    RD Wingfield always has brilliant detective inspectors, you can imagine them slowly boxing you in.

    Aside of the final revelation (brilliantly revealed before the first words are spoken) this is probably Wingfield’s weakest play. That said he is such a superb craftsman of mysteries that the fact that the first and second revelations are so obvious doesn’t diminish the pleasure. A true master

    It's unbelievable that a woman would walk at night in the woods, and especially after she had already been followed / threatened!
