I never said it wasn't. I was just comparing the awfulness of the stepcharts. Max 300 X-Special looks like they didn't know what to do to make it harder than the original and then they've thrown a bunch of random shit in it. In that regard TLoM X-Special is quite decent
Crossovers at this high of a BPM asks alot more from the player than the OG chart. Also higher voltage and stream play a factor into the rating. It's a lower level 17, but it's definitely a 17
They really fucked up all the new charts they did for older boss songs. They should’ve just taken the same approach as Fascination Maxx or PSM and just made a harder version of expert chart

I thought the same exact thing about this chart until I played it. There are some tricky crossovers thrown in there. I guess it comes down to what your good at.

Groove Radar plays a factor on ratings. Iirc Legend of Max X Special has a lot of Voltage and Stream, hence why the 17 rating
older songs tend to be a little shorter than new ones and as a result tend to have fewer steps
