Something related to segual desire that men cannot experientially understand is what I can only think to call ‘pvxxy management’. Every day of every month women have to manage what’s happening ‘down there’ which is a reflection of the fluctuations of our hormonal cycles. Something is always about to come out of it, wrong with it, or wants into it. Then there’s literally everything in society that seems to want to talk about or manage access to our pvxxies. Menopause doesn’t give us the break that we deserve . It can be exhausting on a level that we don’t even recognize. So, men please understand that we might need a break from thinking about our pvxxies for a spell !
Dr. Tassone, thank you SO much for this! It is despicable how women are blamed and discounted in countless ways within the medical community. I have shared your name with multiple Facebook menopause groups (the ones I belong to are “Surgical Menopause” groups, as that is my situation); I profess that you are someone women need to listen to and turn to for education, advice and treatment. Let us all know when you are licensed in North Carolina - I’ll be one of your first telehealth patients!
So tired of hearing this:I have no sex drive period. I don’t even want to ‘self pleasure’ anymore..my sex drive is GONE. Not because I’m tired, or he didn’t do the dishes or take out the trash. It disappeared at the onset of meno and hasn’t come back. And no, testosterone is not the only hormone that is key to libido. We also need estrogen. Lots of estrogen! I’ve had to do tons of research and trial and error to get to where I’m horney again!! It’s not because of situational factors. It’s ALL HORMONES!!
Dr Tassone - how does testosterone prescribing work with your telehealth patients? Do patients provide you with a compounding pharmacy in their area or do you prescribe products that are licensed for men and tell the patient how to use it (reducing the daily dose)? We also hear that it is not possible/legal for doctors to prescribe testosterone for women via telehealth. I’d like to get some clarity on all this before making an appointment with you. I’d appreciate your answer.
I’m curious- if not pellets or injections, how do you prescribe testosterone? I was under the impression that creams didn’t work well. 🧐 Sure seems like a cream would be easier, particularly for someone new to BHRT.
You explained everything so well and agree with you. I'm mid 50s, been thru menopause and feel great. I don't take any hormones or any prescriptions. What I personally feel is that working out (weights and strength training) and a balanced diet (proteins, veggies/greens and fruit) makes all the difference. No sodas or chips, and limited sweets.... gotta have chocolate. 😉🍫 My libido is doing great! I hope for all women to find a great provider that listens and truly understands a women's body. But exercise and eating right (and try to get your sleep) will go a long way.
Good for you and all that certainly helps a lot. But…you’re still young at 55. Probably still coasting on some hormones. In my case, the real hormone depletion effects didn’t hit me until about 60-62 and then hit like a freight train, fast and furious. So I started hrt and whew, do I feel better. I’m in exactly that generation screwed by the women’s study of the late 90’s. So ladies, think about taking those hormones earlier, the cliff is coming.
I had been eating very low carb and jogging/ exercising across the change and enjoying my intimate life till about 72-74 and then poof all gone in spite of compounded estradiol and progesterone creams.
I wonder does your estrogen have to be a certain level before trying testosterone? My estrogen is only 90 so wondering is that too low to add in testosterone? Thanks 🙏
Isn't that a question you should ask your Dr? & isn't your patch on all the time? I use my T cream in the morning, my P pill in the evening, & I split my E cream between morning & evening...
Thank you Dr. I love your humor and sincerity 💜

This Dr. spreads a lot of disinformation.
Thank you for being candid! We need this topic covered so much more ❤✌️

Don"t trust a male gyno, especially this one. He verbally reprimanded my wife!

Topical creams or gels that are compounded.
What about post menopausal symptoms that affect sex drive?
Lots of those too.

Only so far….i do all that and have had a difficult time during and after menopause. I’d say you’re in the minority.

@@CCOREY5 Thank you for sharing. I will definitely take that into consideration.
…and I do take 1 gram of testosterone cream …along with my estrogen cream and progesterone pills.

No
Doc! You are so darn funny & informative!
"You may want to rip his face off." 😂
I really enjoyed this video. One of your best … don’t make your moves in the kitchen. Do the dishes!
I’m 57 and my doctor prescribed progesterone pill, estrogen patch and a testosterone cream. Should you always take testosterone with the other two?

Not necessarily. It’s individualized and will depend on your symptoms.
