Claire's Piercing(s) gone wrong storytime! To start off, I had my regular earring piercings and a 2nd hole piercing done at Walmart (not much better), but decided to get a 2nd /3rd piercing on my left ear same day at a Claire's. I was about 14. Well, 2 mistakes happened here. 1. I'm at Claire's and 2. never get two new piercings side by side same day. First piercing (2nd hole) was pretty painful, but I didn't say anything- just a sharp but quick sting. I get the second piercing (3rd hole). The piercing gun gets jammed, but the gun didn't fully pierce my ear lobe....the stud is half way through it. The person wielding the gun has a calm face with desperate eyes and seemingly has no idea what to do. They keep dousing my ear with that ear cleaner stuff to "numb" the pain while the store manager calls 3 other Claire's in the local area asking for advice.... I was in the seat for about 25 mins holding the piercing gun to my burning, bright red ear lobe....(about 40 mins total if you count the first piercing followed by the mishap). Losing patience herself and aware of my pain, my mom digs around in her purse and finds a pair of tweezers and unjams the gun in about 5 mins... I don't really remember if they reloaded the gun and tried again or kept the gun to my ear after unjamming it to finish the piercing. Either way, it was 45 mins of my life in a chair, half of it in pain. Do you think I got any kind of discount? They discounted me HALF-OFF a bottle of ear disinfectant / cleaner that was $11. Still had to pay for the piercings despite the time & the gun jamming. Those piercings NEVER healed right. They gave me problems for about 4 years- always itchy, constantly had to repierce one of the holes despite wearing earrings daily. In highschool, I finally let those sorry earholes heal up! The End... (NEVER get piercings at Claire's).
Lol yesss. That would be me from 1997-2002. I started going there early on (ie: elementary school) because back then they made some excellent hair clips and hair bands for thick curly hair that liked to frizz under the slightest smidge of humidity *and* when the hair is brushed out and dried after a shower (IE: mine). I have no idea of the quality of the hair products now. I wouldn't be shocked if they got even more plastic.

@@hillaryandmichaelcrymes3702 which is so weird considering piercing guns are the worst method of piercing as it has a much higher chance of scarring and even infection (they're extremely difficult to clean) and the employees are not exactly trained. apparently their training consists if piercing foam a couple of times. you will literally get better results buying a piercing kit with piercing needles from amazon and some cheap medical grade stainless steal piercings. probably cheaper too as well. and also significantly safer especially if you're piercing cartilage (piercing guns can crack ur cartilage, if pierced wrong cartilage can even liquify) because the piercing needles are exactly what piercers at tattoo shops use.
they sell a LOT of official Disney, Beanie Babies, Squishmallows, and musicians merch which is why they’re still in business! Their prices are definitely insane and the plastic waste is ridiculous in there as well, but yeah they mostly attract kids with official merch and the piercings

I've never been near any Claire's shop but almost stopped using makeup overall because I've heard that many of their products, including Jojo Siwa 's, tested positive for asbestos and I was so paranoid. Talc in makeup isn't regulated that much so it can easily contain asbestos if the talc mine is contaminated with it. I don't wanna ruin anyone's nostalgia or do any fearmongering, got back into using makeup regularly, but I avoid these companies like plague which have had any shady things going on and tried to cover up their mistakes like not testing their talc (*cough cough* Johnson & Johnson knowingly selling asbestos contaminated baby powder FOR DECADES)

