I cannot underestimate how much the keyboard solo at 1:19:54 has been underspoken here. Pure insanity of a performance and one of the best soloes by Mr Mukaiya.
This is quite possibly the best live jazz performance… ever. It’s just 2 straight hours of my jaw being on the floor from the sheer talent these musicians carry on their shoulders with a smile and a nod.
2:36:57 You know it's time to go all out when Master Hirotaka Izumi unties his hair and does the headband windmill! He is so into it, love it! Lol As many times I have heard his music after I have discovered T-Square, I did not realize he had passed away until recently. Come to think of it, he was gone when I had just found him. I'm tearing up now... 😪 All I can say is you will be missed, but will forever live on from keys of your music. I can only aspire to be just like you on the piano, as you are forever a legend. ❤
Rest in peace, Hirotaka Izumi. He wasn't just an amazing pianist, he enjoyed it as well: 2:37:03. If there is anyone who I would aspire to become, it's this man. Playing the things he plays, with his eyes closed, it's like the music was his second language. I play the piano myself, if I ever become half as good as he was I will be proud of myself.

Humans react faster to sound that most stimuli, it explain a lot about how musicians can adapt and sync to a tempo. And it absolutely remove nothing on how techical this is, and it's pretty cool, the drummers do the same at some point.

R.I.P., Master Hirotaka Izumi. Thank you for all your great music. You expanded my vision and opened the door of J-Fusion for me. Your music will be always remebered.
One of the drummers quit about a year ago, but for the longest time, and many records, the band KGATLW also had 2 drummers. If you are into psychadellic rock and metal check them out.
I just knew about the departure of Izumi-san and i'm very sad...i discovered T square some months ago but in this fantastic concert i appreciated the absolute skill and class of Izumi-san and his joy while jumping on a Casiopea song. For me this means respect and frendship...RIP
These fucking guys played for 2 hours fucking 44 minutes with full professionalism and insurmountable energy straight! Along with the fucking greatest jazz fusion music on earth, that alone is fucking awesome on its own!
Google recommendation is giving me incredible stuff to listen to lately. I'm so glad I discovered these amazing Japanese bands, they really stepped Fusion up a notch.
Wow… It’s like the bass guitars are speaking to each other having a passionate conversation in the song Eccentric Games. I never realised until I started to play bass recently.
Cassiopeia blew my mind when i first stumbled upon them while just randomly cruising youtube about 10 years ago. been a huge fan ever since then... i just wish i had discovered them back in high school
When Rumi said: "It's the fire the vibrates the flute not the air. Who doesn't have the fire is dead" He was talking about 25:20. Sensei Hirotaka Izumi is no longer with us. But his fire will remain forever.
Superb! And funny at 30:03 when Itoh is supposed to start playing, and everyone in the band starts to look at him when he isn't. Keyzo reacting with humour, looking at Mitsuru. :)

I love when I find this 3 hours of magic between my chrome favourites.. always feels like the first time I hear it.. musician masters all of them.. Regards from Argentina
Here it is Friday May 16th, 2021. I was surfing looking for different music.....Boy oh Boy did I score big time with this video!! I've never heard such great fusion/Jazz played so well. The tightness of every player was/ is awesome. I love the music it's so upbeat. Thank you for this video!! Woong. And to the fine people of Japan my best from New York City...Be well and Be safe during these trying times of the pandemic. :>) Ted, the music lover.
T-Square and Casiopea are truly the pinnacle of the j-fusion movement. I relate best with T-Square myself, I hope to one day own most if not all of their records. Their output in the 90s was absolute perfection. I recommend the albums 'Lucky Summer Lady' (1978), 'Wave' (1989), 'Natural' (1990), 'New-S' (1991), 'Impressive' (1992), 'Human' (1993), 'Welcome to the Rose Garden' (1995), 'Blue in Red' (1997) and 'T-Square' (2000)
Masahiro Andoh y Takeshi Itoh
I'm only just discovering this ABSOLUTE GEM of a performance.... initially came here for Casiopea as I still know very little about T-Square.... rest assured this concert is saved in my playlist called "excelent repertoire"
The best we could desire..the 2 best fusion band in Japan and, probably, in the world...together!!! For the absolute perfection, i miss Tetsuo Sakurai but, anyway, this concert is a preciuos gift..thanks from the deep of my heart!

