The Greg Rucka run is so underrated. Everyone always recommends the Ennis Marvel Knights and MAX runs, but Rucka's run is up there with some of the best modern Punisher runs.
Great books! These are my three favourite Punisher runs of all time. Ennis' MAX run is at the same level, but I don't like Ennis' Marvel Knights stuff nearly as much.
(Jay RoC) dust jackets look great , I have to check out that Rucka run . Did u ever notice they traced Robert Deniro face on punisher on some of the covers
Hey, Matt! I have the Rosenberg run in TPB format, & I haven't read it yet, lol. I just love Frank Castle, the character, so I have tried to collect what I can. I've heard so many good things about Rucka's run. I, too, thought it would've received an official omni... but, alas, nope, unfortunately not. And I did not get the trades that make up that run, & cannot find them anywhere in "New" or Like New" condition for a reasonable price. So, I may go digital w/it, because I love what it appears to be, & love Rucka & Chechetto! As for the Edmondson/Gerads run... I own that in TPB format, & really love it! The tactical realism they brought to it was not lost on me at all. In truth, I am not a big fan of mixing in superheroes w/Punisher stories. I just like the grounded, gritty realism of Frank Castle, & when you start mixing him in w/Avengers, etc, it just doesn't work for me most of the time(not NEVER- it has worked for me a couple of times... just not most of the time; probably why I love the MAX run the best- & even though supes made appearances here & there, a good portion of MK Punisher comics are mostly non-supes stuff; I guess I'm saying I'm more okay w/"street-level" supes & villains sometimes being involved: Daredevil & Bullseye, are good examples; although, I suppose the story is MOST important, & if a Punisher story was fantastic WITH more powerful supes/villains being involved... I'd be down for it! Okay, enough, lol, I'm ranting now- damn mania!!!😄). So, yeah, lol, I love the Punisher. Always have. I haven't really kept up w/Marvel(or DC, or really any superhero stuff- it's not my favorite genre, as a whole), but I've seen RUclips vids & read articles about major changes being made to Frank Castle's character, what he stands for, etc. I heard/read they are changing his iconic skull to have horns so as to look more evil, & that he is going to now be leader of the Hand or something? I read they were even replacing his use of guns w/that of swords. If this is true, I won't form any opinion until I've read the first arc. But I can say right now that these changes sound- from what I've read & heard- as if politics is playing a large role here. While I do not have much love for many politicians, I have always been someone who is interested in & intrigued by politics(I was luckily chosen to be part of the National Young Leaders Conference my junior year in high school, which took me to D.C. for a week that I will always cherish, & from which I met many diverse peoples w/whom I had pleasant political discourse, & will never forget how enlightening it was to have such conversations). So I like to stay invested in what is going on, politically- even though much of it has been tough to stomach at times. So, I'd like to just say that I hope the "politics of the day" haven't been used to ruin a character whose exploits I enjoy reading. I will give just 1 example(& I'd like to know yours & Mike's thoughts on this- or anyone reading this, if you wanna weigh in... no pressure): guns. I am very much in support of gun control laws, & believe more can be done than has been. However, changing his weapons from guns to blades doesn't address the level of violence in the comics. I would argue that killing via sword requires a more up close & personal way of killing that definitely doesn't make Frank seem less violent, but moreso. Yes, it eliminates the guns, but unless he's being made a villain, I do not see how this helps him to be more of a "hero"(which he's not supposed to really be, anyhow, being a vigilante who kills- even though we, the readers, read his comics because he does punish, usually by killing, the bad guys... & it's natural, I think, to want to see the truly vile scum of the earth get their comeuppance). And when it comes to a fictional character who is a vigilante that kills(mostly w/guns), I feel that as long as the comic is rated for mature audiences(and I DO think Marvel should not just label their Punisher comics as "parental advisory" comics, given that most of the ones I've read w/that labeling could easily be under the MAX imprint; & so I feel the character should either exist only in the MAX universe... or, another option would be to have a "Mature Audiences" or "17+" rating- something on par w/an R-rated film; to just label them as "parental advisory" isn't a definitive enough rating, imho; and I'm aware that many-if-not-most kids/teens will still be able to get their hands on them if they really want, but I feel like that burden should not fall on the publisher- an R-rated equivalent rating would suffice), then there is no need to change the character or his appearance, other than for political reasons. A similar situation has been being discussed over at DC w/regards to their famous Old West gunslinger, Jonah Hex. Some want to change his backstory so that he fought for the North in the Civil War. Others are okay w/him fighting for the South, so long as he doesn't wear the iconic grey uniform anymore. Then there are some who want to either change nearly all of Hex's backstory, or even