Making Black Walnut Syrup - From Scratch

This is our second year tapping our Black Walnut trees and cooking their sap to make a delicious sweet syrup. I am still learning and tweaking this process, and looking forward to next year when I get to go at it again.

Tip for the future, when you take the lid off the bucket collecting, put the lid on the empty bucket and take the bucket with sap. Don’t need to pour the collection bucket, just swap it out with the empty bucket, no pouring.

I had the same problem slopping buckets last year. This year I’m doing a large cooler on the back

Nice work! How does it taste? You also do this with hickory but most demos show people using hickory bark
