Beautiful weather, amazing scenery and incredible ruins! I can’t believe how few people there are up. If that was in Australia every man and his dog would be up there. I’d love to see it some day. Great video too guys. Cheers.

Thank you so much for the great video. What a beautiful trip, and as always, the funny banter between the both of you is so refreshing and genuine. Please keep the videos coming. 👍👍
Fantastic video we went up one of those single track roads in 2006 in Italy in My Disco 2 with 4 children and my wife Kathy after the first 30 minutes she got out with the 3 Girls and Oscar my son and I rode in the car all the way up and down!!!! She would not go in the car, to be honest I was a bit scared but we made it. Just done 3000 miles around southern France and Beautiful Northern Spanish coast in Disco 3 with a freshly re built auto box. She ran like a dream and averaged 32.8mpg. Love your content so inspiring and yes Christian those Forts should be restored and maintained for future generations. So sad they are in such a state.
This road is really literally breathtaking. One mistake and you will come crashing down. But the adrenaline rush is really worth it. Great driving Christian! Drive safe
Spectacular, many thanks you two, wonderful footage, as most people on the planet will never ever get to see it in person, you are much appreciated by me at least, and I am so with you Christian on the subject of preservation of history, the good and the bad should be preserved so people can learn both, IMHO maybe if that happened people would be more tolerant of the mistakes of others. Shame that history is so disrespected there in France.
Looks like a great adventure! Some of those high gravel roads looked challenging. I was just eating a piece of toast with peanut butter when the topic of the French and toilets came up... 🤢
Wow - what a great video - hope you both had a fantastic time (it seemed like you did). Vera - I was also saying "oh my god" as you drove round those very narrow twisty tracks that had a sheer cliff to one side... Hope the LR3 was ok and you got home easily (no breakdowns).
Thanks for sharing 😁. We drove those roads for the first time in July/August after seeing your videos from 2020 and 2021. Great to see you still heading up there. As you say the Wow factor is massive. Its such an amazing landscape. We're heading back again next year. Hope to bump into you up in those hills one day. 👍
Yes, you have different temperatures to deal with. Here in Europe, nobody has a cracking dashboard, like you guys. But my Freelander hat a badly sagging head lining. We made a video of course. 🙋♀️Vera
Wow some beautiful views what an adventure. Cant believe you just thought cant be bothered to wait I shall go through the red light, like vera would say "oh my god cant believe you" 😂😂 would love to have seen the faces of the people in line waiting and the people coming back the other way 😂😂😂. This certainly beats a boring laying on a beach holiday. Great to see your land rover roughing it out on those rugged roads, makes you appreciate these types of vehicles
All we wanted was to get on that 4x4 track. We did not expect it to be part of the road shut down. That is why we took the leap and went beyond the red light. 😅👍🙋♀️Vera
I thought i was watching a video from 2 years ago ! 😂 I suppose when you have seen one Fort you have seen them all . Great content and great driving Christian 👌
nice trip, amazing views, and lots of courage going there with a disco 3, my disco 3 sits for about a month with a dinamic module control fault...(fixed, go see the reply)
got the car fixed, it had corrosion(green) on the transfer case module(behind the battery), just some contact spray, a brush and some compressed air, if you find this comment maybe you guys should do a clip just to get the message out to the community thanks for all your great videos
Amazing seeing the construction of those forts. Cut stone & Quoins around the windows, just like you’d see in a town centre government building, at that altitude. Superb craftsmanship. Imagine being stationed there in winter 😬 Great work by Vera in guiding Christian. Super fitness. A really enjoyable video 👍👍
Absolutely, brilliant videos guys. I especially like that the French woman believed that you broke down lols, I bet that the French car in front of you got fined double
20:28 I can assume, that Christian used disguise and at 21:55 ))) Christian more Russian then German then I expected) After this video I want this car in my possess just more Nice vacation)
That was great although I must say my heart was in my mouth most of the time with the narrow passes (especially when the footage is sped up). Stunning and peaceful scenery though. Got to love the mountains!
Entertaining as usual and a lot of good humour. Handling the big disco on the dangerous narrow mountain passes like a pro with an eager spotter to handle the most demanding obstacles. I wouldn't dare to ask my wife to run forward in a rain storm. 😉 You have a compressor under the hood just to pump tires? Wouldn't that be possible to do it with the suspension compressor? You don't need a lot of air to do that and if im right the air reservoar has 17 bar of pressure to run the suspension. A conection for an external tube would probably be possible. Keep up with the good work on the disco's and other entertaining stuff for us. I really like to watch!👍💪
Thank you Christian and Vera for taking us on a very picturesque journey! Really enjoyed the footage and the driving conditions. So many rules in France, I am glad the Gendarmes were kind to you when you got to the checkpoint. Keep up the great work, we look forward to your videos every week. Stay well and all the best.
Good job you two, nice trip, I liked the "we broke down" excuse. I use 10w 40 in the Land Rover I have 300.000 km on it, still doing great, still same engine, no major work on it. The Land Rover tech here said 10W40 is good for higher mileage cars. Cheers.
As is usual a totally enjoyable episode of LR Time, an amazing and pretty tricky landscape to traverse, you wouldn't want to go off the side of any of those trails in your LR or on your bicycle, it seems so steep and long way down. Bonus the Disco 3 didn't fail-to-proceed once in the whole trip. Vera, you are a "Wonder Woman" the amount of trail walking/running/riding that you do. How old would those fortifications be that you camped at?
What a brilliant video guys 👍 and Vera you are one fit Lady 🏃♀️Christian your heart must of been in your mouth on those roads!, excellent trip and luv the scenery, another great Sunday viewing. What is the noise from your Disco?
Brilliant video guys, makes all the maintenance worth while when you see such beautiful scenery and the ability to travel on such amazing roads... You were so lucky with the police, guess it's because you had a beefy off-road vehicle 😁
Just loved this exploration and as Vera would say 'Oh my God" at some of those narrow tracks. Well done you two. Great fun and wonderful that you shared it with other LR drivers. Good luck from Australia.
That looked like a very nice vacation. Thank you for taking us along with you. Those old forts are amazing, too bad no history on them - yes you are right about our US forts and historical sites.
The landscape is truly beautiful! The forts are something that should be preserved, and certainly not left to rack & ruin. Even a plaque and some other information should be compulsory for the benefit of all passer buys. You don't need a new compressor, you need a proper hose. The one you have restricts the airflow too much. It will also cause the compressor to fail prematurely due to the excessive heat caused by the restriction. Buy some compressor hose like you have on your home compressor and put the appropriate fittings on it and you will be surprised how much quicker the tyres inflate and how much cooler the compressor runs. I have done it and it works!
Absolutely stunning views from your trip. What a gorgeous part of the world you live in. Here in Ireland I could only compare it to the Burren in Co. Clare, but not as big!! Keep up the fabulous content.
Cheryl and I watched this yesterday morning. We were really looking forward to part 2 of your vacation and were not disappointed. The scenery was amazing, and you and Vera are genuinely entertaining. There is no way we could have done this. We're too afraid of heights. My palms were sweating just watching it. I love the illegal part of your drive. Reminds me of my next door neighbor Daryl who went into a convenience store, grabbed a coke, slapped fifty cents on the counter; and when the attendant said, "Hey, it's a buck sixty-nine", Daryl just said, "A coke is fifty cents" and walked out the door with it. You guys should get a dog, but they're more work than having a kid.

