Hi guys just a quick note i messes up during the kick session and said auto and soft knee when i ment to say tweak settings and auto mode. Ill be showing the soft knee in a later video
We can get one very very soon maybe by next week ill try to get 2 or make one big one sound good? Also any questions you have on how to use it feel free to hit us up on our side we can walk you through any issues
@@mattglassner3105 awsome we will dedicate the next few weeks to making some videos on these units and go to our site and contact us and i can walk you through every question you have one on one
Damn. watch yer ears everybody at 4:22. Rookie mistake my brother! Too bad these units VU backlighting burn out. I have 3 of these units and all have been replaced with LEDs. Still cant believe they make them new and updated from a 12v wall wart to a 16v wall wart and with a Digital IO port on the back but I've never seen where to buy them. thx for the demo, be careful with your gain matching :)
Great demo! It's good to hear distinct differences. I just ordered one of these tonight. I've got an Cloudlifted SM7B mic and feel I was bottlenecking using a cheap Behringer Ultragain Pro and Behringer Mini FBQ (and Alesis 3632 compressor between). I expect I'm going to hear a difference.
Nice video. I only do voice work and can buy a DBX 286A in mint condition for $50 or a Presonus Studio Channel in mint condition for $150. Which would you buy for voice work? Thank you.
The dbx is very good if you don't need fine turned controls you really can't go wrong with either for general voice over work Plus the dbx has a expander gate to help with hiss and noise. For tracking something like guitar or bass I would choose the presonus
Hey man I just picked one of these up! I'm trying to run this as an hardware insert but when I engage it on a track, it dips the volume about 10 db. I'm aware of the +/- 10 db trim on the line input but is there a way to change this?
hello, please tell me how I connect it to presonus 1824c ..? which entrance ..? and which cable do I need? .. Thanks ... among other things, I can make the various adjustments after recording the track .. and how?
Hello are you using to mix or record? For mixing i use 2 balanced trs 1/4 inch cables one comes out of one of your line outs on the interface. The other is the line out of the studio channel back into the line in of the interface
@@IntheDAW record...but tell me, is the use of studio channel and everything that allows you to do from the compressor to the equalizer something to do before recording the track or after recording it? .. if later, how do you apply the various effects to the track already registered? (use cubase)
For recording you go into the mic or xlr input than out of the line output into the line input of the console. Do not go into the xlr of your interface because that expects mic level signal not line level.
@@gordon9682 it is like a plugin in real life basically. So you can record thru it to get the sound you like before it hits the computer. I recorded my voice thru it. Or you can mix your music thru it. Like in this video where I played the drums back from my daw into it than back in
hi, I make song by first playing guitar or keyboard while singing then in the mix i add other instruments. I just ordered this preamp channel strip from guitar center but now i don't how I am going to record from the voice mic and the guitar mic or the keyboard because this has only one channel can you plese advise?
Unfortunately each unit is mono. Meaning you will either have to choose one signal to record at a time. Or you track things one at a time. The other option is record your vocals with it as a preamp then mix the other instrument in separately in the daw.
@@IntheDAW I am sorry but I don't seem to understand the other option, it seem that it already what you said in the beginning "Meaning you will either have to choose one signal to record at a time" what is the second option ?
i have this preamp but i use FL studio. is there any software or any way i can do what pipleline does but for my daw? cause so far i can only mess with the settings and then once i record i cant mess with the preamp settings to change that recorded audio takes live.
Hi still works use it alot on vocals and on bass guitar. I would recommend spending a extra 20 dollars and getting the 3rd party tube uograde because they have less noise and help the drive section sound less agressive. But i use it every day
How to u set the presonus in the interface? Is normal use some volume to achieve a good hearing sound? Or i leave the interface channel at 0 and crank the studio channel for good monitoration?
@@danielboaro182 hi so I think what you are asking if I use gain after the preamp. The answer is no when I use it as a mic pre I go line level into my console with no extra gain needed that way I keep it all analog. When using it as a line level mixing unit I use the output gain to level my signal back into the console. But you can if you need to the only issue is the gain on a line level signal can be noisy if you do it from the interface. So its best to do it from the unit.
Right. Im from brazil, sorry for the bad english. Heres my setup: Mic Pre Studio Channel (here you use trs cable or xlr?) Focusrite 18i20 scarlett (here the channel that is receveing the pre you leave at 0 gain, right?) Reaper. Thanks..
@@danielboaro182 I use XLR if using a microphone and trs if I'm mixing using gear. Than trs into the line level of the forcusrite but no instrument input just line level. I think you can have your gain on low but not zero for the forcusrite because they don't have true line level like my console does.
You bypass the preamps by plugin into the line inputs that will bypass the pre amp and turn it into a 10 db line level gain control. It will let you use the saturation but you will not have the pre amp gain.
Yes you can. The 10 db of gain at line level is just incase you send in a low level signal it gives you 10db of gain you and turn up but you can input and output at +4 but if you are going in at +4 go into the line input. Mic input will expect a mic level signal.
