- Our first time skiing at Whakapapa, which may very well be the finest ski field in the north island! The long queues and wait times are the only drawbacks.
Please show grace - I am only a beginner skier! We only managed 6 runs because it was packed.
Enjoyed the scenic drive from base to summit, and the snow conditions were second to none. There was a massive dump just the day before which closed the ski field while grooming and maintenance work continued. Apparently some of the best snow we've seen in years!
Big thanks to the team at Whakapapa for giving us some epic groomed trails!

Great Video! We are going to be there in a few days for the first time so really grateful for a familiarization of the slopes. I could even follow what you two did on the trail map. I think we'll end up doing exactly the same - staying on the upper Turtle run.

@@thecorporatebackpacker we had a great time. We did the delta chair a few times like what you did from the look of things, but did not feel ready to do the full run down. Kudos to you skiing all the way down.