Cristian, I can't believe what you said about the French crapping down the side of the toilet, well that exact same question has occurred to me on a number of occasions when I've been to France, can any one out there explain this? I have a feeling that the French crouch over the side of the toilet rather than sit on the seat and this causes the trajectory of the turd to be off to one side, also of course all the muck the French eat causes their turds to be very soft and sticky (and stinky) so leave skid marks where ever they touch down. Thank you for these episodes and updates you 2 are something else, there is nothing else quite like you out there and it's well funny to watch the way you 2 interact with each other, tell Vera that I think she's a babe 😛😍 and I still live in hope of a BR Time episode heh heh, look after yourselves friends..
I also have a Suzuki Jimny for excursions into the Australian Alps and I was thinking they are more suitable for those roads. Very spectacular scenery.
Guys, I can only say this: I wish I was there with you, cause it's way better with 2 vehicles instead of one. If you ever come to Greece, we would be more than happy to guide you up the mountain roads.
@LR Time Loved the trip! I'm too poor to tour Europe myself but vids like this make it nice to see! And you're not wrong, the American "historic sites" are WAY too overdone, but, they do generate decent money for the State & Federal Parks that otherwise get $0 for maintenance & such. I live in Texas and even the Alamo makes me a little sick. It's not even the real Alamo! It's one of those "what-if projects" done back in the 60's. But it makes a fortune in money annually. Who knows where the Alamo money goes

