@@avastrebe1907 neither of them have explained what happened in explicit detail, but based on this song’s lyrics & things she’s said on tiktok and insta, i think she felt controlled and limited by him and his career. she has loosely stated that she lost sight of herself and her artistic purpose while being with him, he was kind of the liam hemsworth to layla’s miley cyrus - he tried to tame her and rebrand her image, she archived all her posts that didn’t include him at one point, all her content HAD to include him and i know that wasn’t by choice… he seemed kinda mentally unstable at the time they split, so it’s looking like he was a bit of a narcissistic abuser. this is all alleged but it’s what i’ve gathered from lay’s own accounts. had nothing to do with his gender identity, lay is a huge supporter of the non-binary & trans community. she would have left him sooner if that were the case.
