Thank you for going round burnham on sea my family's been going to burnham on sea for a few years and stay at haven Holiday park it's near the sea front and shop as my great grandson has a metallic disorder and has to be near a hospital in case his amnona level get to high but once again thank you its made my grandson day he loves burnham on sea
Great walking tour of Burnham on Sea video, I agree, it's great to see these and hopefully they'll become an historic record over time, as you say, it would be great if we could look back 50 or so years and compare the places and see how they have changed over time along with the people and the social side of life. Keep up the great walks videos, looking forward to seeing your backlog of tours 😊 particularly down here in the South West 😉
Just in time for more of Somerset with Burnham-on-Sea another great town with nice markets and a really good place to walk around this another awesome walk and tour of this nice seaside town thanks until next time.🇬🇧🤠🇬🇧
Im a Scottish person living in Highbridge and Burnham. It's a bit shabby compared to pre pandemic and Brexit as no EU tourist funding now but the people are nice and the town does its best with what it has. Run by volunteers mostly. Our shops and restaurants are staples for the locals. The beaches and parks are maintained by volunteers mostly so you know the town is loved.
We stayed here for a week at the Haven site in October 2022. We quickly realised that there wasn’t much to do in the town itself but a 30 minute walk gets you to Highbridge station which we used to visit Weston, Taunton and Exeter. We drove to Minehead as well from here so it can be used as a base to visit other areas. 5th worst? Not for me,I like to make my own mind up on places and like you don’t pay attention to surveys. The couple of times that we walked round the town it had everything you need and the beach was nice, just not in October 😂
I used to live here but I now live back in Glastonbury town. Sadly it is a 3hr return bus journey from Glastonbury town to Burnham On Sea you get the 375 from Glastonbury to Bridgwater then the 21 from Bridgwater to Burnham On Sea. I wish they would make the 67 bus a full time bus route from Burnham On Sea to Glastonbury town. I also wish they would make a greenway between Glastonbury town the Avalon Marshes and Burnham On Sea that would be nice walk or bike ride. I used drink in Reeds Arms and Cafe Aroma. Thank you for a wonderful video.
I lived in Burnham for 45 years but moved far away 5 years ago. Apart from the sea wall not much has changed over the past 40 years, yes most of the shops have changed ownership over that time as you can imagine but maybe %10 still sell the same products as they did in the 1970's.
Hi. love the videos. just watching Burnham. I spent many happy hours here just walking round and taking photos. Theres nothing wrong with Burnham, some people can be a bit sniffy.
I used to have relatives living in Burnham in the 50s and 60s. I’ve been there several times. It can get very windy and cold. It’s not changed much. OK for a day trip. But not much to do there for a holiday.
We love Burnham: the beach stretches miles, all the way to Brean Down. It has the beautiful and famous 9 legged lighthouse, the wonky church tower in beautiful gardens, a riverside walk that leads to Apex Park, brilliant for wildlife and tranquility. And if you want traditional seaside entertainment you can get the bus to Brean or even Weston Super Mare. Bird watchers can travel to nearby Stewart Marshes, you may even see the last of the mud horse fishermen at work. The sunsets are amazing. It may not have the most beautiful seafront and the sea is a long way out but the town has a lot to offer. And I say that as someone who fell foul of the mud and got well and truly stuck, with 2 grandchildren!!! Visit and appreciate the natural beauty, it will be worth it.
the great thing about youtube is you can visit a place, without being there..... i mean.... lets be honest...... the place is dead...... nothing much there.... buy a bucket and spade and build some sand-castles on the beach....... the place needs to build a large nature -garden leading on to the beach and a free entry pleasure beach...... yes... that would give it more life...... places like this and blackpool dont have the coast/countryside mix.....like cornwall.... so they should build forest areas near the beach..... with loads of seating and food huts....... and like i said... a pleasure beach like the one in blackpool....but free entry.....that would help the place.

I used to live in highbridge and work in Turnham on sea town centre and I miss the place I loved it there it was a fantastic place
Burnham is perfectly fine. There’s a large Haven holiday park which is always full so someone must like it, and if you don’t like it don’t go there.
true .

Hello from Rotherham South Yorkshire. Where going down for a holiday in September can’t believe it’s 5th worst place I’ve been to a lot worse
Went to Burnham last year for the day fantastic little place
I wouldn't call it 'grim'. A little bit of tlc would help but it's what it is. Another no thrills fun time by the sea ⛵. Lovely big, open beach ⛱️.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Lovely to see my brother Roger❤️❤️
Ah did I catch him on camera?
Decent shopping centre and it all looks very clean
We used to go a lot in the 80s as my wife's grandmother lived there

It looks really nice and clear I would go there for a holiday ❤
Just read that it’s not recommended to swim in the sea here due to pollution and that you should use Brean for swimming instead 😢
