I don't mean to disrespect Asta cause he is a great skater. I find when Luan is on defense, he usually makes the trick look better than whoever is doing it on offense. usually skaters are sloppy on defense. Luan is a tank.
And through that switch fs bigspin.
Most stylish game of skate in a hot minute.
Both had big pop. Luan's inward heel was so high.

Thats because there is a reason why someone is a traditional pro, and why someone is an influencer... Most influencers cant skate even on the level of a traditional am, or even some european flow level guy like Eniz (that guy who fs bluntslided that huge hubba in Paris...). They are "down to earth", your neighbour kinda guys, or portray themselves as such. Like "If i can make it, so will YOU!", and thats the hook for kids.
Skill, style, consistency, pop, speed, overall attitude, sportsmanship. It's becoming more and more obvious what the required ingredients are.
Thats why when someone says "oh hes good he should be pro" no he shouldnt. he should work his way up the food chain with consistency and control tranny, street, ledges, stairs a combination of mastering those elements is what makes a pro. Being a professional skateboarder should be held to high standards.
@@ilewtf2234 I saw Eniz skate at the Dôme in Paris (the spot you mentioned). Influencers clean Eniz's toilet with their own toothbrush. That's where they stand when compared to him.
Mannn Luan's flatground is soo aesthetically pleasing, he flips/flicks everything so fast, stomps everything, goes fast and always tries to land every flip trick proper, he never seems to sacrifice pop or speed to try and land a trick more easily that's what makes him sickk
Everyone has some tricks they do really well on flat. Luan makes every trick look like it’s his favorite.
I find he does every trick as if he was skating a gap. It’s incredible.

@@ernestoortiz8672 didnt notice that till I saw your comment then rewatched.. crazy how he does that. Its like he moves his feet from a riding stance to a comfortable spot for the trick and once they hit the spot he just lets it rip and then out comes these perfect tricks.

Luan has the best flat ground style of all time. Bro makes everything look hella bomb. Just rewatch the catch he almost had on the switch heel. No one can make falling look super bomb like that.
Can we just talk about how these guys styles are completely different yet each beautiful in its own right.
Seriously Tom Asta has some of the best flatground style I've seen. And then there's Luan who is godly.
tom is so underrated. they're not entirely different when it comes to stomping tricks. and tom has a better tre flip imo. not switch though.
A great example of two skateboarders who’s flat ground is it at the highest level yet using very different and individually amazing styles. A rewarding watch.

I feel so grateful for growing up in the same city as Luan (Porto Alegre, Brazil). he was always talented, learning tricks much faster than any other kid in the skatepark. btw, he is unbelievably humble in person.

Oliveira gets his flipping and spinning done real quick. The dude has the highest/earliest catch of almost anyone....just insanely good.
I've been out of touch with Luan's skating these past few years, but this game alone reminded me that he simply has the most confident flat ground game in the business. Dude is unreal!

But I can't think of anyone that makes it look as appealing as he does. To have that pop, style, stomp, speed, consistency and trick difficulty ability all in one person.

Yeah it shows how good he is. To beat Luan you would have to be on PJ Ladd, Chris Joslin or Cody Cepeda level (Cody smoked him 2 in a row)
Chris Joslin is pretty close imo in terms of speed and consistency, but luan pops higher and his body looks smother in the air

The challenge is a great rule, it was important in literally the previous battle. Those refs allowed multiple heel drags and called a letter on a toe touch that didn't even touch.

Super fun watching two completely different skate styles. Tom is so smooth and fluid with no wasted motion and Luan is straight up explosive on the board. Both guys are insanely talented
