Motown was the greatest, and the Four Tops were a great group. Levi Stubbs was an awesome lead singer, and thankfully he stayed with the Four Tops (He said there were “Four Tops, not Three Tops!”
Didn't know he created one of my favorite songs didn't even know about the group I'm born in 2000 fam imagine my heart finding out another beautiful musical group as gone to glory
RIP 😭 you went out like a legend billions of guys like me would kill to be you you had moves plus your in the Four Tops and your super cool 😎 man that must've been awesome 👍😎 cheers up there Mr. Duke 🥃🙏
They made Levi Stubbs sing at the top of his vocal range so it gave a pleading sound. It's been played to death, but still gives comfort after all these years.
My Dad bought that song for me, and I fell in love with that voice and the harmonies, once I saw the group on tv., I fell in love with Levi and the group. They are a testament in the industry of commitment to the craft and one another. The industry could not break them apart by offering solo careers, the mindset was: one-for-all and all-for-one. What a testament of integrity and loyalty.
The Motown era was great. My 7th Grade Music Teacher used to line up all of the classic Motown LPs along the classroom wall. The Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, etc. I feel blessed to have had those groups as part of my teenage years. Thanks for the video!
You couldn't escape the wonderfulness of "I Can't Help Myself" in the Summer of 1965. My choice for Song of the Year - in a very tough field of fantastic Rock 'n' Roll songs.
Sugarpie honeybunch You know that I love you I can't help myself I love you and nobody else In and out my life You come and you go Leaving just your picture behind And I kissed it a thousand times … When you snap your fingers Or wink your eye I come a running to you I'm tied to you, baby And there's nothing I can do Ooh, sugar … Sugarpie honeybunch I'm weaker than a man should be I can't help myself I'm a fool in love you see Wanna tell you I don't love you Tell you that we're through And I've tried But everytime I see your face I get up all choked up inside … When I call your name, girl It starts the flame burning in my heart Tearin' it all apart No matter how I try My love I cannot hide … Sugarpie honeybunch You now that I'm weak for you I can't help myself I love you and nobody else … Sugarpie honeybunch I'll do anything you ask me to I can't help myself I want you and nobody else … Sugarpie honeybunch You know that I love you I can't help myself
Levi Stubbs was a great vocalist and frontman. Holland/Dozier/Holland were the best production team at Motown. What an incredible legacy of classic songs they left us.
I was 11 when this was out . Most of the magical music makers that i grew up listening to have passed on , but they will be playing these songs a hundred years from now . I'm now 70 and still love all the music from this era , RIP music makers
The third week of 1965 I beat the draft by signing up for 4 years. That firt week of inprocessing I must have heard "I Can't Help Myself" 30 times. After that week all the music I heard was Revely and Retreat. Sorta missed that song for a couple of months

Yah, pay area west coaster here. Ten, this band others, Elvis really set a stage. We'd heard enough history get together brothers and sisters. Truly the time the war a lot of us experienced an epephany. Living In The Spirit, I'd say.

Sugarpie honeybunch
You know that I love you
I can't help myself
I love you and nobody else
In and out my life
You come and you go
Leaving just your picture behind
And I kissed it a thousand times
… When you snap your fingers
Or wink your eye
I come a running to you
I'm tied to you, baby
And there's nothing I can do
Ooh, sugar
… Sugarpie honeybunch
I'm weaker than a man should be
I can't help myself
I'm a fool in love you see
Wanna tell you I don't love you
Tell you that we're through
And I've tried
But everytime I see your face
I get up all choked up inside
… When I call your name, girl
It starts the flame burning in my heart
Tearin' it all apart
No matter how I try
My love I cannot hide
… Sugarpie honeybunch
You now that I'm weak for you
I can't help myself
I love you and nobody else
… Sugarpie honeybunch
I'll do anything you ask me to
I can't help myself
I want you and nobody else
… Sugarpie honeybunch
You know that I love you
I can't help myself
No vulgarity fancy lights laser sets just talent
Rest in peace
to the
departed members
All of them now
