As a season 1 Abe apologist, there were some moments in this season that really HURT
u not shipping joanfk is so real! the few moments they had in season 1 were good but I think the fans really wanted them to be together which led to both characters derailments (mostly Joan)
I wanted JFK and Joan to date but I thought that if it were to happen, it would be after some episodes, like explore their dynamics, let them have dates and talk
But they basically were unfrozen and then immediately started dating, I expected more of the relationship because their dynamic was very nice to me in season 1
would’ve had no problem if they did this but they were doomed from the start because of them getting together so quickly !
My guess around the gandhi thing is Candide either used the memory eraser *after* episode one. Or Abe is the only one to remember because of his special friendship locket he always has with him
omg you’re right it could’ve been the locket that helped him remember cause they were showed a slide show at the end to help regain their memories
I used to be such an Abe hater until this season like I actually feel bad for him. 😭

i really thought candid said “i had a dream i gave birth to mr beast’s baby” in the truth serum scene but she actually said “mr.b” and i’m disappointed honestly
I think it would be funny as hell if Gandhi comes back in season 4 episode 1 and everyone treats him like he’s been there for the past 2 seasons and they act like how they did to Ponce in season 1 lmao

Im glad a lot of people think harriet and Confucius are cute, they seem to be a background or throwaway couple but i thought they were great! Harriets anxious manic nature paired with Confucius' more calmer carefree attitude was a good contrast
Honestly I loved episode 5 bc of the musical elements (twister the game the musical is just so funny to me) but god the character slaughter that happened was so hellish 😭😭
EXACTLY the plot had potential to be so good! the twister thing was hilarious the song was amazing, it was just the conflict with the characters that had me baffled 😭
abe and topher apologist here and episode eight made me MAD. LIKE ANGRY. I WANTED TO GRAB THE PEOPLE WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA AND SHAKE THEM UNTIL THEIR BRAINS ARE MUSH
in season 3 Joan and Abe are gonna get together and in season 4 gahndi is gonna come in and ruin their relationship somehow. Like maybe give Abe bad relationship advice or something. I’m calling it
100% they are getting together next season whether we like it or not & i do think gandhi could be used as a plot device i plan to make a video next month compiling a couple of theories
I appreciate the criticism because it was well thought out and I can tell you have a lot of love for this show! That said, I personally really enjoyed this season overall! The last four episodes, especially the Mr. B backstory episode, were very good. I loved the songs from the musical episode and also loved the variations on the theme song. The returning characters were definitely different this season, but I never expected them to stay exactly the same as the first season. I still don’t really care for Abe, though he was more sympathetic this season for sure. Joan I think suffered more from some pacing issues than complete derailment - she moved through many emotional arcs very quickly. Cleo was basically non-existent in the first few episodes, but she was much better once she got with Frida. Their buildup could’ve been a bit more shown besides the moment in the intro (I noticed that too haha). JFK was mostly good this season. Still funny. Interacted with both old and new characters. And while yes cheating on Joan by kissing Harriet wasn’t amazing, them fessing up to Joan at least gave her information and context to process it. Abe not telling her broke her trust more because they had specifically just made a blood pact to not keep secrets.
Of the new characters I like Harriet and Frida. Confucius and Topher were underused.
Also definitely agree there was so much blood this season, and for why?
I’m excited for season 3 when it eventually comes out!

I just figured Abe being the only one to remember Gandhi is because they were best friends since they were babies. Idk how Gandhi’s foster parents dont remember him tho, that’s kinda sad

I think the show purposely made joanFK not work because of the fact that if they made JoanFK too perfect, then the end result, which is pretty obvious, of Abe and Joan ending up together would be underwhelming. The truth is that these two actually have great chemistry and in season one they had even been hinting at Jack having a crush on Joan throughout the entire show. I don’t know if everyone caught this while watching season two, but in the episode where Mr. B is explaining his backstory, Joan admits to using JFK to get over Abe. This is honestly so horrible because it not only means that the entire time Joan was with JFK she was basically manipulating him but it also makes her ending up with Abe less desirable because of the fact that she is so obviously confused and clearly isn’t ready to be in ANY kind of relationship.

I totally loved this season, I thought it was amazing, but I think that was probably because I’m not at all attached to the first season, I just thought every moment was a lot of fun, and I thought episodes 5 and 6 were amazing which is super weird.
honestly that’s pretty fair, if i wasn’t as attached to this show/it’s characters & watched it casually i’d probably feel the same way

I agree with majority of the takes, this season was very underwhelming and clearly isn’t the same show but the closest thing too it is episode 3. Overall still have high-ish hopes for season 3 but who knows. Good vid.

im so glad im not the only one that ADORED episode 9,. like, seriously, that conversation between mr. b and scudworth at the end got me so hard, especially because they've both been my favorite characters since season 1.
i think this season was very much a mixed bag, but im hoping that the next season will be a little bit funnier at least? like, theres just something about season 1's humor that season 2 hasn't quite been able to capture. despite how many times some episodes made me roll my eyes into the back of my skull, i have a bit of faith that the show can find its footing again and at least match the energy that made season 1 so special

Just a theory I have about Gandhi but I think maybe for season 4 they could just say he was unfrozen but something stupid happened and he didn’t come back until season 4 like maybe he got sent to an asylum for (insert more dumb stories) and Topher meets him and gets him to come to clone high (Definitely not just hoping that bc Topher and Gandhi are my fav characters) but either way I think maybe he was unfrozen but just disappeared 💀

I feel like I’m alone with this opinion, but I honestly enjoyed the whole season and I think episode 7 was one of my least favorite. The JFK plot with him being smart just wasn’t interesting to me. I’ve never been a fan of the whole idea of making a dumb character smart for an episode. Also Abe crying for most of the episode was hard to watch and I didn’t like how the conflict between him and Joan just kind of ended with him apologizing, but still thinking he didn’t do anything wrong. The other plot lines were really good though.
it’s the other plot-lines carrying it for me entirely because i agree ! & the fact frida & cleo thought he should apologize too… you cannot be serious 😭
I feel like the perfect way to have gone about gandhi was "surprise he's in the first episode of the season! Aaaaaand he specifically is cancelled and never referenced again as everyone shuns him. Have him in background shots always alone and you have a joke about how the show got cancelled, you address a missing character in a full way, and you set up that season 4 arc as he tries to make a social comeback
Abe not understanding social norms and making his situation worse in the first episode is a LITTLE too relatable for me, as someone with autism.

This season low-key sucked. I _really_ want to like it but there's no denying that there were a lot of missed opportunities, derailed characters, and bad episodes. I was especially disappointed with how "Let's Try This Again" and "Saved by the Knoll" played out. The writers really let their hatred for Abe overtake their good writing. Also, did these writers forget that Abe and Cleo used to be a couple last season, like ... where did that go!?!?!?
