In the 60's, these guys were ubiquitous on TV. They influenced a lot of groups and put fun in rock and roll. Put them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - now!
@@tomgebarowski8156 I agree. It is not a secret anymore that most rock acts recorded their records using studio musicians. The record labels knew the studio musicians could knock out a song a lot faster and better. The acts usually learned to play their own songs AFTER they were recorded and BEFORE they went on tour. The Hall should focus on acts like this from the 60's. Too many are overlooked to appeal to "diversity."
WOW!!! Just saw this! On Mike Douglas to top it off! 3 songs! Loved them since l was a kid! Saw them twice. Didn't know they did so much Charity work! Bless Them! Belong in R&R Hall of Lame. Formerly FAME!

Of all the talk shows that had contemporary pop culture guests, M.D.'s were the most eclectic. Jeez, he even had John & Yoko on as co-hosts for an entire week! But unfortunately, like all variety shows from back then, the groups were always forced to mime their hit songs.
Was this Mike Douglas show from Philly or LA? Growing up in the 60's my next store neighbor who was eight months pregnant and was on his show and because she was really huge, Mike made a point to talk with her in the audience. Douglass was a true gentleman and his show was underated. I think he even had the Rolling Stones on, girls were screaming lol
these guys rocked my world with their awesome music and lifted your spirits to a new high ....... they have a special spot in my heart because their songs debuted at an important time growing up ...... thanks, boys!
I hear ya! That drum roll on the snare drum kills me to this day on She'd Rather Be With Me! 2024 Also Dino Danelli, R.l.P. from the Young Rascals made me become a drum player starting at 11.
Wow! Compare this to the Ed Sullivan show of May 1967, and one can see that Sgt. Pepper had had its impact. Mike Douglas and Allen Ludden! So square they make Ed Sullivan seem like Murray the K
i found these guys and have been trying to devour anything by them I can find. looking for flo and eddie radio tapes and the phlorescent leech and eddie on vinyl.
Love the video for "She's My Girl"! Mike and the audience really seem to doubt those ages, especially Howard but they really were telling the truth :p In an age where so many celebs shaved a few years off their ages, these guys were being honest and seemed to be doubted anyway. Howard definitely didn't look 20 though so I see the reason. :p I always loved that song, glad to see it got some play in its day. I liked Flo and Eddie's Zappa and radio stuff post-Turtles but I do wish this group could've kept it together for a few more albums, they were woefully underrated.
Gosh, guy, you are sharing some great videos, thanks. The Mike Douglas Show was the best afternoon talk show of the sixties, and had on many of the great bands from that era. I’ve watched most of them, but never this set.
I agree. Some other good songs are Too Young to be One, Flying High, Just a Room, To See the Sun. And more. But yes She’s My Girl was on a different level

The audio doesn't quite match up to the video that's the problem here! But still great, GREAT videos of great songs and Howard Kaylan's "Well, how old are YOU? remark was cracking me up. Funny guys!
As of August 2021 all of the above band members are still with us...hallelujah 😉

Love The Turtles-They had a lot of great songs such as "Happy Together","You Showed Me" & "She'd Rather Be With Me".
Love the turtles growing up in the 1960s! One of my all time favorite groups from the 1960s!
The Turtles lived the real lifestyle of the fictional Monkees.... and they made great music, highly underrated.
Absolutely revolutionary. This band was better than perfect. They are a truly extraordinary group.
I just think it’s amazing how Mark Volman became so successful playing the male Totie Fields.
Totie Fields is the male Mark Volman and they're both Divine.

I’m absolutely loving these videos of The Turtles, thank RUclips for finding them. What a group they were and the drummer especially was superb.
They went through 4 drummers.
The (Flo)rescent Leach is like a magnet!! Just got to watch his antics and facial expressions!
Fond memories of junior high school.
This yet ANOTHER perfect pop song from the Turtles!! And I’m a metal head
As you can see, Flo was quite the musician.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS FROM THE 1960S!
The Turtles..Elenore was the theme of our local pirate station Merseyside Alternative Radio back in the post-punk days in Liverpool. Transcendent..
I love Howard he is so nice, funny, and very handsome ❤ The turtles is a superb group! I really recommend listening to them.
Adorable and sing well too!!👍🍀🍉🍎❤️💚

The old Mike Douglas show! That show was very underrated!

Back in the 80s. I couldn't get into the car without my bestie insisting on "our song" so happy together. I still have a dime my precious

I miss the Mike Douglas Show. He had a lot of great interviews and groups on. The Turtles and Flo & Eddie are great!
I love how they're not even trying to look like they're lip-synching. All hail Captain Cloud and the Rainbow Telegraph!
Yeay he is playing a garden shear. In another video he is playing tamborine with a roll of duct tape.
“Film is like the new media for pop entertainers”. Howard Kaylan said that about 13 years before MTV!
Nice film with the great She's my girl.
Even lip syncing they were great. Mark Volman was a blast.
