The 99% part of me totally agrees with her about the respect part and not wanting love But that 1% makes me wanna think how nice it would be if she had ended up with the French guy... I could care less about the husband but her children..
@@pralhadchaudhari6922 that's what I'm saying too.. she has children so she obviously can't leave.. but if she had no children's and just the husband than I'd have been really glad if she had ended up with french guy
@Pralhad Chaudhari I would argue leaving her husband would be better for her children. They will at least realise her value not just as a wife and a mother, but also as a person, who has some self-respect and can think for herself as well as her children.
Men are born to make fun of women. I don't understand why the "marriage jokes" or "couple jokes" or "wife and husband jokes" are always about making of woman, or how dominating she can . Although in reality it's completely opposite.
Radha I dont need love. I need respect. Hats off to her. People need to understand that love is commitment. She loved her husband and her family so much she ignored their insults and lack of respect for her. She knew she already had love from her family. Her husband, her children. They loved her, but treated her carelessly. Making rude remarks because they thought her foolish and naive. On screen, throwing away her life and family for love, would probably be nice. But real life doesnt work that way. Real life is sacrificing a better future because you dont want to ruin what you have now.
It's bullshit. That's not love. That's what she learnt in her culture as a woman. That you have to tolerate disrespect and just give birth to kids because that's what marriage is about. If it werent an indian film, the character would have divorced the guy or tell him how disrespectful he is. Since the audience is indian, they gotta show 'women bear everything and stay' kind of things
indian moms are the best.. they way they devote their time with so much love and care, affection for their children is unlike any other thing to do ❤❤😭🥰 we must treasure all mothers and treat them the best way we can..
Not all women should relate to this film , then why we are even in 21st century if still women are not independent & capable enough to fight their own battles ! Everyone is given a strength & caliber irrespective of gender & they have to be brave to use it , respect is a birthright .
Have lost count of how many times I have watched this since morning. Every time I watched it, I got goosebumps. I hope this gets Rani a National award. Can already feel the depth of her performance through this trailer.
I understand what she went through after being ridiculed by her husband and daughter for not being unable to speak English very well, she had to prove to her family she'll improve and get the respect 🙌 she rightfully deserves. That, and to put her judgemental family in their place.
@@renurenuka9064 She shouldn't have to "prove" herself in the first place! She does everything for that family. Born to make ladoos😂how sarcastic was that... Oh these men🤦♀️ well said mujhe pyaar ke jaroorat nahi.. Bas thodi si izaat ki... Which no one understands what to do
But you can't love someone without respecting them. If you can then it's not love but the habit of staying with that person. Indian women confuse the habit with love. Most Indian men and in-laws don't love or respect their wives; they are just habituated to their needs getting taken care of by her. They will miss you when you are not there because things don't run smoothly anymore; so they will replace you with someone else. That's why Indian mothers-in-law take pride in training their daughters-in-law according to their family requirements! Basically,, they want an unpaid maid to fulfil everyone's wishes. Most Indian men are brought up poorly by their parents to become man child whom the mother no longer cater to after an age so she trains his wife to do so. When a man starts complaining that household things are not being done as it was done by his mother; that's a red flag that your husband is a man-child who doesn't want to change his habits and wants you to play the dual role of a mother and wife! These types of men can not accept strong women; they suffer from small penis syndrome! Never marry a Man-child they will destroy your individuality.
This and Queen are movies that talk about how to build your self respect. Rest everything and everyone is a reflection of how you treat yourself! Thank you for so many likes peeps! 🍀
She must not tolerate this much disrespect from her husband. She deserve someone who knows her value more than she did. The only disappointing part of the movie.
5:30...her expressive eyes.... OMG..! It's the wish of most of the ladies who just work as housewives..! It's a 🎯 ... Pyaar ki bhook nahi sirf izzat chahiye...! Why all men can't understand such simple demand?
I like this film,as I enjoy watching it every day. The Shashi's charater is the symbol of many people especially women. I think learning English in this film stands for any fight in our lives, we should be as brave as Shashi to fight against any huge problem.❤❤❤❤
She wanted more, but never showed that she could be more. She took initiative, learned a language, showed the family that within in few weeks of training she can learn. Now everyone loves her (which they used to do before) and respect her too. Respect needs to be earned. And there is no such thing as unconditional love and respect
@Emmanuel Tolerating that kind of behaviour for her kids will be even more detrimental for the kids, as they will think it is right to treat their spouse/mother like that. They literally humiliate her just because she can’t speak English. They do not see how much she does for their family. This is clearly evident in the way the daughter treats her mother. They will never know the value of the sacrifices or the work she’s done for her family if she doesn’t change her ways. Shashi cries relentlessly because she’s always hurt by her husband’s toxic behaviour, and never takes a stand for herself. The husband has no respect for her. She literally has to take English classes to learn English to prove her worth. Can you imagine being in such a situation? She’s forgotten her value as a person. So, instead of getting treated like trash, it’s always better to take a stand for yourself, and also for your children, by being with a man who knows how to cherish a woman.
I think what she needed more is communication between her husband, her kids and her. They were never corrected so what can you expect? They are not even aware then what can you expect? If she has a conversation between her and her husband about respect and how she is feeling and this disrespect continues then that’s a different story. Standing up for yourself in a relationship where there is no communication about the problems is more effective than walking away from it, especially when Shashi was content with having a family and she loved her husband.
Did anyone notice the niece was holding the 2nd thali of laddoos when Shashi drops it and in the next scene she also drops it unprovoked. She could've easily kept that thali aside.
Thank you Sir, so much! Your voice is very pleasant! I was trying to concentrate for cleansing my aura since 6m but I'm not able to do so. I don't know why but something or other thing is continuously stucking me. Can you please guide me?
Education decides all. Mothers should make sure their girls are properly educated and have a job. Any problem they have..they know how to deal with it instead of asking their fathers, brothers or husbands.
How to end a movie... This movie is perfect example of that.... Such a simple scene of laddoo falling down then she making again then her speech....it was such a nice ending
I have learned many good things from her : even if I fail, I will continue to patiently continue, do not give up, even if I have to start from scratch 🙏❤️😇👍

As much as I agree with the comments saying that she should've divorced her husband, I can also see why she'd stay. Her children were problematic, so was her husband, but they understood at the end of the movie what she really needed. As she said it before, she didn't need love. She needed respect. And she got it at the end of the day. And even if she did fall for the french guy, there's no way she could leave her family of so many years behind. She has children.

Yes she got her respect back but wasn't that too late.... better if she goes for and with the french guy....With that her independence her love and happiness all would have been ❤. For the husband and kids...how much she mattered the whole film showed that.
Divorce would not have solved her problems. Her daughter thought of her exactly like her father(Shashi’s husband) what would she do? Leave her daughter too? She proved him wrong through her hard work.At the end he realized he was wrong. That’s what mattered.
