So my theory why there’s a lot more very explicit queer references-at least from Wille’s POV is because as an after effect of the video this whole new world was kind of cracked open to him. Also at the end I think he’s more having a bit of a panic attack than actually renouncing his title haha but I guess you will see. So happy to see you guys reaction. I’ve been waiting for yours the most! 💜 I really loved this season and I hope you do too
The panic attack is a catalyst for him telling his truths. He never wanted to be crown prince. But his mother just ignores his emotions, as usual.

Wille feels like he's in a cage right now. He can only see the bars, he can't see what he's done/is doing to Simon, and he's so alone. It's heartbreaking.

Your faces when Marcus sang karaoke, I can't stop laughing lmao! You're very entertaining to watch, thanks for the reaction! I think it's heartbreaking to see how distressed and anxious Wille is. The pressure of being the crown prince, Erik's death, losing Simon... it's all just crushing him down
Also you guys got one thing wrong - the problem isn't that wilhelm needs to come out to his parents/sweden's monarchy, its that he can't reveal it was him in the video because the royal family doesn't want an underage s*x tape of the crown prince floating on the internet, especially considering it was also with a boy. Everyone at wilhelm's school knows he likes simon and his mom does too - his problems stem from his responsibilities of being the face of sweden and his public image.
Having more minor queerness is a representation that once you realise you are queer you’re able to start to see the queerness around and you’re no longer alone.
I love your reactions! I feel like Josh is the angel on my shoulder, encouraging the calm and rational side of my thoughts and Alex is the devil, expressing all the emotions coursing through me while watching this show.

@@LanadelreysWife5 That was a misinterpratation of what he said. Edvin and Omar are both doing other projects on the side but they both just recently said in an interview that they would love to see Wille's revolutionary era in Season 3!
I think it's going to be announced shortly before Christmas and they are going to say "We got renewed for Season 3, hope you have a nice Christmas! Young Royals baby!" 😉

Yes this season not only about two people falling in love, this also talk more about mental health and edvin did really great job potraying that.

Simon thought wilhelm would tell the truth about being in the video and not leave him to deal with it on his own but at the end of s1, he broke simons trust and denied it while still trying to get back together. Sara kept telling simon he lets people walk over im (his dad, wilhelm, etc) so he has every right to want space from wilhelm. You'll see he tries to recreate his feeling for wilhelm with marcus but fails and that the realistic aspect of heartbreak , you try your best to find those same emotions you felt in another but it never feels right

This season is rooted in realism and the realistic things that happens when one goes through their first heartbreak - the writing is SO good. I related to both simon and wilhelm individually as they both navigate trying to see if they recreate the same emotions in another person.

YESSS! The time between you reaction to the first season and now has been nicely short, so I'm glad I didn't have to wait too long to see you guys again. I'm here for your back and forth, your "competing" thoughts on some of the scenes, and just appreciation for Edvin Ryding and Omar Rudberg who are excellent in this season. No spoilers, but I can see a lot of tense viewing, frustration, wondering, joy, and well ... no hints at the ending.

BTW, I think you're the first ones to talk about all the queer touches you've noticed in this first episode, especially when Rosh talks about his ex-partner. I love the way you each in your own way (sometimes different but equally important for me) look at the relationship between Simon and Wilhem in this first episode.

Firstly I agree with Ayub. Wilhem at the moment is toxic to Simon. Secondly I’m not fond of this rebound concept except if both parties agree that it just a temporary thing. If not then you’ll hurt the other person.

I just only now realised the parallels of Wille trying to apologise to Simon and August trying to apologise to Wille ... though August actually sees his mistake while Wille does not

I kinda disagree. He has apologised for making the statement but sometimes an apology isn’t enough. And I kind of see Wille’a perspective; he’s a 16 year old kid who just lost his brother and is under enormous amounts of pressure. My heart breaks for him. And for Simon. Their situation is sad.
What August did however was way worse than what Wille did. It was illegal and inexcusable.
Your discussions between scenes are just always top notch! I love hearing what you both agree and disagree on. You both have such a great dynamic and friendship and it’s always a joy watch and hear what you think.

Love this show so much I made sure that I had my channel back up in time to review it. The tone this season just keeps you stressed the entire time.
Josh is absolutely spot on. Obviously, I wasn't in a relationship with the Prince of Sweden or anything nearly that dramatic. But those relationships where you never work on your underlying problems but keep having these crazy reunions where you exhaustedly fall into each other's arms and a couple of days later it goes right back to drama... they break you.
If you have the strength to get off that ride, you should.
