Phuket is one of the southern provinces of Thailand. It consists of the island of Phuket, the country's largest island, and another 32 smaller islands off its coast
Phuket lies off the west coast of mainland Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket Island is connected by the Sarasin Bridge to Phang Nga province to the north. The next nearest province is Krabi, to the east across Phang Nga Bay.
פוקט הוא אחד המחוזות הדרומיים של תאילנד והאי הגדול ביותר בה, האי שוכן בים אנדמן במרחק 862 ק"מ מדרום לבירה בנגקוק. גודלו כ-543 ק"מ רבוע והוא מאוכלס בכ-380,000 (2014) תושבים.
פוקט סיטי היא העיר הגדולה ביותר באי ובירת המחוז.
ממזרח לפוקט, על היבשה, נמצאת העיר קראבי ומדרום מזרח האי הקטנטן קו פי פי. לפוקט חיבור יבשתי לתאילנד בדמות שני גשרים המתחברים לחלקו הצפוני, בנוסף קיים באי שדה תעופה בינלאומי (Phuket International Airport).
האי מאופיין באקלים טרופי ורובו עדיין מיוער. גידוליו המפורסמים של האי הם הקשיו והקוקוס. באי תעשיית תיירות מפותחת והוא מהווה מרכז נופש.
ב-26 בדצמבר 2004, נפגע האי קשה מגל צונאמי שנוצר בעקבות רעידת האדמה באוקיינוס ההודי
