Kayaking the Zumbro River - Hammond, MN - Hammond to Theilman, MN - October 2023

Kayaking the Zumbo River between Hammond, MN and Theilman, MN at the dedicated landings. Both are dedicated landings and indicated on Google Maps. Both have plenty of parking and are well signed at the landings. Lastly, there is a porta potty at Hammond.
The river level was 5.2’ at Zumbro Falls and was a great level. Sure, we scraped several times but that is expected from our paddling experiences. The water clarity was super and we saw a ton of fish. Looking down into the river was as scenic as the surroundings; it felt at times that we were looking down into an aquarium.
The prettiest part of this 15 miles is between Hammond and Millville; this is where most of the riffles are located and much of the rock outcrops. After Millville, the river widens out and there is more deadfall in the river. We always had a path go navigate through without issue.
