I've been trying to do more of this 90's Kawaii design work. I've got a couple and one of them has made some sales but I just couldn't get my head around a good way to make them stand out. Your breaking out the layers will simplified what I was trying to do in my head and it really helped. I appreciate it very much!!!!

Hey Juna! Really enjoy your videos and the advice and strategies you share with us. I created a cupcake design but I’m not entirely sure how to color it in Affinity Designer, is there a tool I’m missing?
If you created it in Affinity Designer you should be able to color it in Affinity Designer no problem.... if you brought it into Affinity Designer as a PNG or JPG then you will have a problem

And also, how you did the backgrounds like the grid with the slanted lines(as if you're viewing the grid diagonally) and the colored grid with the gradients? Thank you very much.
You don't use gradients you use halftones to simulate the gradient effect that's the secret

Awesome! Juna can you tell me if it's possible to have vertical text in affinity designer? I can't figure it out, other than doing a letter at a time on top of the other. I know I can rotate "left to right" text but I was hoping for top to bottom text, if that makes sense. So the word goes downwards but the letters are in their normal orientation. Thanks
Yeah... the type a letter and hit return and type the next letter is what I would do.... I don't think there is another way to do vertical text... but honestly I haven't looked into it.

Yes, you can... You can change (edit) anything you want to.

Are you talking about RedBubble or Merch by Amazon... it is really hard to make it on the first page for either... It's mostly about getting the sale... so make sure your design is something people want to buy and wear if it's a shirt or if it's a sticker

Yes you can get sales without ads... if you are designing for the audiences on RedBubble they should find you..... look for popular topics and create original ideas and designs that those audiences want to buy.

Lol, just deleted my strawberry milk cow on Amazon. I give my designs 4 to 6 weeks then deletE to catch current trends. Do you think this is correct strategy.?
For tier 10?....yes, that is a good strategy

I am accepted into Merch by Amazon and upon uploading the design the Publish key button is not activated, only the Save draft key button is activated.
Did you already upload a design? I think you only get 1 a day when you first start
Last three symbols should mean "cake" as they're the same for both "pancake" and "cupcake" ;)

I've posted 2 "trends" about 2 weeks before you mentioned them in videos,.... and nothing. I think my descriptions must stink. I want to just list keywords upon keywords, at this point, in the bullet lists but that looks so tacky.
Some trends are tough... they are guaranteed to make you sales but it's better than trying to guess what people are looking for.
Don't know how I bumped onto this. All in all GREAT clip ❤️😄. I also have been watching those rather similar from mStarTutorials and kinda wonder how you guys create these stuff. MStar Tutorials also had cool info about similiar things on his vids.
