Lace up your boots and embark on the challenging yet rewarding 3-mile cliff-top walk around the gorge's rim. Immerse yourself in the fresh air, soak up the panoramic views, and keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife that calls this ecosystem home. If you're short on time, head to Pulpit Rock lookout point for a stunning vista before returning down the ladder.
Unravel the mysteries of the past at the Museum of Prehistory. Explore archaeological finds unearthed in the Cheddar area and delve into the captivating story of how our ancestors lived thousands of years ago. The museum's fascinating artifacts and exhibits bring the prehistoric era to life.
After your adventures in the gorge, explore the charming village of Cheddar. Sample the world-famous cheese directly from its source at a local cheesemaker. Browse unique shops and indulge in a well-deserved meal at a cozy pub or restaurant.

Wow! Thanks Neil. I really enjoyed your coverage of the beautiful Cheddar Gorge. Especially as you got deeper into the gorge
it became more and more enjoyable for me. Green is my favourite colour in all its hues, and the way the greenery enhanced
those majestic rocky outcrops was stunning. Also, the chatter of the birds complimented the ideal surroundings. Marvelous!
GOOD video. a zomerset lad is me.🙂 Come in the winter time. No one about except rock climbers.
Sounds like a plan!
I love Somerset - the band October Drift are from there!
I went to Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole on a coach trip many years ago so it's been lovely to see this. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much!
Long time since we were last there, truly spectacular scenery, thanks Neil. 👍

🇬🇧🎇🎆🎇🇬🇧
Very unique and beautiful place. Thanks for taking us there.
Thank you too
I’ve been to Cheddar many many times. It’s 30 miles away from me. It is best to start walking from the top of the gorge and not start at the bottom. It would save one’s legs. I’ve been in the caves, up Jacob’s ladder and the museum. Nice video.
I walk both ways as even if I start at the top and walk down I’d still have to walk back up to my car 🤣
Great video beautiful and so many memories of childhood holidays
WOW WHAT A FANTASTIC PLACE, THANK YOU FOR TAKING US THERE.
Thank you 🙏
A vary good video of CHEDDAR GORGE👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Neil, very nice enjoyable walk up to the beginnings of the Cheddar Gorge, but I might be a little biased as I live just 10mins away between Cheddar and Wells on the side of the Mendips, so get to go here quite regularly. You should have carried on further to then see the more majestic parts of the gorge. At almost 400ft deep and about three miles long, Cheddar Gorge is England’s largest gorge, with its weathered crags, sheer cliff faces, it's a dramatic natural sight to take in along the way (as someone suggested, park at the top and walk down the gorge, but of course you'll have to get back to the top). They are upgrading the walking routes and say it should be finished by summer 2025 which now has good pathways.
Just subscribed to your channel, so will now take a look at what other delights you've filmed, I just watched the Lands end video, very nice, keep up the great work and thankyou for sharing 😊

I used to go caving back in the early 80s in cheddar gorge .
It has become so commercial now , beyond what it was .
I drove through there a couple of summers ago , and thought its ruined , too many tourists , and tacky shops for me . It was heaving .People all over the road .
I love the sign ☢️ for falling rocks....NO 😳. Never been there. You picked a quiet 🤫 day. Yeah looks alright. Happy you weren't knocked down 🚗 👍
