- Being from Michigan, we are used to the cold and snow. Can't say we love winter, but we LOVE the winter sports! This weekend we head to Mount Ruapehu to play in the snow and go skiing for the very first time with the kids! We also celebrate our little guy's birthday!

I think the hard part about Michigan winters is your don't always get he beautiful snow. Most of the time it's just cold, cloudy, and dreary... But when you do get the snow, it's so much fun to play in!☃️⛷️. By the way, we have a new baby! As you can imagine life is a bit crazy now. She is 5 weeks. We need to try to post some photos in Instagram 😊. Hope you guys are doing well!

I wish I could go up the mountain this year. I typically go during the spring school holidays but cause my first school exam is on the first day back it kinda means my school holiday is just studying and no skiing 😞
Oh man. The timing of the exam is a bummer. Did COVID affect your exam schedule?
Always An Adventure With Kids My first exams are the Cambridge exams which start at the start of term 4 and those exams don’t get moved as we have to do it at the same time as the people sitting it in the pacific islands. Other than my Cambridge exams, the NCEA exams that most students in NZ do got moved back slightly from the original date which gives us an extra week of study/learning

Looked super fun! Would love to take our kids skiing, ⛷ definitely have to put them in ski school. Was ski school expensive? Growing up we went skiing almost every year. Love skiing! Your kids did awesome!👏😁❤️
Ski school actually wasn't too bad because it came as a package with equipment, lift pass, and lessons. It wasn't too much more than if we just rented the equipment and purchased the lift pass. Skiing was a splurge, though. I think that's why we cross country skied back in the US. It was more affordable.

Good question. Yes they do. You can also hire gear in Auckland and take it with you.
