Having only known of the intimate tight horn-y combo that charmed me in a cramped record shop in PoTown, Ore on a bus tour of Pacific NW U.S. about 5 years back, now during pandemic viral quarantine I am catching up on the many other musical textures this band has to offer. I am a creature of habit and I should hate this band and this live gig vid clip. I'm not patient with SFX gimcrackery or high volume rawk! Yet there is so much going on within the musical textures and I connect with each band member's presence in the moment. No NICO-like druggy wasted stare-a-ways. These are exploratory musicians with the spirit of a garage or basement band. Ridiculously over branded costume on the chintzy keyboard player notwithstanding. Keep on exploring Asteroids Galaxy, hopefully and prayerfully touring should you the artists and me the close listener survive these plague times. I would welcome your companionship in any bardo or afterlife in store. Like that fateful rainy day afternoon in-store gig y'all did with a smaller combo in PoTown, Ore. Like always, I gotta work in a request for some Danish language material to help color in these Anglo plagued ears with some global colors. It didn't hurt Charlotte Gainsbourg's ability to hold an Anglo audience by singing in French. This is a unique and welcome time as just before the pandemic shut down our clubs and theaters the Kel Tamasheqt Saharan 'blues' rock riffers like Bombino and Tinariwen were filling U.S. venues and college radio air-waves with the shiftiest and grooving-est music and indidgenous Tamasheqt language singing this side of Niger, Mali, Algeria, Morocco, Libya and Tunisia. Heck, you could print up decal stickers for the Adidas branded keyboard hip-hop poster boy in the band saying, "DANISH-WHY THE HECK NOT?!> Danish samba...there's a world worth exploring..... Does anyone here understand, how fricking awesome and massively talented Lars is? Sure Mette has a great voice and good looks, but...., so what? My wife is hot also. It is the music that mesmerizes me. And I know he is behind it, can hear that influence, just like David Gilmore's influence on Pink Floyd. Yes, yes, Mette is a prime contributor as well as all the touches each of the other musicians bring to the fray, but Lars? He is just a sick, mad talented guy. Yup!

I agree. I don't know if he's behind the business side too, but these two have success written all over them. It's really brilliant producing, bringing elements from literally all the best music of the 1950's on. And it all sounds so familiar even on the first play through....
Asteroid Galaxy Tour is a very good and unique band with an awesome sound, great front woman, and killer songs. I'm not sure why they haven't blown up yet as they have been out for a while now. I don't live in Europe so I can't speak to their popularity there, but in America not many people know of them. With their combination of talent and songs they should be bigger by now. The only thing I can think of is the business and marketing side is lacking. I would be curious if anyone who lives in Europe has any opinions on it.
The songs are good but using recorded backing tracks lowers the quality. The vocalist presents unfortunate detunes as in the song "My Club" minute 05:08
just came across this band tonight so many years later ? they are good musicians and she is certainly an entertaining and capable singer ( I agree , sort of a D Harry) and I too cannot understand the sleep crowd?? too bad the cameras focused so much on the lame ones and not on those who were enjoying, as the cheers were fairly loud so there was obviously lots enjoying it.. blame the cameramen for poor choices. don't get it, whose side are they supposed to be on??
