    This is a super cool video and the subtitles didn't detract from it but that music sure did.

    Very informative video in it's intended purpose....plating.

    I think you did a great job. Music didn't bother me in the least. I was watching what you were doing. I am trained in brush plating through LDC Iearned from late Hutch. Great guy and knew his stuff. I trained with copper,nickel,and chrome. Keep up the great work. All the best.

    I'm loving the air fittings for quick disconnect from the rectifier, that's a great idea. Do you use Sifco chemicals? why the scotchbrite on the anodes (I do brush cad and zinc-nickel) nice outcome.

    • @paularato6036
      @paularato6036 4 года назад

      Hi Eric. At the time of this video we used LDC products but now we do use Sifco as they have taken over the chemical supply business. Scotchbrite helps keep a tighter grain structure for heavy builds. Good of you to spot the quick disconnects. That is NOT Sifco's idea!
      You work in the Aviation industry?

    Polishing looks fantastic but how durable is the repair comprable to original stainless steel.?

    • @paularato6036
      @paularato6036 4 года назад

      It is a metallurgical/molecular bond and has been tested to a hold strength of over 10,000 psi. The harness of the base metal is approximately 32 Rc, the nickel deposit is 52 Rc. The density is approximately 3 times that of a chrome plated deposit.

    Where are the cathode and the anode connected?
    the current passes through the lathe bearings?

    • @paularato6036
      @paularato6036 4 года назад

      Yes, the cathode (-) is connected to the lathe but it is low DC amperage and it does not effect the lathe or the bearings. We have a lathe in our shop that is used daily for the past 20 years and no issues on the bearing at all. The anode is the plating tool.

      +Warren Tesh ,
      Hi Warren. Thanks for watching. We made this video in China while working in a Candu Nuclear facility. There was a lot of Chinese being spoken in the back ground and I figured this may be better for most. I am a sailor by hobby, it was inspirational at the time. The content was my focus, the music was for the dreamer in me.

    • @RobertSeviour1
      @RobertSeviour1 8 лет назад

      +Warren Tesh My thoughts exactly. If there was background noise while filming, there's no reason a commentary track couldn't have been dubbed on later. I hate the current plague of chewing gum music on so many YT videos.

    It is good only for non hard material it is not useful to hydraulic stafe . Because nickel is less than 15 RC . Hydraulic need 55 RC.

      "severe" Sorry, I was in China that the time. Between learning a bit of Chinese and the rush I was in to make this, there are definitely some typos and grammatical errors. The next one we produce will be a little more polished. Thanks for watching.

  • @ronharper469

    I enjoyed the video. However, hearing the technician tell What he was doing & why/what was taking place would have been real nice. The music in these how to videos really takes away from it all.

    • @paularato6036
      @paularato6036 4 года назад

      Can't tell all the information in one video. There is a lot of information about Brush Plating out there but it takes years to master. This was meant to show what we can do, it is not a how to video. The volume control should take care of your other issue.

  • @michaelgarafalo2924

    You need someone who speaks English to proof read the subtitles for grammar.

    • @cmichaelhoover8432
      @cmichaelhoover8432 6 лет назад

      That was to be my comment exactly. It is apparent after watching the entire video that the process is good and technician is skilled, however I almost stopped the video early on as the misspellings and grammar are so poor that I first thought the video was BS.