to simply do away w/the character completely. It's ridiculous, imho. The reasons he fought for the Confederacy & continued wearing his "greys" after the war can be found in the comics. It is all explained. The fact that people are getting so upset over a comic book character who doesn't even have any miniseries on the horizon(nonetheless an ongoing) is crazy to me, anyways. I hope we get to see more Jonah Hex comics in the future. And I hope that people playing politics don't do an injustice to the character by censoring or altering the character he has been. His comics should be given an R-rated equivalent rating(some, anyways), & like Frank Castle, his character should be left alone. That's my feelings on it. If you or anyone reading this wants to express how he/she feels about these things, I would gladly like to hear them! People need to talk more. Especially w/those who may have a different viewpoint. Because who knows, one may just learn a thing or two & see things a bit differently. I know I'm open to that. Ok, mania is really getting to me, lol. So I'm going to get off of my soapbox, & end this by saying sorry for hijacking the topic here, lol. I promise I didn't set out to do that. Great overview, Matt! Those look really nice! That Edmondson/Gerads custom really has me salivating! Hope you & Mike & your fams are all staying healthy & safe! Much love!😊👍🏻👍🏻❤
Hope you’re doing well man! I agree with you on a lot of what you said. However the new Punisher book isn’t as “PC” as people think. The first issue had the original skull all over in it, plenty of action, guns, etc. I don’t think they’re trying to change the character. I think it’s just a new storyline, similar to when he donned the War Machine armor. Social media is just blowing things out of proportion.
@@TheHardcoverComic I'm doing pretty decent. Thanx, man! And thank you for your reply! I agree that social media blows MANY things out of proportion, lol. So it's good to know that what I've been reading/hearing is just that: social media blowing things out of proportion. I try not to listen to- or at least not take to heart- too much of what is said via social media. I usually don't put a lot of stock in things said w/out proof until I've read or seen the issue on the topic at hand, myself(waaaay too much conspiracy theories going on). So, yeah, I was going to reserve my full opinion until after the first arc, at least. But it's nice to hear someone I trust saying what you've said. I love the character, & if it's just a matter of a new storyline that comes w/a change in the character, then that's just fine by me! Thanx again for the good news, brother!😉👍🏻
I hate when the extra conetent is not added for tpb's and omnibuses. At least have some alternate covers!! I think some companies don't put them in tpb's and omnibus because it is a way to make people buy the issues!!
@@TheHardcoverComic does Extreme have an email adress, I don't have Instagram? I'll look into captail too. I have 5-6 bind worth of single issues and was bummed when I found out about HR.
I bet you do. It frustrates me that there hasnt been a punisher omnibus in such a long time and everyones attitude towards the character makes it seem like there wont be another one
Rucka isn't being done officially because of the feminazis / marxist activist Editors at Marvel who are running Marvel into the ground,Punisher is sadly considered "Problematic". Great books, great video, love those wraparound covers.
It's crazy how the companies who preach all this stuff about standing up to the oppressor & canceling certain things are usually the problem & the ones wanting to force there ideology or else cancel you if you have you're own opinion only kus they can no longer burn you at the steak
The Greg Rucka run is so underrated. Everyone always recommends the Ennis Marvel Knights and MAX runs, but Rucka's run is up there with some of the best modern Punisher runs.
Beautiful covers. I really hope Marvel does official releases for all of these and use these as references for the cover art
Wow, those look legit! Beautiful work on those, congrats on snagging them
I’d recommend him. Done my Stephanie Brown Batgirl and Peter David Supergirl custom omnis
Cheers bud! Appreciate it! STAY EXTREME!! 💥💥💥
Awesome looking books! I need copies of these.

Dude... Consider me thoroughly humbled. These are so awesome!
I really want to see what your collection is like. Maybe a video or picture soon?
I’m in the process of downsizing. Once I get all that done I may do a video tour.
Hi I tried searching for these custom omni but can't find them, can u help
Great video 👍🏻 ! Hopefully marvel eventually makes these into a Omnibus
Oh wow where did you get these done. They look amazing
Extreme Custom Omnis
Love it when fans build their own oversized omnis. Im imagine they must have cost a pretty penny tho

I did not know that.
@@TheHardcoverComic check it out man i noticed on the cover of one of the paperbacks dont know what actual single issue number that is
how do you like the colors on the matte paper compared to the glossy paper in other omnis?
I prefer it
Two words: W-OW!!
I wish I was In Kanas city!

Hey, do you guys still make custom dust jackets for people? Just curious
I believe Mike still does, but it depends on his work schedule. He’s been really busy lately.
Does anyone know where he got these Punisher Omnis?
I do!!! They’re custom made by Extreme Customs
Who did you choose that was comparable to HR? Also who did these customs?
I’m utilizing Capital Bindery. Extreme Custom Omnis did these.