Vera - such a champion for being a spotter on those switchbacks 😁
Great video. Love seeing the LR3 being actually used to explore, not just go round a track. Keep them coming. And yes, I did enjoy the video 😁
Christian and Vera.
Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
This is such an absolutely AWESOME route you guys!
And just Loving the German "Toyota driver" sense of humour 😅😅😅👌

💪👍 you are doing something right. 🙋♀️Vera
How do you suggest that's done?
Vera, your level of fitness is inspirational!
I would love to do this in my Discovery but am not brave enough to drive on those thin mountain passes!
Incredible scenery and all those very tight turns. Well done to the LR3 and yourselves sharing your adventure with us.
That looks like tremendous fun - and a Land Rover being used for its intended purpose! I can see why you do it 🙂
This road is really literally breathtaking. One mistake and you will come crashing down. But the adrenaline rush is really worth it. Great driving Christian! Drive safe

Wow, what beautiful views. The Disco doing what it was designed to do.
I love the western alps for the views and the trails. Best on a dirt bike
Amazing adventure. I was squirming in my seat at times watching this video. Nothing like that in Australia.
Try Billy Goats Track?
Looks like a great adventure! Some of those high gravel roads looked challenging.
I was just eating a piece of toast with peanut butter when the topic of the French and toilets came up... 🤢

That was your best episode yet!! Fantastic, scenery, offloading, exploring..perfect👍👏

Fantastic adventure! Scenery, history, and even some suspense!!!
So enjoyable and such beautiful views
Amazing scenery
Magnificent vistas! I envy you for this trip. I'm happy you enjoyed it.
Some scary passes you did with a sheer drops, OMG.
In the US we build parks for our old buildings but lie about when they were built and what they were used for. :p
You guys are so brave. I don't think I could drive that.

Fantastic. Loving the video. So nice to see the d3 being used as nature intented. 😅 Absolutely breath taking views as well. Thank you both.
Good Sunday morning going to enjoy your video 👍👍👍😊😊😊😊☺️☺️☺️
Great video! I noticed the cabin head lining material in your D3 is not sagging and falling down. It’s a normal problem in Australia after some years.

Vera is the mountain G.O.A.T! I think I heard a oh dear god oh my god at 4:44! Love it!!
Absolutely wonderful video, thank you. Some heart-stopping points though, when the wheels got so close to the edge with a sheer drop. 😱

Breathtaking views. Your English is wonderful, especially your American expressions. 😀
Wow that was amazing.
My father-in-law had the same reaction when I took him up the Tatra mountains. He was hanging on for dear life 😂😂😂

Thank you for an interesting ride in beautiful country.
I take it you aired down on those gravel roads? Makes for a smoother ride.
Yes, always 👍🙋♀️Vera
Amazing views! The dirt road in the beginning got my heart pumping. 😅 Will have to go there before it closes down. 😊
On the French side, you don't have to worry. But the Italien side is just a matter of time, at least for the busy July/August months. 👍🙋♀️Vera
@@Vera_and_Christian Good to know! Thank you. 👍😀

Very well explained theory about the French and their turds, I think you're on to something there 😂😂✅.
I was referring to the toilet bowls in France. Not to the French. I hope. Otherwise I will cut this section out of the video 😬. Christian
@@Vera_and_Christian oh, a "missinterpretation" then!
I also have a Suzuki Jimny for excursions into the Australian Alps and I was thinking they are more suitable for those roads. Very spectacular scenery.
