic feature can be reset from this point. ReprogRamming must be performed within 30 seconds. Depress the power door lock button on the door panel two times and the automatic locking function will be disabled."

@@ScrapPalletMan That's to bad...you might have to try a dealership that is willing to do it...read up more help groups and ya apparently that "fix" stopped starting on the 2012's....but apparently the dealership can re-program the computer and from what the answer said it costs about $85

Love your videos! Heard your comment about wanting "scrap garbage cans", and I can then tell you that here in Norway, each household have a separate bin for glass + metal, which is picked upp every 2 weeks! :) Keep on scrapping! God bless! :) Per Aksel from Norway! :D

If you buy the trailer, you'll be able to use it with both trucks and you'll have more space for scrap. Get a dump and like you said, all you have to do is press a button. No labor costs to install the lift.
The trailer will sell easier if you decide to sell. You can always add a winch to the trailer for cheap money so you can drag things on the trailer. They sell portable winches too.
The disadvantages are the cost of registering a trailer, and the cost of the extra tires, but I'd still go with the trailer.

trailer might be an advantage for ya Sir Paul, get to put heavy stuff in it and aluminaty and metal bars n smaller items in the back of the truck, now the lift will definitely help your back a great deal. I would go with the trailer since it might be what I will do once I get a small pick up like your Blue and move to our house in Georgia.

Awesome video. You probably know That the handles and label plate holders on the file cabinets are sometimes alu. Easy to take off. I get these a lot at pickups and in just a short time I got a big bucket full of these items. What a cool morning shot Paul. That train was awesome. I love the coal shoot but I had no idea the train went under it. I guess the train stopped there long ago and coal was loaded onto the train? Great place to take photographs.

Whew. This was like a triple scrappin' feature. I went through a large tub of popcorn and a box of Milk Duds to make it all the way through. I do still have some Raisinets that I'll save for the next video. 👍

    Hi there Paul,
Great video, Thanks for taking us in the Journey with you & Sharing it.
Oh that 300Watt Light Globe is what we call a "Giant Edison Screw" or "GES" at least that's what we call them in Australia. Thanks also for letting us know when the Surgery is to take place, I will be keeping you in my prayers,
As for Trailer or Lift Gate, well I am on the side of, Wait, after the surgery and your healing time, then you will know which you want / need. There seem to be many pros and cons for both items, so take the time while you recuperate to meditate upon what you should get and which one would be more beneficial to you.
    Take Care and God Bless

That fiber shade for the lamps are worth some good money. I would go with a trailer. The rotocuff surgery isn't that bad. I had the same thing done, 3 little slits. I was back to "normal" in no time. I still need to have my right one done.