finally an on beat clapping from the audience
i think people tend to clap with a defining snare drum hit. But still cool nonetheless.
2:13:53 It is insane how well these two bassists can match style and rhythm on such a technical passage
Humans react faster to sound that most stimuli, it explain a lot about how musicians can adapt and sync to a tempo.
And it absolutely remove nothing on how techical this is, and it's pretty cool, the drummers do the same at some point.
@ganjaman59650 the drummers are doing it while the bassists are, and for the entire hour before and throughout
This is like a demo tape of Heaven
The piano solo at 26:00 is just amazing. Much respect.

The musicianship, precision and dedication needed for two whole bands of this caliber to mesh so seamlessly onstage. No wonder this does not happen often.

The solo at 13:30 made me weep its the hardest I have ever seen anything rock, thank you for incredible music.

R.I.P., Master Hirotaka Izumi. Thank you for all your great music. You expanded my vision and opened the door of J-Fusion for me. Your music will be always remebered.
also the camera work/editing is wild. for me its a big part of why this is so enjoyable
Akira Jimbo is an absolute BEAST on those drums!
It amazes me how the drums are so in sync with each other, i dont hear any single overlapping snare hit..
One of the drummers quit about a year ago, but for the longest time, and many records, the band KGATLW also had 2 drummers. If you are into psychadellic rock and metal check them out.
Two drummers, two keyboards, one pianist, bass, two guitarmans, sax... whow, it´s a real big band!!
Sérgio Sérginho well its 2 band performing together, not 1
I just knew about the departure of Izumi-san and i'm very sad...i discovered T square some months ago but in this fantastic concert i appreciated the absolute skill and class of Izumi-san and his joy while jumping on a Casiopea song.

Amazing how much early video game music was inspired by these two bands. Just incredible to listen to. Some of the most talented musicians out there!
Rest in peace, Hirotaka Izum
This is the greatest crossover event in history!!
I came to this because of Fightman. Then I realized I love this whole concert. Omens of Love at the beginning got me hooked.
Exactly the same here.
This is art, complete and utter brilliance.

Superb! And funny at 30:03 when Itoh is supposed to start playing, and everyone in the band starts to look at him when he isn't. Keyzo reacting with humour, looking at Mitsuru. :)
the best thing about jazz fusion is if they can fuse jazz with blues, funk, etc. they can also fuse different bands

words can't explain how much I love these bands. Together they make an angelic sound unparalleled
Masahiro Andoh is incredible. I will always remember his incredible compositions in some of the most impactful video games of my childhood.
Absolutely fantastic... They have heaps of talent, and they are so passionate and happy. Great to watch.
Listening to it from 2015 till now , amazing masterpiece!
I love when I find this 3 hours of magic between my chrome favourites.. always feels like the first time I hear it.. musician masters all of them.. Regards from Argentina
It's been 16 years since this live. And it still kicks ass.
Edit: 21 now. It's still amazing

the pure joy i feel when they play asayake
Absolutely outstanding show by two of the best j-fusion bands ever!
27:51 'breeze and you' , very good to hear as a reed shakes, 46:11 'takarajma' also makes me feel relax.

Ted, the music lover.
SO much joy in these artists and their music .. Asayake is a fitting last song, with them both hitting it out 'da park!
so lucky for watching the best perfomance like this.

I'm only just discovering this ABSOLUTE GEM of a performance.... initially came here for Casiopea as I still know very little about T-Square.... rest assured this concert is saved in my playlist called "excelent repertoire"
Just wanted to pass by and say that this is one of my favourite live performances. So good.
