- This Skyline Attractions Skywarp had a short run at SeaWorld San Diego from 2019 until summer 2023. It was the second Skywarp the company produced after the also defunct Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The ride experience was overall not the most comfortable due to the restraints offered. The company now offers the same model but with a more open, lap bar restraint, though they have overall shifted away from Skywarps and are now focused on their single rail family and childrens coasters.

This is defunct for a good reason
Honestly it’s not a bad concept the main problem IMO was the restraints. Skyline now offers this same model but with a comfortable lap bar and I think that would be a lot more enjoyable should a park choose to pick one up.
@@CoasterStudiosyea it seems like the hang time would be better and maybe the hill would even give a little floater if there was a lap bar

Part of me wishes I rode it during my one and only visit to SeaWorld in 2022, on novelty alone. I was going through a river rapids phase at the time, so I just marathoned that until park close.
I was able to get on this and I can attest this thing was absolute garbage

At least it wasn’t Harley Quinn… I rode that and it gave me a worse headache than Rip Ride Rocket at Universal Studios Florida
I live in north San Diego County and when I went down to Sea World in August of 2022 for my birthday it was closed. Ended up hearing that it was a maintenance nightmare.
When Skyline Attractions noticed Larson was mad that a Larson Loop isn't considered a coaster.
It’s got flat ride carnival vibes. Basically a kid ride. I have no idea why a major park would pick this up. Tire drive? Hardly worked? Probably not.
When we went this ride was my sister's favorite ride in the park lol

this is my home park, and i even though it looks like crap i wish i would’ve ridden it before it closed but i wasn’t into roller coasters, and once i did get into rollercoasters it was already SBNO.
One question, I go to Fuji q highland in 2.5 weeks but Fujiyama will be closed due to maintenance. Should I still visit the park or skip it.
Strangely, this video releases on the same day as I've ridden the purple contraption one year ago (rode Tidal Twister only twice on May 19th, 2023)
I have been a pass holder since 2018 and not even once I was able to ride it.
The park saw a decrease in attendance when tidal twister opened in 2019 after a significant increase in 2018 from electric eel
I feel like some would like this only due the insane hangtime
You could walk up Emperor’s lift hill faster than the time it takes this ride to complete a full lap.
Those poor drive tires couldn’t even get a good grip on the train. And the cycle of actually moving was so short. All that effort wasn’t even worth it.
Did you think this was bad? I liked it a lot, it gave good Hangtime. I enjoyed in my opinion. I’m sad it’s gone.😢
it definitely wasn't amazing, but it was a decent ride concept; I think it had its issues but overall wouldn't call it bad. The restraints were probably the worst part about it- they were very bulky and uncomfortable. This same concept with a lap bar would've been a lot better

It was an honest experiment that failed. Maybe in the future we'll see a better rendition.
Yeah, always look on the bright side... I mean, Son of Beast had a loop, and that didn't stop more fleshed out rides like Outlaw Run or the Jungle Trailblazer clones from existing...
If skyline ever sells a version of this with their new lap bar only ride vehicles I think it would be a lot more comfortable!

Hot take: Skywarps aren't roller coasters and any sort of ride that has to be pulled along the entirety of its track isn't a roller coaster either. Yes, even powered coasters.
The family coasters offered by Skyline look like a lot of fun though.

I know this is hindsight bias, but why on earth did anyone ever think this would be fun?
I know a small minority liked this ride and a large majority hated it. I just thought it was an awkward and unsuccessful ride, with one tiny moment of airtime if you’re in the right seat. Not particularly sad to see it go.
Everyone I ever rode it with came off smiling.
That's the same for most bad coasters... My dad still says Son of Beast was the best coaster of all time... and he's been on STEEL VENGEANCE.
Now that’s quite a minority! 😂. But yes, there’s always someone who likes any coaster.

What a very interesting ride ever since I've known it. Not necessarily a good one though.
I know it is controversial to some, but is it really a rollercoaster or not? My personal take is, no. There is no build up of potential energy; when the tires pushing it stop, Tidal Twister stops.

It’s not a bad concept- there’s absolutely a market for attractions like this. think about all the FEC’s that don’t have a lot of space to work with who are just looking for a small attraction to add- it definitely would work. With this being the prototype for this layout it’s not too surprising that issues came up.
