Yo eric, did you know from an early age that you'd be one of the best in the world? Were you exceptionally good right from the get go? Or did you just love the game and then it came naturally from the passion? Curious to know how chess was for you when you first started and how old you were.
Actually he did not, not at all in fact. He started quite late and was not that good in the beginning, probably around ~1200 Elo if I remember correctly. He became really good through a lot of hard work, not necessarily because of exceptional talent. Chess was and probably is like an addiction for him, that’s where he gets the motivation to work even harder. At least that’s what he said in an interview quite recently. Hope that helps :)
