In regards to Yagyu's "unexplained energy blasts" I have a theory.
Every Hazo girl has an animal they're associated with and Yagyu's is the squid. Several attacks summon spectral tentacles and some specials even bring out the whole damn animal. That along with the black colour of the projectiles always led me to interpret those blasts as squid ink.

My only disappointment of this list is that you didn't use Yondu's "I'M MARY POPPINS YA'LL" line in this list, but this was overall a great list to see. Can't wait to go all guns blazing with your last list of Weapons Month V.
That water earth combo at the end is because Ice meets the definition of a mineral crystal

Parasoul (for crying out loud, her name is a pun with Parasol, I would dare say she's even Top 3)

Henry Hatsworth/Hat Kid (both use an umbrella as a bat).
Iaijutsu isn't about hiding the swords reach. It's a technique for starting a fight. No historical swordsman would resheath their sword mid battle. There is no advantage and significant disadvantages to doing so. I love Rurouni Kenshin as much as anyone, but I can still recognize how unrealistic it is.
Shizumaru and his spinning parasol super are legit one of my favorite characters and favorite super moves in gaming history. i even named my palamute after him
I was going to jokingly shout "blasphemy" for not have Peach as #1 on this list, but after seeing the #1 entry, I just couldn't do it. You made a compelling argument, as you do in many of your vids.

If it's company ever makes a remaster version, I am hoping they use the gameplay of 360, but keep the extra content of the PS3 version. Oh and make Crescendo faster. He was SOO slow and didn't have a long reach weapon. At least Jazz had that lol. This is still my fav game though.

Shout out to Neopolitan (RWBY) and Umbrella (Rock Hard Gladiator/Hyun's Dojo). They may not be video game characters (though Neo was in BBTAG), But they really know their way around a parasol/umbrella.

also one thing about Yagyu, in one of the Trailers I think we see her juggling a freaking DELIVERY TRUCK on her umbrella.
Oh, and the eye she covers has one of her Secret Ninja Arts sealed in it which is unleashed when she removes it.
Also, Yagyu's Umbrella does have a sword in it in the anime.
Maybe the Umbrella is supposed to match with her Ninja Element of water?

Peach is expected but has every right to be on the list. She’s often one of the best characters in the games she’s playable in. Edna.....holy crud, I can’t believe you put her on this list and I’m so glad you did. She’s the highlight of Zestiria for me.

Seeing even like 1.5 seconds of a clip from a Suikoden game at the beginning made me choke on air, the series never gets the recognition it deserves

Glad to see Eternal Sonata make an appearance. It was one of my favorite games I played on the Xbox 360!
I KNOW! I literally freaked out seeing my girl Polka! Did you ever play the PS3 version? I have to say gameplay wise I prefer 360 because the difficulty was more balanced. I didn't mind the extra content of PS3 version, but the getting 100% fully (by playing encore mode), I had to grind a lot more because the difficulty spikes were worse, plus they changed up the positioning of your playable chars and foes. So story wise, I prefer PS3, but gameplay wise I prefer 360. Regardless, it's still my fav game to this day.
@@Zodia195 Sadly, I never had the pleasure of trying it on the PS3. I will say, however, that I'm glad to have another person who enjoyed this hidden gem. I wish they'd put this on Steam but it's looking like another game stuck in the past

@@MistaShadowman Omg I love Falsetto. That ending with Astra of the Heart always made me cry too. I have that song on my playlist. But Polka is my fav char to play. It's sad because she a good char, but I never used Claves the brief time you get her in Ch. 3, not until near the end of the game when you find the hidden dungeon in the area.
@@Zodia195 Yeah, that part of trying to obtain Claves was a trek and a half, but was kind of worth imo. The game's light/dark mechanic was also a really interesting thing as well. Question: what was your thoughts on the whole camera abilities with Beat? I thought it was ok, but felt kind of weird in the midst of fights :/

In the case of Shizumaru, it's not so much that he's a demon.. he just has the bloodlust of a demon, similar to Zankuro. In fact, the two characters might be related - to what extent, no one knows.
I can't remember the last time where I saw the subject and immediately knew the likely #1. But this is such a specific category I was 99% certain Edna was top 2 minimum
JoshScorcher did a "Top 10 DLC Bosses" and just from the title, LITERALLY every person in the comments knew what #1 would be. 10-2 didn't matter. They were only there for him to have an excuse to make the list. #1 was the entire reason the list was made, and if he could have made a "Top 10" list while using only one entry, he absolutely would have.
I feel like Nanba from Yakuza: Like a Dragon at least deserved an honorable mention. Especially since a lot of more fantastic abilities that we see are a product of Ichiban's imagination, meaning that this homeless man is charging into fights with various criminal organizations with nothing more than an umbrella. That takes some serious stones man.

