He served a mission in England and the Czech Republic where he knocked on A LOT of doors. He didn't get married until after graduating from BYU, because his future wife went to the wrong school and he didn't meet her until he started graduate school at USU. He studied electrical and computer engineering and developed an unhealthy passion for microcontrollers. Quote: "they are more awesome than you can possibly imagine." His favorite food is pie. His favorite WWII airplane is the P-51D Mustang. His favorite animal is bacon.

Thank you so much for this! I loved this discussion. It added so much depth to my study of the Book of Mormon this week. It’s amazing to be starting to see these patterns and additional layers/meanings in scripture. Learning these things has deepened my testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon.

I'm glad you saw the correlation to Isaiah chapter 1. Isaiah is a stunner on this topic. Really surprising who God is talking to and about.

I confess this is my first time on your Channel, thank you for the wonderful efforts and guests, wow.
At this moment, I'm enjoying the Saints volumes and do see parallels with the early history of the church and what's being discussed here.
Of all the clarifications and parallels, what resonates the deepest with me is what was mentioned about an hour plus into the video where the term gospel and the parallel of priesthood meaning those that not only have the priesthood but the keys to direct its use is categorically connected. That is my understanding and testimony.
If that is the case, then the scriptures become a representative view of God at work with mankind through the auspices of the priesthood key holders.
I further propose that finding and following those priesthood key holders and adopting the standards that they are vouchsafed to offer would be conversion or lead there to.
A very big thank you and thumbs up for your Channel!

Based on so much of what has been stated in your video, The Book of Mormon has a significant, if not Monumental role to play in this Era

What I find interesting is in Jacob2 we are taught to care for each other, not put ourselves above others and have only one wife. The early Utah Mormons were suffering and starving, even some did starve to death, trying to live on weeds. All this going on and Brigham Young was building many mansions for himself and eating well and had many wives. He expected the people to work on the temples but did not pay them which kept them poor and hungry. To me he fulfilled the roll of King Noah in our day because he did everything that King Noah did. So my question is "how can he have been a prophet when he was doing the same things as King Noah"? This has been a real problem for me. I am only in to the video by 26 minutes. Thanks.

I also see a lot of similarities between the descriptions of king noah and in some of the historical depictions of Brigham Young

@@joannaburtonmusic So true. I need to get back to the video to see what they are going to say. Too many people miss the similarities because we are taught that he was such a humble man but when you dig into the real history, man he was a scary dude.

Hi Ice Cream Lady! Read what I wrote to Gary Arnell a few days ago on Michelle's channel. I feel like I'm getting the answer to it. Just like King Noah was called "King" for a reason. Brigham would be King Brigham. Have you noticed in the Book of Mormon it's hard to keep straight who was a king, who was a prophet, who were judges, and who were high priests (etc.?)? It seems some were only government (judges especially during the 400 or so years without the gospel...in the pattern through times of a prophet and when it ended. So, actually right now we could have a prophet or king depending on if they are following all of God's will and all the requirements to be a prophet. (Which I would say is being baptized with fire and the Holy Ghost and seeing Jesus Christ in Vision or in person). Follow the pattern after Samuel and read about Saul...weird he was a king. After Noah (Noah's ark) I don't quite follow what happened with his 3 sons but the priesthood was a fake (imitated) priesthood by Egyptian son, because it followed her matriarchal line instead of all patriarchal (read Abraham 2). I'm seeing more and more we as a people have been following a bit like the Egyptians with temple ceremony. If we read Acts 7 versus 40 or so on, to me Stephen is actually stoned to death for saying God's throne is in Heaven versus needing to have a house built here for him. When Solomon is mentioned, it says he built him a house...then read the next things that happened. It was like God getting angry and saying how hard hearted and stiff-necked those are that think he needs a house built here when he has built everything. Unless there are some serious JST things about those verses until the end of the chapter to me it saying this is an inquiry that we have built up. So, have they all been kings since Brigham? In 3 Nephi chapters 9 and 10 it is interesting how the people who died were the ones who didn't listen to the prophets...but think carefully as you read it. Who really were the ones who were prophets? To me it is all the people who were being lead righteously to prophesy against whatever evil they were doing that they were calling good, like some sacrifices in their temples? Who knows, but just read all these scriptures several times and pray. I am getting more and more convinced the church is in the wrong and do not talk of Christ, preach of Christ or live as Christ. On Sunday it was temple, temple temple. Anyway, go to God in humble prayer. The covenant with him is to have a broken heart and contrite spirit. We need to be humble followers teaching with humility to bring others to Christ being careful not to take others away from Christ. ❤@@icecreamladydriver1606

Yes, exactly what she's saying at 45 minutes or so....these "prophets" aren't the prophets we have now, but everyday saints who have become Abinadi's. These are the prophets in end time. It's like learning things for what they really are. Of course if you study Abinadi, he is full of the knowledge of God's word and law. He speaks for God. I believe there will be prophetesses too. We truth seekers will need to be courageous to stand up with these truths when our friends and family won't see it because they've been ignorant and stiff necked all along.

@@MommaCrissa I just went and read it but honestly this is all too much reading for me to digest. To me, what I see is Brigham lived like a king and built many mansions to himself while causing and watching the members suffer and starve. He was an evil man full of secret combinations. He was a Gadianton robber. That is all I can say. Thanks. PS I do search the scriptures.

We all need correcting and apparently God didn’t feel the “need to correct” Brigham Young. If God won’t allow His prophets to lead us astray then it sounds like those that hate BY have some serious questions to ask the Lord. I for one think BY has done more good for the kingdom than I ever have.

@@jaredmcsweeney4557 How can you be sure he DIDN'T feel the need to correct Brigham? Also, where in the scriptures does it say "God won't let the prophet lead us astray"? That was said once in relation to trying to bolster polygamy. It's not scriptural.