When I was a kid/early teen I always bought strictly accessories from Claire’s, and for that alone I think what they offer is okay. The $5 rhinestones seemed reasonable, and I always liked the earrings they offered. But the makeup…. I’d enact a 500 yard restraining order against lmao. I think it’s a fun store to visit even in my mid-twenties heh… but the prices can be outlandish. Regardless it was super fun to watch, and as someone basically the same age as Naomi I found this so entertaining and nostalgic 😭
As a current Claire's ASM this was literally spot on 😂😂 look I would have cried if someone like you came into my store. Also as an employee, at least in my store, we laugh at the prices of the items. They are absolutely RIDICULOUS and even on some of the items we tell people to go elsewhere because they are definitely cheaper. But otherwise I'm such a sucker for any new little thing that comes into the store tho so I always test everything out and the makeup is 1000000% not fucking it 😂 unless it's literally the Eylure Lashes, the lip glosses are oookayish but they eyeshadows are NOT it. Also those strawberry things were toe separators which was the absolute funniest to me because I own them🤦🏼♀️ they work really well actually lmao. This was fun. I had those butterfly clips but I never saw ones with extensions or I'd have been all over that! I'm in Australia, so we don't have Clairs, I think I got my accessories from Taka Jewel Box (at least they were letting you know straight up it was tacky) I think makeup was just by mail order on the back of magazines when I was under 13, and maybe kmart after that for those ones that had 5 levels and slide out drawers and were the most amazing things ever.
i worked at claire’s/icing and the deals were always popping. however it’s all so damn expensive😭 workers always got 50% off and 60% during holiday months. i have way too much stuff from there as a 19 year old LMFAO

I used to always go into Claire's when I was a child, there are barely any shops left where i live, when there used to be soo many claire's, i feel old now😂😂 Also the Claire's makeup always terrified me😂 and that was before the whole asbestos thing came out, it reminds me too much of children makeup (which it basically is) and my skill could never handle that stuff😂😂😂😂😂

I owned this one palette from Claire's during my freshman year of high school. It was my go to. One day I lost it and things were not the same 😭 until I bought my 1st urban decay palette. Back when they still had these loud colorful palettes

Side note: when I see people ripping off face masks that are painful I never understood why they don't just take a warm wet cloth and wipe it off rather than peeling your skin off!

I've never been near any Claire's shop but almost stopped using makeup overall because I've heard that many of their products, including Jojo Siwa 's, tested positive for asbestos and I was so paranoid. Talc in makeup isn't regulated that much so it can easily contain asbestos if the talc mine is contaminated with it. I don't wanna ruin anyone's nostalgia or do any fearmongering, got back into using makeup regularly, but I avoid these companies like plague which have had any shady things going on and tried to cover up their mistakes like not testing their talc (*cough cough* Johnson & Johnson knowingly selling asbestos contaminated baby powder FOR DECADES)

When I was a kid/early teen I always bought strictly accessories from Claire’s, and for that alone I think what they offer is okay. The $5 rhinestones seemed reasonable, and I always liked the earrings they offered. But the makeup…. I’d enact a 500 yard restraining order against lmao. I think it’s a fun store to visit even in my mid-twenties heh… but the prices can be outlandish. Regardless it was super fun to watch, and as someone basically the same age as Naomi I found this so entertaining and nostalgic 😭

As a current Claire's ASM this was literally spot on 😂😂 look I would have cried if someone like you came into my store. Also as an employee, at least in my store, we laugh at the prices of the items. They are absolutely RIDICULOUS and even on some of the items we tell people to go elsewhere because they are definitely cheaper. But otherwise I'm such a sucker for any new little thing that comes into the store tho so I always test everything out and the makeup is 1000000% not fucking it 😂 unless it's literally the Eylure Lashes, the lip glosses are oookayish but they eyeshadows are NOT it. Also those strawberry things were toe separators which was the absolute funniest to me because I own them🤦🏼♀️ they work really well actually lmao. Just seeing all the products you got, knowing the prices PERSONALLY, and literally just knowing how that experience is, is just perfect💕💕💕💕 I love you Naomi and you never fail to make me laugh🥰

I'm in Australia, so we don't have Clairs, I think I got my accessories from Taka Jewel Box (at least they were letting you know straight up it was tacky)
I think makeup was just by mail order on the back of magazines when I was under 13, and maybe kmart after that for those ones that had 5 levels and slide out drawers and were the most amazing things ever.
i worked at claire’s/icing and the deals were always popping. however it’s all so damn expensive😭 workers always got 50% off and 60% during holiday months. i have way too much stuff from there as a 19 year old LMFAO