Ah someone else remembers Eternal Sonata. That game was my introduction to the jrpg sub genre and a big reason why I love it so much today. In terms of gameplay it may not hold up against a true modern masterpiece like Xenoblade or Ni No Kuni, but I still love it nonetheless.
Though I disagree on Polka being a Mary Sue. She’s a teenager who acts impulsively especially with her pure heart. That’s the tragedy of her seemingly inescapable fate. Someone who died before she could live.
Shame Neo from RWBY couldn't be in the running for this even with her BBTAG apperance. Curious where she could have ended up.

Starting off good with Eternal Sonata! That game is a misunderstood gem and needs to be talked about more!
One other thing to add to Edna: she also uses the parasol because that's about as heavy a weapon as she can handle after using her special ability. Think of it like overworking her body to exhaustion for a single heavy task. So there are even MORE reasons for her to do this.
she also weilds it as the umbrella is an object tied with the oposite atribute that she has which is water.... while mikleo get flamed by edna and the other one for not using something of the oposite atribute (pretty sure his staff/lance is wind atributed instead of an earth item like a hammer or something)

That moment you either feel like Mary Poppins at her Kingsman job.
The one thing I know about Tales of Zestiria that many people who played it, (especially if you lived in Japan) found disappointing was how Alisha was handled, she wound up leaving the party 1/3 of the way into the game after she was advertised to be the secondary lead character for the game.
That and the fact that Sorey is BORING, all the other characters actually have too Much personality compared to him

I found this list release date funny since just at the beginning of the month, umbrella was just announced as playable fighter and considering she is more likely to use primarily her umbrella unlike her older sister that she use other weapons an assist for her playstyle

When i saw this on Twitter I couldn’t wait to see it. And I love this list. Parasols are so elegant yet effective. Hmmm makes me wonder why I never thought to use this weapon myself?
Zesteria was actually my first Tales of game, and it holds a special place in my heart because of Edna and Mikleo. Seriously though, the first time I saw her, my comment about her which still holds true is, "Look! It's Toph 2.0!" She even picks on the water boy, how could you NOT compare her to Toph?

Spy is more of a knife/stealth fighter. The revolver is more of a last resort when the spy is caught.

I know this game isn't well known, even amongst JRPG enthusiasts like me, but if Polka from Eternal Sonata shows up, I am going to go crazy because she's one of my fav video game chars from my fav video game and she uses a parasol to fight! Definitely one of my fav chars to play too, her fighting style is SOOO versatile from healing moves to great offensive moves.
Yeah, Tales of Zestiria was dissapointing, but Edna is indeed one of the beat characters in the series.
So on top of everything else, Okuni has great taste in Pokémon, to?! What a woman indeed!

Honestly, I wanna see Peach get her own spinoff game series. I've been thinking of various ways Nintendo could give us more than one Mario RPG while still only technically sticking to one true turn-based RPG series, and one idea I thought up was why not make a spinoff turn-based RPG series centered around a single character? Maybe we could have Paper Luigi give us the classic style PM games we've all been demanding or maybe we could get a spinoff series where Princess Peach gets her own allies to battle evil and be useful, maybe Legend of the Seven Stars style.

Then again I've been a fan of Senran Kagura since Burst for the 3DS and I'm more of a fan of the main games aka the hack-and-slash, and was more a fan of the gameplay, and the story and not the "fan-service" and yes despite what many believe Senran Kagura has an epic plot that gets at time real dark, like for example both Yagyu, and Shiki having at first issues controlling their special powers Yagyu her demon eye, and Shiki her vampire half but with the help of their friends and mentors they manage to gain full control over them to the point they can unleash their full-potential without threat of becoming rage-fueled monsters.

@@theskullboy8700 Yep a more adult/mature Kirby is the perfect description for Senran Kagura as despite the cutesy/fan-service nature the series is mostly known for it has a epic plot filled with at times dark, and tragic backstories.

Another one I really like is Shizuku Tokikaze from Akiba's Trip. She doesn't have any special combat abilities (other than above average physical prowess), she just fights hoards of lab-made vampires toe to toe with her umbrella as a melee weapon.
As a bonus, thw player can eventually get and use her umbrella themselves and utilize her moveset.
I knew before I even clicked on the video that Peach was going to be on here
